The June 17, 2012 victory at Michigan was Dale Earnhardt's second win in a points-paying event for Hendrick Motorsports and his most recent win in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Earnhardt started the race 17th and led 95 laps on his way to a 5.393 second lead over second-place. In 27 Cup starts at Michigan, Earnhardt has recorded two wins, two pole positions, six top-five finishes and 10 top-10s. He has completed 99.2 percent of all laps he's attempted (5,252 laps of 5,295 total) and led 293 laps.

Tony Stewart swept the top-five in 2012 at Pocono Raceway and the top-10 the following season, but last year he finished outside that mark in both races, which leaves fantasy owners questioning if the 2014 results were an anomaly or a change in direction.

Stewart has not performed consistently well this season, so there is very little reason to believe he is going to crack the top 10 in the Axalta 400 at Pocono Raceway. He will only be a good value if he qualifies badly enough to earn place differential points.
Jun 3 - 9:13 AM

Sam Hornish Jr. has finished on the lead lap in 75 percent of his starts at Pocono Raceway, including in his last attempt in the 2012 Pennsylvania 400. He finished 19th in that event after starting 25th.

Staying on the lead lap at Pocono is not all that difficult, but still a good metric for mid-cap and bargain drivers. It is impossible to score a strong finish without that accomplishment and during his career Hornish has garnered one top-five, two top-10s, and another pair of 11ths.
Jun 3 - 9:13 AM

If 2014 is an indication, Michael Annett will be a solid dark horse at Pocono this week. Last year, he finished in the low 20s in both races, which showed a considerable advancement over his qualification efforts.

Points for his finishing results and place differential points in games that offer them—coupled with a low salary cap in most contests—made Annett one of the best values. He is not flashy and is coming off an accident at Dover International Speedway, so he will be flying under the radar this week.
Jun 3 - 8:47 AM

Denny Hamlin won his first two attempts at Pocono Raceway as a rookie and he backed that up with two more wins in back-to-back races in 2009/2010. Since then, he has finished in the top 10 five more times and outside that mark four times.

Nearly all of Hamlin’s bad runs have come as the result of crash damage. He has been error-free in the past three Axalta 400s, however, and has a perfect record of top-10s in the June event.

Gracin Raz finished fourth in Saturday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-West race at California's Shasta Speedway.

He started the No. 27 Trinity Energy Ford seventh on the grid for the Bill Schmitt Memorial 150. He completed all laps of the 150-lap race. Raz moved up to second in the 2015 K&N Pro Series-West point standings, 12 points behind leader Chris Eggleston.
Jun 2 - 8:42 PM

David Mayhew was credited with a 20th place DNF in Saturday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-West race at California's Shasta Speedway.

He started the No. 17 MMI Racing/Ron's Read Ends/Pour House Chevrolet on the pole for the the Bill Schmitt Memorial 150. He led the first 92 laps of 150 run but had to exit the race due to a mechanical issue (Rear End). Mayhew is currently sixth in the 2015 K&N Pro Series-West point standings.
Jun 2 - 8:28 PM

William Byron scores a 15th place finish in Saturday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East race at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC.

He started the No. 9 Liberty University Chevrolet fourth in the lineup for the NASCAR Hall Of Fame 150. He maintains his position as the leader in the 2015 K&N Pro Series-East point standings after this event by 13 points over second-place Austin Hill (Hill finished 14th in the race).
Jun 2 - 2:42 PM

Jeff Gordon spent only about 35 laps inside the top 10 at Dover from the 400 that made up the distance, but he made them count. He was running 11th and had just lost a lap to the leaders when a caution waved on lap 377. With only a few drivers left on the lead lap, he gained one more spot to finish 10th.

This pattern has been a little unsettling and difficult for fantasy owners to account. Gordon needs a strong race from start to finish in order to become a favorite again, but the good news is that the series rolls onto Pocono Raceway next week. That is one of his favorite tracks.
May 31 - 10:13 PM

Clint Bowyer entered the FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway with the longest active streak of top-10s. He finished ninth on Sunday and extended that streak to nine consecutive races.

During that streak, he has an average finish of 7.3, which will make him a favorite again when the series rolls back into Delaware during the Chase.
May 31 - 10:12 PM

Paul Menard finished eighth in the FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway, which was his sixth consecutive top-20 finish. He has one top-five and two top-10s in that span of races.

Menard is rarely the anchor for one’s roster, but he is unlikely to cost players a lot of points. This makes him a great utility pick for the final slot until his results begin to slip.
May 31 - 8:53 PM

Chip Ganassi Racing placed both of their drivers in the top 10 with Jamie McMurray finishing seventh and Kyle Larson crossing under the checkers third in the FedEx 400 at Dover International Speedway.

CGR ended the 2014 season as one of the most effective teams and challenged the Chase drivers regularly. Fantasy players have been waiting for their resurgence and this could be a preview of things to come.
