Max Papis, the Italian road-course veteran, has two-career starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Road America.

His best start of second came in 2011 and best finish of fourth came in 2012. Papis has completed 105 of 107 laps attempted (98.1 percent) at the 4.048-mile road course, leading one of them. Papis will pilot chassis No. 095 at Road America. This No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro was previously tested this season at Virginia International Raceway. It was also utilized last year at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, where Brendan Gaughan drove it to an 11th- place finish.-Richard Childress Racing

As if the anticipation of his inaugural Daytona 500 wasn’t enough for Erik Jones, the driver of Furniture Row Racing’s No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota Camry prepared for the 59th running of the Great American Race by experiencing a completely unique sensation of speed, horsepower, g-forces, and patriotism: a flight with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds.

Jones and fellow NASCAR Cup Series competitor Ryan Blaney took one-hour flights Tuesday in F-16 Flying Falcons from Yelvington Jet Aviation at Daytona Beach International Airport. He flew on Thunderbird No. 8 piloted by Captain Erik Gonsalves, who has logged more than 1,600 flight hours, including more than 500 hours of combat experience. The flight pulled as many as 9.3 g’s during the flight.-Furniture Row Racing

Bubba Wallace (No. 6 Leidos Ford Mustang) will make his sixth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

In five previous starts at the famed superspeedway, Wallace has recorded two top-10 finishes with a best finish of sixth coming in Feb. 2016. Wallace also made two previous starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at "The World Center of Racing" in 2013 and 2014. Seth Barbour will be atop the pit box for his seventh NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Daytona on Saturday. Ryan Reed (No. 16 Lilly Diabetes Ford Mustang) has six starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) at Daytona International Speedway (DIS).

In his six starts he has earned one win, two top-five and three top-10 finishes. In 2015 Reed captured his first NXS Series win in the season-opener at Daytona. He started eighth, led 14 laps and made a last-lap pass for the victory. 2016 Recap: Reed started the 120-lap event from the 11th position, but suffered some damage to the right-rear during a caution early on in the race. The team worked on the car over the course of the race and Reed was able to earn a 16th-place finish.-Roush Fenway Racing

Zane Smith (No. 43 Diamondback Towing Toyota) scored a second place finish in Sunday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East (NKNPSE) season-opening Jet Tools 150 at Florida's New Smyrna Int'l Speedway.

He started 26th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 150-lap event. Smith is currently second in the 2017 NKNPSE point standings after this event, five points behind leader (and race-winner) Ronnie Bassett Jr.

Ben Rhodes' (No. 27 Toyota Tundra) 2017 campaign will be led by crew chief Eddie Troconis, who called the shots for Cameron Hayley in 2016 at ThorSport Racing.

Troconis enters his second full-time season in the series atop the pit box. In his first full-time season, the Mexico native was credited with six top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. Sheldon Creed, X-Games gold medalist, made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East (NKNPSE) debut driving the No. 40 A.M. Ortega Construction Toyota Camry in Sunday night's season-opening Jet Tools 150 at Florida's New Smyrna Speedway.

Showing good speed in practice, he backed it up with a fourth-place qualifying effort. Despite having radio issues, Creed ran inside the top-10 for much of the race before losing power in his Camry. The faulty battery caused him to drop multiple laps, which resulted in a 19th-place finish.

Harrison Burton entered Sunday night's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East (NKNPSE) season-opening Jet Tools 150 at Florida's New Smyrna Int'l Speedway as one of the favorites for the 2017 NKNPSE championship.

He won his second career 21 Means 21 Pole Award Presented by Coors Brewing Company at New Smyrna. After leading the field to green, he raced inside the top-five the entire night with a car that was good on long run. Burton survived multiple late-race cautions to score a fourth-place finish in his No. 12 DEX Imaging Toyota Camry.

Cody Coughlin (No. 13 RIDE TV Toyota Tundra) has made 12 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) starts since 2015, including one start at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

He has a career-best start of seventh at Talladega (Al.) Superspeedway (2016), and a career-best finish of 12th at Texas Motor Speedway in Forth Worth (June, 2016). Rookie Stripe... Coughlin will be competing for NCWTS Rookie of the Year honors in 2017.-ThorSport Racing

Matt Crafton (No. 88 Goof Off/Menards Toyota Tundra) has more starts (16), has completed more laps (1507), has the most top-10 finishes (7), and has the most lead lap finishes (9) than any other driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

The two-time champion is still looking for his first win at the 2.5-mile superspeedway. In 16 starts since 2001, Crafton has led seven laps en route to one top-five and seven top-10 finishes, with a track-best start of second (2009), and a track-best finish of fifth (2010).-ThorSport Racing

NASCAR veteran Casey Mears and sponsor GEICO will partner with Biagi-DenBeste Racing for 12 races in the 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series season.

Mears will pilot the #98 GEICO Military Ford Mustang, which will pay tribute to our nation's military and its service members. This partnership reunites a sponsor and team who previously experienced success together in the XFINITY Series from 2002 to 2006, where Biagi-DenBeste Racing handed GEICO their first NASCAR win on July 2, 2004, at the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway. 11-years later, they are back together and looking to achieve similar results with Mears behind the wheel, beginning in Fontana, CA, on March 26th.-Player Management International

David Starr will join forces with BJ McLeod Motorsports for the NASCAR XFINITY Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 25th piloting the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro.
