Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is the top rookie finisher in the Sprint Cup Toyota-Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

The No. 17 Ford Fusion driver started 37th and finished 27th. He was named the "Rookie of the Race". The only other ROTY contender in the event was Danica Patrick (finished 29th). Stenhouse is currently 19th in the 2013 point standings.

William Byron (No. 9 Liberty University Toyota Tundra) won the UNOH 175, his sixth victory in 18 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races.

This is his sixth victory and 11th top-10 finish in 2016. Christopher Bell (second) posted his first top-10 finish in one race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). It is his eighth top-five and 12th top-10 finish in 2016. Matt Crafton (third) posted his ninth top-10 finish in 14 races at NHMS. Byron clinched a spot in the NCWTS Chase Round of 6 with the win.

Jeremy Gerstner (No. 15 GMR Lawncare/Carriage House Chevrolet) is at the top of the speed chart in the lone practice for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Caraway 150 at Caraway Speedway (Sophia, NC).

The 101.368 mph lap was the quickest of the 11 cars out on the track for the session. No. 11 Andy Seuss, No. 40 Danny Bohn, No. 28 George Brunnhoelzl and No. 14 Trey Hutchens are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 79 David Calabrese was the slowest in this practice.
Sep 24 - 5:03 PM

Jamie McMurray posted the 18th-fastest speed in final practice with a speed of 131.229 mph. That makes him one of only three Chase contenders who did not post a top-15 lap in this session.

The difference between making the second round and qualifying for it is going to be slim. McMurray needs to find speed overnight or use strategy to get to the top 10. He is not favored as one of this week’s top dark horses and should be used sparingly.
Sep 24 - 12:47 PM

Kasey Kahne posted the fastest single lap in final practice for the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway among non-playoff contenders. His speed of 132.489 mph was good enough for third on that chart.

Kahne has been resurgent in recent weeks with three consecutive top-10s. He should challenge for another finish in that range this week as Hendrick Motorsports finally seems to have regained their overall strength.
Sep 24 - 12:29 PM

Kyle Larson posted the fastest single lap in final practice for the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, which completed a perfect sweep of these sessions. He was also fastest on Friday and Saturday morning.

Larson was concerned about this race, but he seems to have found the rhythm he needs. It will pay to remember that he finished second and third in his first two New Hampshire attempts as a rookie and he seems to have regained that confidence.

Paul Menard has been hit of miss on the short, flat tracks this year. In five previous starts on minimally-banked tracks one-mile or less in length, he has scored two results outside the top 35 and two inside the top 20.

Menard’s best result came at Martinsville Speedway in April when he finished eighth. His worst was two weeks ago at Richmond International Raceway when an accident sidelined him in 40th. Inconsistency is a fantasy player’s worst enemy.
Sep 24 - 11:36 AM

Danica Patrick has finished 16th or better in four of the last six races on short, flat tracks and was 19th in one other event.

Patrick finished very respectably in 14th in the New Hampshire 301. She was 15th two weeks ago at Richmond International Raceway and if she fits a niche on a fantasy player’s roster, she should be considered.
Sep 24 - 11:35 AM

Alex Bowman posted a lap of 133.750 mph to qualify 18th for the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Last week, he started 17th at Chicagoland Speedway based on points and scored his first top-10 in relief for Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Bowman started two positions further back in July on this track, which was the first race Earnhardt missed. He ran well, but suffered crash damage. In his next attempt, he had an ignition failure at Michigan International Speedway, so Chicago was his first error-free attempt. He should be considered a solid dark horse.
Sep 24 - 11:35 AM

Michael Annett has finished better than he started in the last 12 races in the NASCAR Cup series. This is important in games that offer place-differential points.

This current streak includes a 33rd-place finish after starting 37th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and a 31st from 37th at Richmond International Raceway. Annett will start the Bad Boy Off Road 300 from 35th.
Sep 24 - 11:34 AM

David Ragan has many unknowns this week at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Last year he competed in the No. 55 Michael Waltrip Racing in both events, but was not able to showcase his talent in September after a crash. This summer, he was only 30th with his current team.

For the best comparisons, fantasy players may want to look all the way back to his tenure at Front Row Motorsports. In the No. 34, he scored one top-20 and another 25th in six starts. Most of his results were in the high-20s or low-30s, so plan accordingly.
Sep 24 - 11:34 AM

Tony Stewart posted only the 19th fastest single lap on the speed chart for the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Saturday morning’s practice. His fastest lap was 131.040 mph.

Stewart qualified 22nd and there is no reason to believe he is going to finish much better than 20th. As tight as the Chase field is, that is likely to seal his fate before the series rolls into Dover International Speedway next week.
