Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender Kyle Larson comes into the Friday night event at Kentucky Speedway with more experience than most tracks he has encountered on the NNS schedule.

Larson made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut with Turner Scott Motorsports in the first event at the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval in 2012, earning a 10th-place finish. In his most recent NNS start at a 1.5-mile oval (Charlotte Motor Speedway), Larson battled back from an 18th-place starting position to finish fourth.-Turner Scott Motorsports

Daniel Hemric (#19 Draw-Tite Ford F-150) had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice at the Gateway Motorsports Park leading up to the Drivin’ for Linemen 200.

The average speed of 132.758 mph was best of the 12 trucks that ran 10 consecutive laps on the track for this session. #8 John Hunter Nemechek, #9 William Byron, #23 Spencer Gallagher and #29 Tyler Reddick are the rest of the top five on this list.

Ben Rhodes (#41 Alpha Energy Solutions Toyota Tundra) led the final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice session at Gateway Motorsports Park.

Rhodes, who also led the first practice earlier today, ran a quick lap of 135.755 mph in this session. #21 Johnny Sauter, #8 John H. Nemechek, #11 German Quiroga and #81 Ryan Truex round out the top five of the 31 trucks practicing for the Drivin’ for Linemen 200. Caleb Roark in the #10 Chevrolet Silverado was the slowest.

Chase Briscoe (#77 Big Tine Ford) led the first practice for the ARCA Racing Series Herr’s Potato Chips 200 at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana.

The lap of 110.592 mph was the quickest of the 19 cars out on the track for the first practice session. #22 Will Kimmel, #55 Dalton Sargeant, #98 Kyle Weatherman and #27 A.J. Fike are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. #64 Chevrolet driver Mike Seneca was the slowest.

It was finish that left the fans on their feet for the final 25 laps and long-time observers of the NASCAR Pinty's Series calling it one of the best races in the series' 10-year history.

In the end of Friday night's CRS Express 300 at Autodrome Chaudiere in Quebec, it was 23-year-old Alex Labbe celebrating his first career win in front of his hometown crowd and 16-year-old Cayden Lapcevich with a second straight impressive runner-up finish. They ran side-by-side for the final 10 laps, swapping the lead by a nose at the line. Labbe took the point with three to go and only a slip-up in Turn 4 of the final lap prevented a last-lap bump-and-run attempt by Lapcevich. Final margin of victory was .331 seconds.

Ben Rhodes (#41 Alpha Energy Solutions Toyota Tundra) led the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice session at Gateway Motorsports Park.

He ran a quick lap of 135.738 mph. #9 William Byron, #00 Cole Custer, #81 Ryan Truex and #21 Johnny Sauter round out the top five of the 30 trucks practicing for the Drivin’ for Linemen 200. Enrique Contreras in the #71 Chevrolet Silverado was the slowest.
Jun 25 - 11:34 AM

Dale Earnhardt Jr. posted the fastest single lap in the final practice session for the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. His best lap was set at 95.298 mph.

Earnhardt has not qualified better than 15th since joining Hendrick Motorsports, but he scored back-to-back top-10 finishes in 2014/2015. If he starts up front this week, he should be considered a favorite to maintain that track position in race trim.

Paul Menard has been mostly solid on road courses in recent seasons with results of 17th or better in six of the past seven road course races. Five of those efforts ended in top-15s and one was a top-five.

Menard’s career-best Cup finish came on this track in 2014. He qualified ninth and finished fifth. A more likely result will be in the low-teens, so fantasy owners should plan accordingly.

Kyle Busch hit a jackrabbit during final practice for the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. He damaged his car, but it is not significant enough to be critical; unfortunately the same thing cannot be said for the jackrabbit.

Busch posted the second-fastest time through the first 30 minutes and a favorite to finish in the top 10.
Jun 24 - 7:07 PM

Kyle Larson and Jamie McMurray topped the first practice session for the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Kyle Larson posted the fastest lap of 95.141 mph with Jamie McMurray going 94.544 mph.

McMurray’s fastest lap was not without drama. He blocked Tony Stewart coming to the green on his fastest lap and got nudged sideways. Fans will recall Stewart’s famous run-in with Brian Vickers several years back that landed the No. 14 on the tire barrier and consider whether there will be further fallout in the race. Larson’s lap was exceptional and uneventful.

Michael McDowell has one of the five-best place differentials in 2016. With an average starting position of 31.25 and finish of 26.75 in 12 starts, he finished 4.5 spots better and those extra points are often very important to success in a fantasy league.

McDowell has finished worse than he started only three times this year. When he is behind the wheel, fantasy owners can be relatively confident that his grid position is only the start of his success in a race.

Six of Brian Scott’s last nine races this season have been marked by crash damage, but he managed to stay on track until the checkers waved in most of those events. Last week’s failure to finish in the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway was the first time this year he has parked early.

Scott has been trending down for some time, however. He finished on the same lap as the leaders only once on a non-restricted track this year and that was well back in March’s Auto Club 400.
