Trevor Bayne opened the 2013 season by winning the pole at Daytona International Speedway in February.

Despite starting at the front of the pack, the car suffered mechanical problems leaving the No. 6 team in 31st-place. The Car: Chassis RK-718 has not been on the track since Ricky Stenhouse Jr. used it to open his 2012 Championship season in Daytona. Stenhouse finished 19th after being entangled in a crash in turn four of the final lap. Winn-Dixie will return to Roush Fenway Racing on the No. 6 car after a historic run with Mark Martin and the No. 60 car. Winn-Dixie sponsored Martin and the No. 60 car for nearly a decade. Together, they amassed 20 pole positions and nearly 40 wins.-Roush Fenway Racing

Kurt Busch snapped a five-race, top-15 streak dating back to the Pocono 400 when he crossed under the checkers 17th.

The driver was undoubtedly disappointed, but the past seven races have given him an average finish of 11.1, beginning with an 18th at Dover. In the six races that preceded the FedEx 400 his average finish was 32.5, and that turnaround means he is once more becoming fantasy relevant.

Jamie McMurray finished 16th in the Camping World RV Sales 301 and climbed one position in the standings, but he remains well outside of the Chase cutoff in 21st without a 2014 victory to his credit.

McMurray is known for his ability to score big on NASCAR’s grandest stages, however, and the Cup field rolls into Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400 as their next outing. Fantasy players will want to give serious consideration to starting him in that race, but if he does not perform he could be relegated to the bench for the foreseeable future.

Ryan Reed finishes 11th in Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Jul 13 - 8:49 PM

Greg Biffle’s Camping World RV Sales 301 effort got off to a shaky start with smoke from his left rear tire. The team managed to hang on until the first caution period, made the right adjustments, and kept Biffle in contention to earn a 15th-place finish.

Biffle remains close enough to the points’ cutoff that he needs to balance his desire to win with the need to earn points. He currently sits 16th in the standings, but with Aric Almirola and Kurt Busch further down the standings and victories in their pockets, Biffle will need to climb to at least 14th to claim a Chase berth.

Austin Dillon finished 14th in the Camping World RV Sales 301, joining third-place Kyle Larson in the top 15.

The rookie battle continues to be a strong one as Dillon and Larson are currently tied for 14th in the points’ standings. If the Chase were to start next week, Dillon would miss the cutoff because Larson has a second-place finish to Dillon’s best of fifth. This battle will continue to spur the two drivers on and makes both of them strong fantasy plays.
Jul 13 - 8:32 PM
