Johnny Sauter's got a lot of tracks on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series circuit at which he's consistently very, very good -- but Pocono Raceway hasn't been one of them.

Sauter's average finish at Pocono, which has held only three Truck Series races, is a maddening 15th, based in large part on his 27th-place last season. That's actually sixth-best of the 11 drivers that have raced at Pocono three times, but that's no consolation to Sauter, who started 12th and finished 14th in the series' 2010 inaugural.-ThorSport Racing

Ryan Newman earned his sixth top-10 finish of the season at Talladega SuperSpeedway when he crossed the finish line seventh. It was also his fourth consecutive top-15.

That makes Newman a consistently strong mid-cap pick who should be used when he fits the appropriate niche in one’s roster. This week, his final appeal for tire doctoring at Auto Club Speedway will be heard, so pay attention to future fantasy news items.

Sam Hornish Jr. earned his first top-10 of the season in the Geico 500. He crossed under the checkers sixth.

That was not only his first top-10, but only his second top-15 of the year. He finished 12th in the Daytona 500. In the eight races between these two superspeedway contests, he scored a best of 19th at Bristol and had an average result of 30th. Fantasy players will want to save him for Daytona in July.

Talladega is often the track where streaks are broken and that made Martin Truex Jr. a questionable value at the start of the Geico 500. He finished fifth at Talladega to earn his second consecutive top-10 and ninth in 10 races.

Truex now has a two-race, top-10 streak on plate tracks as well and will be an interesting pick at Daytona this July in salary cap games.
May 3 - 5:29 PM

Ryan Blaney was almost shuffled out of the draft in the frenetic run to the checkers, but he managed to get some help and crossed the finish line fourth.

Blaney’s run was not quite as impressive as the win by Trevor Bayne in his inaugural Daytona 500 for this same team, but it does underscore just how strong the No. 21 Wood Bros. Ford is on plate tracks when they stay out of trouble.
May 3 - 5:23 PM

Paul Menard finished third in the Geico 500. He has periodically been a great pick on this plate track and earned a top-five in the fall 2013 Camping World RV Sales 500 on this track. He had to wait until this race to get another.

Menard came close at Talladega last fall with a sixth. That gives him three top-six finishes in the last four races on this track, so players should make a note to start him this fall at ‘Dega.

Jimmie Johnson pushed Dale Earnhardt Jr. to the lead, but he would have preferred to win. He was never quite able to get the right push from the competition and then chose to stay in line to help Hendrick Motorsports record a one-two result.

Johnson is starting the season with a near perfect record. He started in the top five in both plate races this year. He scored a fifth at Daytona and now a second at Talladega.
May 3 - 5:00 PM

Dale Earnhardt Jr. led the final 27 laps of the Talladega race and won the Geico 500 virtually uncontested.

All but one of the final 20+ laps of the race were run in single file and drivers could not mount a charge on the white flag lap. Part of the reason the competition was unwilling to pull out to attempt to pass was that teammate Jimmie Johnson was Earnhardt’s wing man. He becomes the eighth winner of the season and has punched his ticket to the Chase.

Noah Gragson grabbed his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series-West win after a fierce door-to-door battle with teammate Gracin Raz in a green-white-checkered finish in the NAPA Auto Parts Wildcat 150 at Tucson (AZ) Speedway.

Gragson, a Las Vegas native and driver of the No. 7 Alert ID Ford, continued an impressive start to his rookie campaign with his second top five and third top 10 finish in three races. Raz was lined up next to Gragson on the final restart in the No. 27 Trinity Energy Ford but was forced to settle for the runner up position, giving him two top fives and three top 10s on the season.

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Series team Our Motorsports announced today that Modified veteran Keith Rocco will assume driving duties of the No. 22 Chevrolet for the remainder of the 2015 season.

Rocco replaces Tommy Barrett Jr. who competed on the Tour during the 2014 schedule as well as this year’s season opener at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. "Based on our goals and objectives for the 2015, we felt it was in the best interest of the team to make a driver change early in the season," said team owner Chris Our. Ron Norman won the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Arizona State championship last year in a Late Model at Tucson Speedway, and he put that experience to good use in his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series West start at his home track.

Norman earned his first career Coors Light Pole Award for the NAPA Auto Parts Wildcat 150, leading the field with a fast lap time of 15.794 seconds (85.475 mph) to grab the top spot and edge second-place Brandon McReynolds who finished his lap at 15.979/84.486.
May 2 - 10:30 PM

Chris Eggleston (No. 99 NAPA Filters/H20Fire Protection Toyota) is at the top of the speed chart in the final practice leading to the K&NPS-West NAPA Auto Parts WildCat 150 at Tucson (AZ) Speedway.

He put up an 81.281 mph lap in the final practice. No. 9 Ryan Partridge, No. 6 James Bickford, No. 30 Ron Norman and No. 33 Nicole Behar are the rest of the top five and No. 0 Bobby Hillis was the slowest of the 20 cars running in this final session.
