Carl Edwards (99 Ford) wins two contingency race awards in the Sprint Cup IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

He won the Duralast Brakes "Brake in the Race" award given to the highest eligible driver in the running order at the time of the first caution of each race. He also won the Sherwin-Williams Fastest Lap award. He started third, led 119 laps but dropped out with an engine failure. He was credited with a 39th place finish. He is third in the 2013 Sprint Cup point standings.

Kasey Kahne and Leavine Family Racing’s (LFR) stellar run at Daytona International Speedway ended early after a second-stage wreck provided no way out for Kahne and the No. 95 Procore Camaro ZL1.

Kahne started 26th and quickly worked his way into the Top-15. He made it as far as fifth place before getting bumped loose and was forced to dive down pit road. Kahne dropped back to 37th and was no longer in the draft. Kahne began the second stage in 11th, making it back up to as high as sixth place. On lap 101 the front of the pack began to wreck, providing no way out for Kahne. He was unable to avoid the wreckage, ending his day early.-LFR

David Gilliland (No. 4 Pedigree Toyota Tundra) finished 21st in Friday night's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season-opening NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

He started on the pole, led 30 laps and completed 95 laps of the 100-lap race. Gilliland opens the season 6th in the 2018 NCWTS driver championship standings but this may be his only race in the No. 4. He is filling in for his young son, Todd, who will take over the truck in the next event.

Gaunt Brothers Racing and D.J. Kennington recovered from an early accident to finish 24th in Sunday's Daytona 500.

Just after the first quarter of the race, Kennington was involved in a three-car accident in which his Lordco/Castrol Toyota Camry sustained damage to its left front and left side. Fortunately, attrition was high during The Great American Race, as three more multi-car accidents throughout the day worked in the team's favor. Kennington completed 201 out of 207 laps -- the 500-mile event was extended due to a late-race accident -- to finish 24th among the 40-car field.-Rising Star Management

Cole Custer will pilot the No. 51 Ford for Rick Ware Racing in the Pennzoil 400. An announcement is expected later this week.

The 20-year-old Ladera Ranch, California, native is currently in his second full season in the XFINITY Series with Stewart-Haas Racing. Custer won his first NXS race at Homestead-Miami Speedway in his 38th-career NXS start behind the wheel of the No. 00 Ford.
