Kyle Busch finished fifth in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma to earn his fifth straight result of seventh or better on road courses.

Busch was a little off on tire strategy and had older rubber at the end than Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin, but he managed his race well. That helped add a few the volume of points his fantasy owners expected.

Denny Hamlin finished fourth in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway, which was his third consecutive top-five on a road course

This is a huge reversal of fortune for the Virginia native. The six seasons preceding last year netted no top-10s on this track type and only two top-20s with an average of 29.17.

Brad Keselowski played an alternate strategy at Sonoma Raceway and came close to making it work. He finished third in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway and was inside of a second of the runner-up position.

Keselowski went longer on tires in the final segment than anyone else and had fresher tires at the end. His third-place finish contributed to a player’s win, but he also added 20 place-differential points after starting 23rd.

Clint Bowyer finished second in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway in a beaten up Ford on Sunday and finished more than eight seconds behind teammate Kevin Harvick.

A lot was expected from Bowyer last year at Sonoma even in the lightly funded HScott Motorsports car, but an electrical problem sent him home last. He was third on this track in 2015, however, so this result was not entirely unexpected.

Kevin Harvick swept the weekend with a win in the K&N race on Saturday and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series win on Sunday in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway .

That makes Harvick the 11th unique Cup winner this season, and while he was high enough in the points entering this race that he was not currently worried about making the playoffs, his win takes away one position from drivers hoping to make the final based on points.

Theetge's lap time was sixth one thousandths of a second faster than second place but the Boischatel, Quebec, driver was not fast enough to contend with the track record of 12.593 set by Alex Labbe. The aforementioned Alex Labbe who is the defending race winner at Autodrome Chaudiere set a lap time of 13.187 (68.249). Labbe will start second, narrowly missing the pole.
