Kaz Grala won the Keystone Light 21 Means 21 Pole Award for the NextEra Energy Resources 250 with a lap of 180.676 mph.

This is the No. 33 Kiklos Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil Chevrolet Silverado driver's first pole in ten NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races. It is his first pole at Daytona International Speedway (DIS). Johnny Sauter (second) posted his sixth top-10 start in nine races at DIS. Spencer Gallagher (third) posted his second top-10 start at DIS. Grala has become the youngest NASCAR national series pole winner at Daytona at the age 18 years, 1 month and 26 days (previous record was held by Dylan Kwasniewski at the age of 18 years, 8 months and 22 days).

Cole Custer (No. 00 Haas Automation Ford Mustang) had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in the XFINITY Series final practice for the PowerShares QQQ 300 at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

The average speed of 184.506 mph was best of the three cars that ran at least 10 consecutive laps on the track for this final practice session. No. 39 Ryan Sieg (184.453 mph) and No. 28 Dakoda Armstrong (184.452 mph) are the others on this list.

Kyle Busch posted the fastest single lap in Friday’s second practice with a speed of 197.265 mph.

Busch’s speed was confirmed by the fact that the top six were all Joe Gibbs Racing affiliated racers. The group drafts well together and if they can hook up on Sunday, the field will have difficulty passing the leader of that pack.

J.J. Yeley (No. 14 Superior Essex Toyota) tops the speed chart in the Final Practice session for the XFINITY Series PowerShares QQQ 300 at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

He ran a fast lap of 187.005 mph. No. 4 Ross Chastain, No. 44 Benny Gordon, No. 42 Tyler Reddick and No. 00 Cole Custer round out the top-five of the 37 cars out on the track. The No. 97 Chevy, driven by Stephen Leicht, was the slowest in the final practice session.

JGL Racing announced that Jeb Burton has joined their popular "Young Guns" program by signing a multi-race deal to pilot the No. 24 Toyota in NASCAR XFINITY Series competition.

Burton will first climb behind the wheel of the No. 24 Toyota in the April 8th event at Texas Motor Speedway. He will also pilot the No. 24 in events at Bristol-4/22, Daytona-6/30, Kentucky-7/7, Indianapolis-7/22 and Bristol-8/18. Burton joins previously announced Scott Lagasse, Jr., Corey LaJoie and Drew Herring as drivers of the No. 24 Toyota for the XFINITY Series season.-Integrity Sports Marketing

With a 14th-place finish in Thursday night's second Can-Am Duel race, Gaunt Brothers Racing and driver D.J. Kennington qualified the No. 96 Lordco/Castrol Toyota Camry into the 59th running of the Daytona 500. Kennington will start 28th in Sunday's race.

Kennington, hailing from St. Thomas, Ontario, will become the first Canadian to compete in The Great American Race since Calgary's Trevor Boys in 1988, a 29-year drought that the two-time NASCAR Pinty's Series champion is thrilled to end.-Rising Star Management Group

Justin Allgaier (No. 7 Brandt Professional Agriculture Chevrolet Camaro) led the first practice session for the XFINITY Series PowerShares QQQ 300 at Daytona Int'l Speedway.

The lap of 193.890 mph lap was the best of the 43 cars completing laps in this session. No. 22 Brad Keselowski, No. 42 Tyler Reddick, No. 9 William Byron and No. 23 Spencer Gallagher are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. Jeff Green, in the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro, was the slowest.

David Ragan posted the fastest lap in Friday’s first practice session for the Daytona 500 with a speed of 194.898 mph.

Ragan is one of the better dark horses on plate tracks while racing for teams with moderate funding. Fantasy owners should continue to watch him in the draft during the next two days and give serious consideration to allowing him to stretch the salary cap.

Tyler Reddick makes his NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) debut this weekend at Daytona International Speedway.

Reddick won in his first career start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East at Rockingham Speedway in 2012. He competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) on a part-time basis in 2013 and 2014 before moving to full-time duties in 2015 and 2016. In 63 NCWTS starts, Reddick had three wins (his first coming In Daytona in 2015), three poles, 25 top-five and 40 top-10 finishes. He finished second in the NCWTS standings in 2015 and ninth in the standings in 2016. Following an award-winning digital media campaign, Reddick was named 2016 NCWTS Most Popular Driver. After sharing driving duties with Kyle Larson and Justin Marks in 2015, Poole competed full-time in the NXS in 2016, scoring four top-five and 17 top-b finishes with a best of third at Talladega Superspeedway in May and Road America in August.
