Brothers Enrique and Carlos Contreras are pleased to announce the formation of the first Mexican team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS), Contreras Motorsports.

Crew Chief Tim Andrews, son of crew chief champion, Paul Andrews, will lead the talented young crew on their inaugural season. The team will be running trucks that are prepared for different tracks that the series visits throughout the season, with the purpose of providing opportunities for up-and-coming drivers looking to break into NASCAR. Carlos Contreras, who has more than 100 NASCAR starts and six Daytona appearances, will be driving the Chevy Silverado No. 71 at the Nextera Energy Resources 250. Bellator MMA, a leading mixed martial arts promoter founded in 2008, will sponsor the Chevy Silverado #71, promoting #Bellator149 which will take place on Feb. 19 featuring Grace vs. Shamrock as the main event.

Lira Motorsports welcomes a new face to the 2016 season, a face that is recognizable in the Camping World Truck Series after his rookie debut and a top 20 finish in the season points last year.

Korbin Forrister, a prodigy who started racing dirt tracks at a very young age, is up for the challenge of training with and competing against some of the biggest names in NASCAR. On January 29, Korbin Forrister made a powerful career move and signed on with Lira Motorsports. For Forrister to sit down with Carlos Lira and find they share a similar vision for the future made quite an impression on the young, motivated driver. He’ll be running in the Camping World Truck Series (#59 Ford F-150) in Daytona, Atlanta, and Martinsville to start off the season, followed by a race in the ARCA series at Talladega.

Germain Racing will enter the No. 13 GEICO Chevrolet SS in Saturday night's 75-lap Sprint Unlimited.

Casey Mears wheeled the GEICO Chevy to a fourth-place finish last February in the team's first-ever appearance in the pre-season, exhibition race. "With no testing in the off season it's great to knock the cobwebs off and get a feel for what we will need in the 500," said Mears who will be making his fourth Sprint Cup Series career start in the Sprint Unlimited. As it did last year, chassis 387 will serve as the No. 13 GEICO Chevy SS for Mears. The car was formerly the primary chassis for superspeedway races before being moved to the Sprint Unlimited duties in 2015.-Player Management International

Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) announced today that DC Solar will return as the season-long partner on the No. 48 Chevy Camaro with Brennan Poole behind the wheel.

Poole (24), will compete for the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship and Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in 2016. Veteran XFINITY Series Crew Chief Chad Norris will lead the DC Solar sponsored team. Poole shared seat time in 2015 with 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year Kyle Larson and road-course specialist Justin Marks. The Woodlands, Texas native competed in 17 NASCAR XFINITY Series races in 2015, scoring two top-10s and 10 top-15 finishes.-CGR

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is head and shoulders above the competition on restrictor-plate, superspeedways both in terms of average finishes, number of victories, top-fives, and top-10s. He will be the starter of choice for most players this week.

Junior has 10 victories on this track type in 64 starts and will be the best value if he scores a 26th top-five—but players looking for an early advantage may want to look elsewhere. Earnhardt will be on so many rosters that he will not allow players to differentiate their rosters, so they will neither gain nor lose ground on the competition by starting the No. 88.

In his new ride with HScott Motorsports, Clint Bowyer should be this year’s best dark horse for the Daytona 500. In 40 career starts on plate tracks, he has the second-best career average finish with a 15.05.

Equally impressive, Bowyer has been consistently strong of both restrictor-plate, superspeedways. He has an average finish of 14.9 at Talladega SuperSpeedway and 15.2 at Daytona International Speedway.
Feb 11 - 6:33 PM

Kevin Harvick has the third-best average finish on plate track among active, fulltime drivers with a 15.54 in 59 starts. One of the reasons for his solid average is because he has two wins at Daytona International Speedway and one at Talladega SuperSpeedway.

In addition, he has finished in the runner-up position five times on NASCAR’s biggest courses, so he deserves to anchor many fantasy players’ rosters.
Feb 11 - 6:32 PM

Kurt Busch has the fourth-best average finish on plate tracks with a 16.81, but that only tells half the story. He has amassed this amazing average starting 59 races, which makes him a more than solid plate racer.

For all that success, however, he has yet to win one of the restrictor-plate, superspeedway events. He has finished second three times and all of these solid runs came in the Great American Race; he was second in the 2003, 2005, and 2008 Daytona 500s.
Feb 11 - 6:31 PM

Jimmie Johnson has been an all-or-nothing racer on plate tracks during his career. With 18 top-fives in his career, he is second only to Dale Earnhardt Jr. in that regard, but his career average finish of 16.93 puts him sixth on that chart.

Johnson is a much more predictable value on unrestricted, intermediate speedways, so fantasy owners do not need to worry about starting him in the Daytona 500. If he makes his way onto the roster, however, and develops some momentum players may want to hold him this May at Talladega SuperSpeedway.
Feb 11 - 2:15 PM

Matt Kenseth has the eighth-best average finish among fulltime, active drivers on this track type but he is heading in the wrong direction. His last four starts on restrictor-plate, superspeedways ended outside the top 20.

In fact, since joining Joe Gibbs Racing in 2013, he has scored only three top-10s in 12 starts and probably should be avoided in the Daytona 500. His one shining moment came in the 2014 Chase when he finished second in the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway

Bobby Hamilton, Jr.’s full circle in racing has led the Nashville, Tennessee third-generation racer right back to his roots…right back to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

Hamilton is also planning a full season on the ARCA tour. He will be driving the No. 4 Makeover Mortgage-AmericanStairDesign.com Dodge. His wife Stephanie is listed as the car owner. Chuck Adcock is his crew chief. Hamilton formed the team – Hamilton-Hughes Racing – in the off-season. "The No. 4 goes back to my dad (Bobby Hamilton, Sr.). He had the most fun in racing when he ran the 4 car for Morgan-McClure (Motorsports). We both raced the Kodak 4 car. The 4 was a number we shared, so it’s pretty cool to have it back on our car. And my dad’s championship in the Trucks was with the 4, so the number is very special to me."
