After apparently missing a shift, AJ Allmendinger blew his engine and will retire from the Toyota/SaveMart 350k at Sonoma Raceway.

Allmendinger has not had very good fortune at Sonoma, but if you rolled the dice on him as a dark horse, make sure to remove him from your NASCAR Fantasy Live roster.

AJ Allmendinger won the first stage of the Toyota/SaveMart 350 k at Sonoma Raceway.

Allmendinger was running third when the leaders Martin Truex Jr. and Kevin Harvick pitted - handing the stage win to him. About half of the lead lap drivers pitted under green - opting to give up stage points for a chance at winning the race. Allmendinger will now be mire in traffic, but should cycle to the lead at the end of stage two.

Kevin Harvick climbed from sixth to second with five laps remaining in stage one at Sonoma Raceway in the Toyota 350k.

It doesn't matter what track or type of course NASCAR runs, Harvick is going to be hard to beat.

Martin Truex Jr. took the lead from Kyle Larson on lap three of the SaveMart 350 at Sonoma Raceway and led 10 of the first 12 laps - and counting.

Truex was deemed one of the favorites by crew chiefs and other drivers. He won in 2013 and could be repeat. If he is in your NASCAR Fantasy Live garage, activate him.

Erik Jones sustained damage in the opening laps of the SaveMart 350k at Sonoma Raceway while racing Michael McDowell for 22nd.

Jones damage is significant, but should not impact his handling very much since it is on the passenger side door. Hang onto him if he is on your roster.

There was never any doubt that Will Rodgers was the driver to beat on road courses in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. The 23-year-old NASCAR Next driver capped off a dominate weekend by winning the Carneros 200 at Sonoma Raceway on Saturday.

The win marks his fourth straight K&N Pro Series win on a road course, and Saturday’s West victory comes a week after he won the East race at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Not even a Sonoma field that included five Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers could keep Rodgers from Victory Lane. Rodgers was fastest in practice at Sonoma, won the pole position for the second year in a row, and led a race-high 35 laps.
