Austin Theriault will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut this season, as JR Motorsports has signed him to drive three races in the No. 5 Chevrolet.

Theriault, a 20-year-old late model racer from Fort Kent, Maine, will make his debut on May 18 at Iowa Speedway, driving the No. 5 Chevrolet replete with primary branding from SPY, the eyewear brand behind Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Signature 88 Collection and innovative Happy Lens™ technology. Nationwide Series races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (July 12) and Kentucky Speedway (Sept. 20) will fill out Theriault’s three-race schedule. The seat of the No. 5 is filled by multiple drivers throughout the season.-JR Motorsports

Trevor Bayne makes his seventh NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) this Friday.

In his previous six starts, Bayne earned two top-five and three top-10 finishes. The Car: The No. 6 AdvoCare team will race chassis RK-806 under the lights Friday night at RIR. This chassis most recently raced at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this season, finishing eighth. Bayne also raced this chassis last season at Kansas Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, finishing ninth and fifth, respectively.-Roush Fenway Racing

The Toyota Owners 400 will mark Kyle Busch’s 338th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start and his 19th Sprint Cup start at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.

He has four wins, 12 top-five finishes and 13 top-10s, and he’s led a total of 931 laps in his 18 career Sprint Cup starts at Richmond. His average Richmond finish is 7.2 (tops among active drivers). With his Richmond win in April 2012, Busch set a record of four consecutive spring-race wins at the .75-mile oval, breaking a tie with Richard Petty, who won three straight spring races at Richmond from 1971 to 1973.-TSC

Michael Annett, a Rookie of the Year candidate, cites Richmond as one of his favorite racetracks, and for good reason.

He finished 13th or better, including a fifth-place finish in 2012, in his last four NASCAR Nationwide Series races at the facility. Jimmy Weller (No. 55 Geneva-Liberty Steel Chevrolet Camaro) will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut this weekend at Richmond International Raceway.

Since the beginning of 2013, the Hubbard, Ohio native has made six starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series where he competes part-time (most recently at Daytona; finished 9th). He may be new to the Nationwide Series, but Weller has two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East starts at the Richmond, Va. speedway. After finishing 12th in his first race at the track in 2012, Weller returned to the venue in April 2013. Racing inside the top 10 in that event, Weller was involved in an on-track incident, but rebounded to finish in the 17th position.-A2B Strategies LLC

Fresh off a successful two-day test of his No. 13 Toyota Tundra at Charlotte, Jeb Burton's ready for some home cooking Thursday night in the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown at South Boston (Va.) Speedway.

The event benefits the Denny Hamlin Cystic Fibrosis Research Lab at the Children's Hospital of Richmond, Va., at Virginia Commonwealth University. Burton, whose two starts in NASCAR Late Model Stock Cars this season at South Boston have resulted in two top-seven finishes in his No. 4 Toyota Camry, is faced with a little stiffer competition -- including no less than four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars -- so he knows he'll have to do more.-ThorSport Racing

This weekend will mark Justin Boston's third start with Venturini Motorsports at Salem Speedway.

The Baltimore, Md., driver (No. 25 ZLOOP Toyota Camry) has made two ARCA Racing Series starts at the .555-mile track, earning the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell in both qualifying attempts. Boston finished a career-best ninth-place at the track in April 2013. In the September event, he finished 23rd when transmission issues afflicted Boston.-ZLOOP Racing

Kenzie Ruston (No. 96 Ben Kennedy Racing Chevrolet) has four top fives and eight top 10s in 18 career K&N Pro Series-East starts.

Ranks sixth in points. Finished 19th in last season’s Blue Ox 100 for her only Richmond start. Led four laps on Feb. 16 at New Smyrna and became the first female K&N East driver to lead a lap since Danica Patrick at Dover in September 2010. Best career finish of third, recorded in April 2013 at Greenville, is the best finish by a female driver in NKNPS East history. Finished sixth in the final K&N East standings last season which is the best in series history for a female driver. Clint Bowyer is one driver who loves the .75-mile D-shaped Richmond oval as evidenced by his two wins in May 2008 and September 2012.

He also earned three top-five and nine top-10 finishes in 16 starts. Most impressively, the Michael Waltrip Racing driver does not have a DNF (did not finish) and has completed 6,413 of 6,416 laps.
