Jennifer Jo Cobb’s qualifying speed was not good enough to get into the Camping World Truck Series fred’s 250 at Talladega Superspeedway.

She ran a lap of 167.773 mph in the No. 10 truck. It was 37th quickest but not quick enough to make the field for the race.

Kevin Harvick posted the quickest 10-lap average in the first practice session for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway with a speed of 119.652 mph.

Harvick has five top-five finishes in his last seven Richmond starts. All but one of his last eight starts have come from the first three rows.

Noah Gragson (No. 18 Switch Toyota) had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in the XFINITY Series final practice for the ToyotaCare 250.

The average speed of 118.254 mph was best of the 27 cars that ran at least 10 consecutive laps on the track for this final practice session. No. 00 Cole Custer, No. 20 Christopher Bell, No. 42 John Hunter Nemechek and No. 22 Austin Cindric make up the rest of the top-five on this list.

John Hunter Nemechek (No. 42 Fire Alarm Services Inc. Chevrolet) tops the speed chart in the Final Practice session for the XFINITY Series ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond (VA) Raceway.

He ran a fast lap of 119.090 mph. No. 7 Justin Allgaier, No. 18 Noah Gragson, No. 20 Christopher Bell and No. 00 Cole Custer round out the top-five of the 37 cars out on the track. The No. 28 Ford, driven by Tony Mrakovich, was the slowest in the final practice session.
Apr 20 - 12:16 PM

Kyle Larson posted the second fastest time in the first practice session for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway with a speed of 121.076 mph.

Larson won last fall’s Federated Auto Parts 400 and he finished second in the 2016 fall race. Larson started from the first position in spring 2014 when that race was set by the rule book; he finished only 17th.
Apr 20 - 12:12 PM

Chase Elliott posted the fastest single lap in the first practice session for the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway with a speed of 121.327 mph.

Elliott is coming off a tough weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. He has only one top-10 on this track, however, and needs a good long-run setup to challenge for a victory. Wait until the second practice is in the books before making any decisions.
Apr 20 - 12:08 PM

Christopher Bell (No. 20 Rheem Toyota) led the first practice session for the XFINITY Series ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond (VA) Raceway.

A lap of 121.902 mph was the best of the 39 cars completing laps in this session. No. 00 Cole Custer, No. 18 Noah Gragson, No. 22 Austin Cindric and No. 11 Ryan Truex made up the rest of the top-five on the speed chart. The No. 74 Dodge, driven by Mike Harmon, was the slowest. Bell also had a 10-lap average speed of 120.622 mph. This was the best of the 16 cars running at least 10 consecutive laps in this session.
Apr 20 - 11:54 AM

Landon Cassill has finished 21st and 20th in his last two starts with StarCom Racing.

At the end of 2017, Cassill gave Front Row Motorsports 10 consecutive finishes in the 20s. That suggests his pair of 20-something results with StarCom means that he is getting all there is out of the car. Bear in mind, however, that both Texas Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway featured heavy attrition.
Apr 20 - 9:57 AM

In five starts at Richmond Raceway, Chase Elliott has never failed to complete the full race distance.

Completing 2,011 laps of competition in five races, Elliott has managed to stay in contention despite suffering crash damage in fall 2016. Until last fall, however, he failed to score a single top-10 and had only one other top-15.
Apr 20 - 9:47 AM

Paul Menard has earned one top-10 at Richmond Raceway, but it was a good one; he finished fifth in the 2013 Federated Auto Parts 400.

This is Menard's worst track in regard to career-average finishes with a 24.6 in 22 starts. With his new Wood Brothers ride, he should easily be able to beat that average, but fantasy owners probably want to wait and see how he performs before making a commitment.
Apr 20 - 9:42 AM

Reed Sorenson finished 33rd and 30th in Richmond Raceway’s two races last year.

Sorenson’s two best finished with Premium Motorsports was a 26th in fall 2016 and a 30th last fall. He has not been quite as strong in the spring, so fantasy owners can expect a result in the low- to mid-30s this week.
Apr 20 - 9:32 AM

Harrison Rhodes will make his fifth start in the Cup series this week in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway.

Rhodes will make his first start at Richmond, but be now has two starts on short tracks. Neither of them were particularly productive with a 35th at Martinsville Speedway and a 37th at Bristol Motor Speedway, so this will be a week to evaluate his potential – but do not start him.
