The award is given to the winner of the race or the next-highest finishing driver displaying the Mobil 1 decal. He earned the award for his second place finish in the Nationwide Series ServiceMaster 200 at Phoenix International Raceway. Allgaier is fourth in the 2013 NNS point standings.

Swan Racing announced it has successfully restructured the company by finding solutions for the No. 26 and No. 30 teams in an attempt to save the jobs of the crews, the drivers, and to keep those teams competing throughout the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

The No. 30 team has been sold to John Cohen of XxxTreme Motorsports, which will operate the team going forward and intends to compete with veteran driver J.J. Yeley. Parker Kligerman remains under contract with Swan Racing, which will seek to identify options for him to get back on track.-Swan Racing PR

In 29 Sprint Cup starts at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway, Dale Earnhardt Jr. has recorded three wins, one pole position, nine top-five finishes and 12 top-10s.

He has led a total of 494 laps and completed 99.2 percent of all laps he's attempted at the short track (11,513 laps of 11,609 total). Among active competitors, Earnhardt is one of four drivers ranked tied for second with three Cup victories at Richmond. Earnhardt most recently went to Victory Lane at Richmond on May 6, 2006, after leading 47 laps.-Hendrick Motorsports

Carl Edwards is looking for back-to-back wins at Richmond after his first victory at the three quarter mile track in the fall of 2013.

Edwards came from the 26th-position to win the Federated Auto Parts 400 in September. He has 19 Sprint Cup starts at Richmond with an average start of 13.3 and an average finish of 13.7. Edwards has finished in the top-five four times and in the top-ten ten times. The Car: Primary chassis was last run in 2014 at Bristol, finishing first.-Roush Fenway Racing

2014 will mark Chris Buescher’s second trip to Richmond International Raceway.

He competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at the 3/4 mile track in 2011 as a backup for Trevor Bayne, who fell ill. In 2011 Buescher began from the 21st-position finishing in 17th. Ryan Blaney will return to the seat of the No. 22 SKF / Discount Tire Ford Mustang this weekend at Richmond.

After a merry-go-round consisting of Blaney, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano to start the season, Blaney will be behind the wheel for the next three NASCAR Nationwide Series races beginning at Richmond, followed by Talladega and Iowa. He also got a lot of seat time in different cars this week. He tested the Brad Keselowski Racing Ford F-150 truck at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Monday and tested a Sprint Cup Series car for Team Penske at Nashville on Tuesday.-Team Penske

He has raced there twice in the K&N Pro Series East, finishing second in the 2012 event. Two consecutive victories have propelled him into the series points lead, making him the youngest to ever hold the top spot. He notched his best short track finish of third driving for JRM at Richmond last fall. The effort ties the organization’s best finish at the facility. Jamie McMurray also finished third there in 2010. In two starts at RIR for JRM, Smith has earned a pair of top-five efforts with an average finish of 4.0. Austin Theriault will make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut this season, as JR Motorsports has signed him to drive three races in the No. 5 Chevrolet.

Theriault, a 20-year-old late model racer from Fort Kent, Maine, will make his debut on May 18 at Iowa Speedway, driving the No. 5 Chevrolet replete with primary branding from SPY, the eyewear brand behind Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Signature 88 Collection and innovative Happy Lens™ technology. Nationwide Series races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (July 12) and Kentucky Speedway (Sept. 20) will fill out Theriault’s three-race schedule. Trevor Bayne makes his seventh NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) this Friday.

In his previous six starts, Bayne earned two top-five and three top-10 finishes. The Car: The No. 6 AdvoCare team will race chassis RK-806 under the lights Friday night at RIR. This chassis most recently raced at Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this season, finishing eighth. Bayne also raced this chassis last season at Kansas Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, finishing ninth and fifth, respectively.-Roush Fenway Racing
