Wauters Motorsports announced today that John Wes Townley will drive the No. 5 Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra in the 2014 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

"He has made significant gains in his NASCAR career and we feel this is the right fit for him this season. We expect to have John Wes in the top-five in points and, hopefully, bring home some wins for Zaxby’s. And we are thrilled to be back fielding Toyotas with Joe Gibbs Racing Engines."

Cole Custer won the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell Saturday afternoon at New Jersey Motorsports Park and will start on the pole for Sunday’s ARCA 150 presented by Unique Pretzels.

Custer is making his ARCA Racing Series debut this weekend in the No. 00 Haas Automation Chevrolet. His qualifying speed was 100.504 mph. Custer, who is both the youngest pole sitter and youngest winner in NASCAR Touring Series history, is driving the same car that Chase Elliott scored two top-five’s with at New Jersey Motorsports Park. He is a JR Motorsports development driver splitting his season among NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, ARCA and the NASCAR K&N Series. The listed team owner on the No. 00 is Wayne Peterson, longtime ARCA car owner.-ARCA Racing

Kyle Larson rounds out the top three in final practice for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in regard to 10-lap average speeds. His time was 184.085 mph, which was set during his first 10 laps on the track just like Kasey Kahne and Denny Hamlin.

Like Hamlin, Larson’s single fastest lap was well down the grid with a speed of 184.491 mph that was only 16th-best. Larson needs a good run this week and will probably get it, but there are safer fantasy options.
May 23 - 8:10 PM

Jimmie Johnson posted the second-quickest time in the morning session (of 17 drivers who went that distance) for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a speed of 187.437 mph during his first 10 laps on track. He was fifth quickest of 27 drivers in final practice.

Johnson should be able to record a top-10 finish, but a little more is expected of him at Charlotte. If he fits a niche he should be used, but there is no reason to rearrange a roster just to accommodate the No. 48.
May 23 - 7:48 PM

Denny Hamlin posted the second quickest average time in final practice for the Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a speed of 184.239 mph during his first 10 laps on the track.

Hamlin posted only the 14th fastest time during this practice, however, and he was 13th-fast in the morning session, which indicates he might need a few laps to get up to speed. That could be an issue if there is a late-race restart.
May 23 - 7:25 PM

Sprint Cup regular Austin Dillon won the Hisense 300 , his fourth victory in 87 NASCAR XFINITY Series races.

All four of Dillon's victories have been from the pole. This is the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet driver's second victory and seventh top-10 finish in 2015. It is his first victory and third top-10 finish in five NXS races at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
May 23 - 5:20 PM

Matt Tifft says his No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet can still find more speed.

"That’s the goal," Tifft said after posting the fastest time during the first ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards practice session at New Jersey Motorsports Park Saturday. Tifft led speed charts early on Thunderbolt Raceway with a high speed of 97.609 mph. Robert Mitten made a late surge to finish second, David Levine third, Tom Hessert fourth and Cole Custer fifth in the first practice session. Tifft finished third last year at NJMP. Kasey Kahne posted the quickest average speed in the final practice for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. His average speed of 184.632 mph was set in his first 10 laps on the course during the session.

Kahne also had the second-fastest lap in this practice, which gives him a good balance of speed and consistency. Coupled with a strong Charlotte record, he remains a top value.
May 23 - 2:12 PM

Sprint Cup regular Austin Dillon won the Coors Light Pole Award for the Hisense 300 with a lap of 29.250 seconds, 184.615 mph.

This is the No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet Camaro driver's 14th pole in 87 NASCAR XFINITY Series races. This is his fourth pole and eighth top-10 start in 2015. It is Dillon's second pole in five NXS races at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
May 23 - 2:09 PM

Kurt Busch was fastest in the morning session and he repeated that feat in final practice for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. During the afternoon his fastest laps was logged at 188.653 mph during the heat of the day.

Drivers have to make the transition from day to night, which means the track undergoes many changes. The ability to adjust is a big key to success, so Busch leading both sessions is a high recommendation.
May 23 - 2:07 PM

Kurt Busch posted the fastest single lap in Saturday morning’s practice session with a speed of 192.644 mph, which was significantly faster than his qualification speed of 191.714 mph that landed him 14th on the grid.

Busch has plenty of time to climb up the order on Sunday night and he has been one of the best values in every unrestricted, intermediate speedway race this year. He is highly recommended to fantasy owners.
May 23 - 11:04 AM

David Ragan spun off turn four and through the infield grass with less than 10 minutes remaining in the second practice session for the Coca-Cola 600. He did not make contact with the wall or another car and will not need to roll out a backup.

Drivers find the edge of control by occasionally going over it. Ragan’s fantasy handicap is unchanged by this incident. He had the fourth-fastest single lap in that session.
