Joey Gase will be returning to the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2014 with #52-Jimmy Means Racing after the team ended the 2013 season on a good note at Phoenix International Raceway.

Gase has partnered up with Db Sales Company and Donate Life for his sponsors for select races throughout the 2014 season. The team is still working hard on securing a primary full time sponsor for the 2014 season. "The goal for the season is to finish in the top 30 in owner points and top 20 in driver points" Gase said. Also, Gase would like to beat his previous top finish of 19th and regularly finish in top 25 on a weekly basis.(Joey Gase PR)-jayski.com

Daniel Suarez (#19 ARRIS Toyota Camry) finished seventh in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Sparks Energy 300 at Alabama's Talladega Superspeedway.

He started second on the grid and completed all laps of the 116-lap race (led two laps). Suarez, who was the series leader heading into this race, drops to second in the 2016 NXS championship standings after this event. Both Suarez and Elliott Sadler (winner of this race) have 314 points but the tie breaker is wins (Suarez is winless).

Justin Allgaier (#7 Breyers Chevrolet Camaro) finished second in Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Sparks Energy 300 at Alabama's Talladega Superspeedway.

He started 18th on the grid and completed all laps of the 116-lap race. Allgaier, who has competed in all nine series races so far this season, advanced three spots to fourth in the 2016 NXS championship standings after this event.
May 2 - 2:52 PM

Chase Briscoe (#77 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge) finished third in Friday's ARCA Racing Series General Tire 200 at Talladega (AL) Superspeedway.

He started 20th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 74-lap race. John Wes Townley, points leader heading into this race and driving a partial ARCA schedule, did not enter this event. Briscoe passes him in the series points to become the leader in the 2016 ARCA championship standings. He leads Josh Williams (who finished second in the race) by 15 points after this event.
May 2 - 2:41 PM

Josh Williams (#6 Musselman's Big Cup Applesauce Ford) finished second in Friday's ARCA Racing Series rain-shortened General Tire 200 at Talladega (AL) Superspeedway.

He started 14th on the grid and completed all laps of the 74-lap event. Williams, who competed in all four series races so far this season, advanced to second in the 2016 ARCA championship standings, 15 points behind leader Chase Briscoe.
May 2 - 2:32 PM

Tom Hessert turned in another Talladega gem only to settle for a fourth place finish during Friday’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menard General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Hessert (#25 RelaxWraps.com - Cometic Toyota), started on the pole, led a race high 23-laps, but came up short during one of the most exciting ARCA restrictor plate races in recent memory. Continuing a trend as a force to be reckoned with at restrictor plate races, Hessert, who won Talladega in 2014, ran out of fuel leading the race last year on the final lap, only makes the case stronger as a pre-race favorite when the series returns in 2017.-Venturini Motorsports
May 2 - 2:26 PM

Carl Edwards had been running on the lead lap for 28 consecutive races entering the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway. He sustained damage in two separate incidents on the restrictor-plate, superspeedway and not only failed to finish on the lead lap, he was not running at the end of the race.

Edwards was credited with a 35th-place finish after completing 109 laps. That was an ignominious end for the winner of the last two races this season, but he will dust off and head to Kansas Speedway with the rest of the field.
May 2 - 1:17 PM

Joey Logano wrecked hard on the final lap of Saturday’s XFINITY race and he crashed hard again in the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway on lap 182 of 188. He failed to finish the race and was credited with a 25th-place result.

His failure to finish was significant because it was the first time in 62 races that he was not running at the end of a Cup race. The last time he failed to finish was at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in July 2014. That DNF was also caused by an accident.
May 2 - 1:16 PM

David Gilliland was running fifth when he took the white flag in the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway, but he got shuffled out of the draft on that final lap and finished 17th.

After starting 39th, however, he still managed to earn a lot of points for his fantasy owners with the place-differential. He will see this as one that got away, but with a lead lap finish in a race that featured 10 caution flags—mostly for major incidents—his fantasy owners should be proud of his accomplishment.
May 2 - 1:15 PM

Dale Earnhardt Jr. brought out the first caution of the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway when he spun without contact on lap 51. The same thing happened to him at Daytona International Speedway this February, which makes this his second unforced error in as many restrictor-plate, superspeedway races.

Last year Earnhardt swept the top-three positions in four races on the plate tracks. Now with back-to-back sub-35th-place results, his value in the upcoming Coke Zero 400 will be brought into question.
May 2 - 1:12 PM

Trevor Bayne was in a position to win the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway in the closing laps, but he got shuffled from the draft and finished 10th.

He led 22 laps near the end of the show, however, and banked some points for his fantasy players. More importantly, this is his second top-10 in the last three races and his worst result in the past four was a 17th at Richmond. That makes him fantasy relevant heading to a track type that was once very kind to Roush-Fenway Racing.
May 1 - 6:43 PM

Ryan Blaney earned his third top-10 of the season in the 10th race of 2016. He finished ninth after starting the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway 19th.

Blaney has been lagging behind fellow rookie Chase Elliott and did so again this week. Elliott finished fifth, but that has not made Blaney a bad value. He is less expensive in most salary cap games and proved that he is capable of running with the leaders when he stays out of trouble.
