Veteran NASCAR crew chief Brad Parrott has signed with Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) to be the crew chief of driver Mason Mitchell and the No. 98 Ford Fusion for the 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season.

Parrott brings more than 10 years of NASCAR Nationwide experience and 18 victories to Mason Mitchell Motorsports. The veteran crew chief has visited victory lane with NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers Jeff Burton, Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Casey Mears, Juan Pablo Montoya and, most recently, Reed Sorenson.

Chandler Smith (No. 20 Smith General Contracting Toyota) was credited with a 10th place DNF in Sunday's ARCA Racing Series Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

He started on the pole, led a race-high 117 laps and completed 199 laps of the 200-lap race before exiting the event (Accident on last lap). Smith, who competed in two of the three ARCA races so far this season, is currently 12th in the 2018 driver championship standings after this event.

Justin Allgaier (No. 7 TradeMark Nitrogen Chevrolet) heads to Talladega fifth in the NXS point standings, 48 markers behind leader and teammate Elliott Sadler.

In seven NXS starts at Talladega, he has two top-five and five top-10 finishes. He’s finished inside the top eight in his five most recent series starts, including a runner-up finish in 2016. Last year, Allgaier led 24 of 113 laps, coming home with an eighth-place finish at the superspeedway.-JRM

Brandon Grosso (No. 52 FDP Friction Science Ford) finished ninth in Sunday's ARCA Racing Series Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

He started 17th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 200-lap race. Grosso competed in two of the three ARCA races so far this year and is currently 13th in the 2018 driver championship standings after this event.

Josh Berry (No. 22 Big Tine/Root's RV Sales Ford) finished fourth in Sunday's ARCA Racing Series Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

He started second in the lineup, led 10 laps completed all laps of the 200-lap race. Berry competed in only one of the three ARCA races so far this year and is currently 22nd in the 2018 driver championship standings after this event.

Elliott Sadler’s third-place finish at Richmond brought the No. 1 JR Motorsports team its sixth top-five finish of the season, the $100,000 Dash 4 Cash prize and a qualifying position for Talladega’s Xfinity Dash 4 Cash event.

In four of the last seven NXS races at Talladega Superspeedway, Sadler has either started from first (2011, 2012) or claimed the victory (2014, 2016)—the most of any series regular. In addition, the Virginia native has four top fives and six top 10s in just nine NXS starts at the track. In his last three starts at traditional restrictor-plate races, Sadler has finished runner-up, narrowly missing the victory in each event.-JRM

Spencer Gallagher will make his second NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) start at Talladega Superspeedway.

The No. 23 Allegiant team will utilize chassis No. 211. This chassis has been run one time by Gallagher this season at Daytona International Speedway (Start:4th/Finish:6th). After finishing 16th at Richmond Raceway, Gallagher sits eighth in the NXS driver point standings heading into Talladega.-GMS Racing

This will be Dylan Lupton’s first NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

The No. 28 thinQ Technology Partners Ford Mustang driver made one start at Talladega in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2016, finishing 12th. Lupton had a strong performance in the season-opening restrictor-plate race at Daytona International Speedway until a crash took him out of contention with just six laps remaining.-JGL Racing

Blaine Perkins will make his first start of the 2018 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards seasons this Friday in the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

It'll also mark his debut at Talladega, driving Mason Mitchell's No. 98 Auto Parkit-Four Star Fruit Chevrolet. Perkins who turned 18 just two weeks after the season opener at Daytona, tested at Talladega last November. He earned a top-10 finish in his ARCA debut last fall at Kentucky Speedway and is planning to make five starts total for Mason Mitchell Motorsports in 2018.

Leilani Munter is feeling pretty good about her next ARCA race; that would be the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway coming this Friday, April 27.

And as well she should. The Rochester Minn. driver is coming off her career-best finish in the season-opener at Daytona where she steered the No. 20 Vegan Strong Toyota to an 8th-place finish after qualifying a career-best 5th. Munter is one of four entries received from Venturini Motorsports for Talladega. She'll join teammates Michael Self, Natalie Decker and Brandon Lynn for ARCA's 56th race at the 2.66-mile superspeedway. Like Daytona, her crew chief will be 10-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion Frank Kimmel.

This will be Kaz Grala’s first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Talladega Superspeedway and second restrictor-plate race of the season.

In this year’s previous restrictor-plate race (Daytona), Grala clawed his way up from a 27th-place starting spot and survived the record number of cautions to finish fourth, his best NXS result of 2018. Grala won his first-career superspeedway race in NASCAR, earning both the pole and checkered flag at Daytona in the Truck Series. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Grala has one previous start at Talladega, which resulted in a lap-18 crash, which took him out of the race and eliminated him from the NCWTS Playoffs.-JGL Racing

Matt Kenseth is returning to the NASCAR Cup Series to drive Roush Fenway Racing’s No. 6 car in select races this season, multiple sources told SB Nation.

Kenseth will share the No. 6 Ford for the remainder of the 2018 season with Trevor Bayne, who has driven the car on a full-time basis since 2015 but will now move to part-time status rounding out the races Kenseth does not compete in. RFR will announce the news at a press conference scheduled for Wednesday at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. Kenseth’s first race with Roush Fenway is expected to be May 12 at Kansas Speedway.
