Five cars topped the 183 mph barrier Wednesday afternoon in the second ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards test session at Talladega Superspeedway. Cunningham Motorsports driver Tom Hessert was the only driver, however, to top the 184 mph mark.

Justin Boston, who had the top morning session speed, led a parade of Venturini Motorsports drivers in the test as the trio – including Boston, John Wes Townley and Leilani Munter – finished 2-3-4 on the afternoon speed charts. "The car was really good in single car runs, then we went back out with a group of cars in the afternoon and put up a good time," Hessert said. "It's definitely a testament to the guys back in the Cunningham Motorsports shop."

Ken Schrader Racing opted out of the Talladega test and steered their rig north to test at another favorite stop on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards tour – the historic Salem Speedway.

Schrader is scheduled to test all day at Salem in preparation of the next event on tour – the Federated Auto Parts 200 presented by Crunch ‘N Nutter at Salem April 27. Schrader finished fourth at Salem last year, behind winner/rookie Kyle Benjamin, rookie Kyle Weatherman and Frank Kimmel. Schrader, who has 17 career ARCA wins overall in 64 career starts, has just one win at Salem in 1999.

Frank Kimmel has won more ARCA races at Salem than anyone else, reaching back to his first win there on April 19, 1998.

Since then, the 10-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion has racked up nine wins total at Salem. That’s the good part. The not-so-good part is that he hasn’t been back to the Salem winner’s circle since September of 2008. "And we may never win again at Salem – it’s way too hard to predict," said Kimmel, driver of the No. 44 Ansell-Menards Toyota. "There are just way too many variables that can get in the way there."According the Kimmel, Salem is the great equalizer.
