Eric McClure will make a return to NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series, joining Front Row Motorsports for the season-opening Daytona 500 in the No. 35 Ford Fusion.

The veteran driver will carry the support of Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® as primary sponsor in what would be his first start in "The Great American Race." McClure is an 11-year veteran of NASCAR's Nationwide Series. He earned a career-best eighth-place finish at Daytona International Speedway last February in the Nationwide Series' season opener. The 35-year-old Chilhowie, Va., native also has three career Sprint Cup starts. The Daytona 500 would be his first Cup start for Front Row Motorsports.-Breaking Limits

Ruben Garcia Jr. was out front nearly all Sunday at El Dorado Speedway en route to his second career NASCAR Mexico Series victory.

The 19-year-old NASCAR Next driver qualified second in his No. 88 Canel’s/Scotiabank/HDI Toyota for the Coca-Cola Zero 240, which concluded at 232 laps upon reaching the two-hour time limit. Garcia held off a number of late challengers, including championship points leader Irwin Vences. Vences settled for second and remains nine points ahead of Ruben Pardo, who finished third. Rodrigo Peralta and Luis Felipe Montano finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Grant Enfinger finished second in Sunday's ARCA Racing Series race at Indiana's Winchester Speedway.

He started the No. 23 GMS Racing Chevrolet third in the lineup for the Herr's Chase the Taste 200. He led 34 laps of the 200-lap event. Enfinger continues as the points leader in the 2015 ARCA Racing Series Championship standings. He leads Josh Williams (finished seventh in the race) by 115 points.

Sam Hornish Jr. scored his second top-10 of the season with a 10th at Sonoma Raceway in the Toyota / Save Mart 350. His previous top-10 was a sixth earned in the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway.

Both of these strong runs came on wild card tracks, but they are worth noting. Next week the series rolls into Daytona for the Coke Zero 400. Hornish could be an interesting sleeper pick for that event.
Jun 28 - 8:32 PM

Ryan Newman snapped a four-race streak of finishes outside the top 10 when he crossed under the checkers ninth in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

Newman has not earned a top-five in his last eight races of the season, however, and he sits 16th in the standings. With Kyle Busch’s victory, the No. 18 driver could dislodge one of the top 16 points’ earners if he manages to climb into the top 30 in the standings and that should create a sense of urgency for drivers on the bubble.
Jun 28 - 8:24 PM

Kasey Kahne finished eighth in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway, which was directly behind his teammates Jimmie Johnson in sixth and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in seventh.

The direct lineup of Hendrick Motorsports drivers is undoubtedly a coincidence, but their consistency suggests the teams work well together. That is something fantasy owners want to bear in mind the next time the series rolls onto a track that is traditionally kind to the organization as a whole.
Jun 28 - 8:18 PM

Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished eighth in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway to earn his fourth top-12 finish in the last five road course races.

Road course races are often see-saw affairs; Earnhardt spent about 65 laps (59%) among the top 10. This will increase his confidence before the series rolls into Watkins Glen International in a few weeks and could make him an interesting choice.
Jun 28 - 8:12 PM

Jimmie Johnson stayed out on old tires with eight laps remaining and could not hold off five drivers in the closing circuits of the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. He finished sixth after leading 45 of the 110 laps.

With four wins to his credit, Johnson had nothing to lose by staying out. Players need to constantly be aware of the position in which their fantasy drivers find themselves and evaluate the risk of starting them. Johnson’s sixth-place finish earned just enough points to make him a good, but not great value.

Justin Bonsignore passed Timmy Solomito in Turn 3 on Lap 9 and waited out a rain delay and a late charge by Todd Szegedy to score his seventh career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour win.

This was the second career tour win for Bonsignore at Riverhead as the Holtsville, New York, native won at his home track in 2011 in his first career victory. The race was slowed seven times for caution with Shawn Solomito and Donny Lia involved in the only multi-car incident in the race on Lap 39. The race also featured a 45 minute red flag for rain to set up the final 51-lap sprint to the finish.

Austin Wayne Self passed Brandon Jones with six laps remaining in the (ARCA Racing Series) Herr’s Chase the Taste 200 presented by Federated Car Care Sunday at Winchester Speedway and then all he had to do, he said, was stay focused on victory lane.

Self, in the No. 98 AM Technical Solutions-Pirate Energy Ford, made slight contact with Jones in turn four, reminiscent of last year’s race when Jones passed Mason Mitchell for the win on lap 199. Mitchell is the team owner of the No. 98. Jones led almost half of the race – 98 laps – before finishing third in the No. 25 Ansell-Menards Toyota.

Joey Logano scored his third top-10 in the last four road course races when he crossed under the checkers fifth in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

That was only his second top-five during his career on this track type with the first coming in 2011 at the Glen. He will be on fantasy owners’ radar screens this August, but probably will not make a lot of rosters until he records another strong run.
Jun 28 - 6:58 PM

Kevin Harvick had to overcome a mistake in the pits when his car fell off the jack and mired him in heavy traffic. He picked his way to the front and was in position to charge hard in the closing laps and record a fourth-place finish in the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

Last week a tire problem occurred too close to the end of the race for Harvick to overcome and he finished 29th. He had one other bad result at Bristol Motor Speedway this spring but immediately rebounded with six consecutive top-20s. Expect the same kind of streak now with the possible exception of Daytona International Speedway next week—which is unpredictable.
