Michael Waltrip Racing announced a partnership with Jay Robinson Racing enabling the No. 66 Toyota Camry to race in all 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup events.

Waltrip will drive the No. 66 in the Daytona 500 and again in the May Talladega race. Jeff Burton will race the No. 66 in six to eight races during the season, including his first race on March 9 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Robinson has named Joe Nemechek as the primary driver for the remainder of the races. BlueDEF will sponsor MWR’s No. 66 Toyota that Waltrip will drive in a bid to win his third Daytona 500 on Feb. 23.-Michael Waltrip Racing

Joey Logano led the first 94 laps of the Toyota Owners 400 and then fell back outside the top five for a long time during the middle of the race. He rebounded in the final sequence and narrowly edged Kasey Kahne for fifth on the three-quarter-mile Richmond International Raceway.

This is a pattern that has been repeating itself with regularity this season. Since Logano has been able to overcome these problems and finish in the top 10 nearly every week, he remains one of the best fantasy options. This was his fifth top-five and eighth top-10 in the first nine races of 2015.

Jamie McMurray had the fastest car on long green flag runs, but the end of the race developed yellow fever. McMurray’s fourth-place finish in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway was his second top-five of the year.

This top-five was important because it did not come as the result of a strategy call like the one at Phoenix International Raceway. McMurray is cementing his position in the top 16 in points and making the No. 1 increasingly fantasy relevant.

Ken Schrader (No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet) broke his own record as the oldest winner in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards history, winning the Federated Auto Parts 200 at Salem (IN) Speedway.

Schrader, who turns 60 next month, held several challengers over the last 50 laps to win for the first time at Salem since 1999. Kyle Weatherman finished second, Dominic Ursetta third and J.J. Haley fourth in front of a big crowd under sunny skies at Salem Speedway. It was the 97th ARCA race at the high-banked, half-mile.-ARCA Racing Series

Jimmie Johnson struggled badly in practice and rolled off the grid 36th Sunday afternoon. He carved his way to the front easily and scored his fourth top-five of the year.

Equally important three of these top-fives came after he qualified outside the top 25 (Atlanta Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway). In addition to race points, Johnson earned major place differential points, which has made him one of the top values in those events.

Kevin Harvick fell outside of the top five at the three-quarter mark of the Toyota Owners 400, but he battled back at the end of the race and finished second to his teammate Kurt Busch.

Harvick led only two laps—both under caution—but he was in contact with the leaders most of the day. He remains a place-and-hold driver for the foreseeable future.
Apr 26 - 4:32 PM

Kurt Busch led the most laps in the Toyota Owners 400 and won in dominant fashion. After missing the first three races of the season to suspension, he is now in Chase contention.

Busch came close to winning in his first two races back at Phoenix International Raceway and Auto Club Speedway with a fifth and third respectively. He has been a fantasy favorite every week and final earned maximum points.

A persistent and steady rain has postponed the Toyota Owners 400 to Sunday with a scheduled air time of 1 PM Eastern. It will be shown on the Fox Network.

Joey Logano won this race last year and he will lead the field to green when it finally gets going. Denny Hamlin will join him on the front row.

Ryan Preece, of Berlin, Connecticut, laid down a fast lap of 17.960 seconds (100.223 mph) to score his 13th career Coors Light Pole Award. He just missed the tour’s track record – that he owns – by 0.036 seconds.

It was Preece’s fourth career pole at Stafford overall, but third for the NAPA Spring Sizzler 200, Stafford’s traditional season-opening event. He set that track record prior to the 2012 edition. Preece has three career Whelen Modified Tour wins at the historic half-mile, but has not yet captured the Sizzler checkers.

Jeb Burton will get to race in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway but he will do so in the No. 23 Toyota for BK Racing and not his usual No. 26 Toyota.

The team announced via its Twitter handle that Burton, a Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate who failed to qualify on Friday for the 43-car field at Richmond, would instead be piloting the No. 23 Toyota in place of J.J. Yeley. Yeley was slated to start 39th in the race. Because this is a driver change, Burton will have to start at the rear. Burton failed to qualify Friday but has a sponsor this weekend, so he will move into that car for this race. Yeley will be back in the No. 23 car next weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.-NASCAR.com

Woody Pitkat (No. 88 Buzz Chew Chevrolet) leads the lone practice for Sunday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour NAPA Sprint Sizzler 200 at Connecticut’s Stafford Motor Speedway.

The 99.922 mph lap was the quickest of the 33 cars out on the track for this session. No. 6 Ryan Preece, No. 58 Eric Goodale, No. 4 Todd Szegedy and No. 16 Timmy Solomito are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 01 Melissa Fifield was the slowest.

When you are racing for $10,000 and bragging rights anything can happen, and it did Thursday night during the final lap of the Eighth Annual Denny Hamlin Short Track Challenge.

Danville, Virginia native, Timothy Peters avoided a spinning Lee Pulliam on the final lap of the green-white-checkered finish to claim his first win in the charity race at his home track. Peters started second to Pulliam on Lap 208 and the two raced side-by-side for the lead at the white flag. Denny Hamlin started in the top 10 but had his night end early, after suffering a valve train problem that sent him to the garage on Lap 69.
