The custom scooter Tony Stewart used to move around following an Aug. 5 sprint car crash that broke his right leg has been donated to the Darrell Gwynn Foundation.

The scooter, with a No. 14 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet SS paint scheme, will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson event April 11-13 in Palm Beach, FL. Stewart signed the scooter, as well as a 16x20 picture of him on the scooter. In addition, the winning bid gets signed race-worn Bass Pro Shops firesuit, trip for two people to be his guests at the July 3-5 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona (airfare, a three-night hotel stay and garage passes all covered by Stewart, and two reserved seats on the No. 14 team’s pit box to watch the race). Kurt Busch finished sixth in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to extend his top-10 streak on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks to 12 consecutive races.

This streak dates back to last year’s SpongeBob SquarePants 400 at Kansas Speedway, and in that span of races on this track type he has averaged a result of 6.7. Winning one’s fantasy league is not only about having the winning driver on the roster, but often about who accompanies him.

Brad Keselowski earned his first top-five in his last five Charlotte Motor Speedway attempts when he crossed under the checkers of the Coca-Cola 600 fifth.

His last top-five on this was a victory in fall 2013, but he earned three top-10s in the intervening four races. Keselowski started the day fifth and was please to finish there because he slipped from fifth to 10th in the GoBowling.com 400 at Kansas Speedway, which was the most recent race on this track type.

Denny Hamlin finished the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the fourth-position after starting the day on the outside of the second row—in fourth.

After the race, Hamlin said they had a fourth-place car and he was happy to have finished there. This team and driver have made several mistakes in the pits that cost them a shot at a top-10, so his fantasy owners concurred.

"I kind of felt like he was playing with us," Jimmie Johnson said of Martin Truex Jr. in post-race coverage after finishing the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in third. Johnson did not sound terribly upset, however, because this stopped a three-race skid of finishes outside the top 15 on the track.

Last year was a miserable one for Johnson at Charlotte. He finished 40th in this race with crash damage and was 39th in the fall after blowing an engine, but once upon a time he dominated the 1.5-mile similarly-configured, 1.5-mile track with seven victories to his credit.

Kevin Harvick had a top-10 car before night fell, but once the sun went down he really picked up the pace. Harvick drove past Jimmie Johnson in the final green flag run and thought he would catch Martin Truex Jr. He finished 2.573 seconds behind the winner, however, in second.

Harvick was still one of the best values in the game, however. He earned six place-differential points after starting eighth and scored his sixth consecutive top-10 on one of the similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks. This was his second runner-up finish in a row, having crossed under the checkers behind Kyle Busch in the GoBowling.com 400 at Kansas Speedway.

It has been quite some time since NASCAR has seen domination like the series witnessed in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600. He led at the 100-, 200-, 300-, 400-, 500-, and 600-mile mark. Truex led 392 laps and posted 106 fastest laps to make him the driver no fantasy player could win without.

The only drama associated with Truex was wondering if anything would go wrong in the final laps. Truex had dominant performances earlier this season at Kansas Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway before bad luck and pit strategy cost him. He was so popular that practically every player had him on their roster, so while one could not win without him—the No. 78 did not help differentiate any lineups.

After finishing second at New Jersey Motorsports Park in 2009, Parker Kligerman can finally check this track off of his list.

Kligerman, who made his ARCA debut on this same track back in 2008 and started on the pole for this race, took the checkered flag in the Twilight 150 presented by Unique Pretzels coming in more than three seconds over second-place finisher Tom Hessert. Hessert, who started at the tail in the beginning of the race worked his way to the middle of the pack quickly and never looked back. Venturini teammate Dalton Sargeant followed in third. Chase Briscoe and David Levine came in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Sprint Cup driver Denny Hamlin (#11 Toyota Camry) won the Hisense 300, his 15th victory in 154 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races.

This is the #18 Hisense USA Toyota Camry driver's first NXS victory and first top-10 finish in 2016. It is his first victory and seventh top-10 finish in 11 NXS races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS). Austin Dillon (second) posted his fifth top-10 finish in seven NXS races at CMS. Joey Logano (third) posted his eighth top-10 finish in 12 NXS races at CMS. Brandon Jones (seventh) was the highest finishing rookie. Daniel Suarez leads the point standings by 14 points over Elliott Sadler.

Martin Truex Jr.’s dominance of the Coca-Cola 600 weekend continued in final practice. He posted the fastest single lap in that session after setting the quickest 10 consecutive laps in Saturday morning’s session and winning the pole on Thursday night.

Truex may not win the race, but he should easily be one of the best fantasy values in any game. He is poised to repeat his Texas Motor Speedway and Kansas Speedway performance. In those games, he earned the most points in salary cap games.
May 28 - 1:59 PM

Jimmie Johnson posted the second-quickest lap in Saturday morning’s practice session with a speed of 186.076 set during his first 10 laps on the circuit.

Johnson rolls off the grid seventh and has a knack for Charlotte that should allow him to race with the leaders most of the afternoon/evening. He has not been the same dominant driver fantasy owners have come to expect, however, and is unlikely to lead a lot of laps early or to set many fastest laps.
May 28 - 11:20 AM

Martin Truex Jr. posted the quickest time in Saturday morning’s practice for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. His 10-lap average speed of 186.625 mph came in his first 10 laps on the track.

Truex rolls off the pole and this balance of long-run speed with that track position is going to allow him to record some early laps led. That should factor into the decision to start him in most fantasy games.
