Trevor Bayne (No. 6 Ford) wins the Mobil 1 Driver of the Race award at Daytona in the Nationwide Series.

The award is given to the winner of the race or the next-highest finishing driver displaying the Mobil 1 decal. He earned the award for his 3rd place finish in the Nationwide Series DRIVE4COPD 300 at Daytona International Speedway. Bayne is 2nd in the 2014 NNS point standings.

Spencer Gallagher will make his second NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) start at Talladega Superspeedway.

The No. 23 Allegiant team will utilize chassis No. 211. This chassis has been run one time by Gallagher this season at Daytona International Speedway (Start:4th/Finish:6th). After finishing 16th at Richmond Raceway, Gallagher sits eighth in the NXS driver point standings heading into Talladega.-GMS Racing

This will be Dylan Lupton’s first NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway.

The No. 28 thinQ Technology Partners Ford Mustang driver made one start at Talladega in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2016, finishing 12th. Lupton had a strong performance in the season-opening restrictor-plate race at Daytona International Speedway until a crash took him out of contention with just six laps remaining.-JGL Racing

Blaine Perkins will make his first start of the 2018 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards seasons this Friday in the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

It'll also mark his debut at Talladega, driving Mason Mitchell's No. 98 Auto Parkit-Four Star Fruit Chevrolet. Perkins who turned 18 just two weeks after the season opener at Daytona, tested at Talladega last November. He earned a top-10 finish in his ARCA debut last fall at Kentucky Speedway and is planning to make five starts total for Mason Mitchell Motorsports in 2018.

Leilani Munter is feeling pretty good about her next ARCA race; that would be the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway coming this Friday, April 27.

And as well she should. The Rochester Minn. driver is coming off her career-best finish in the season-opener at Daytona where she steered the No. 20 Vegan Strong Toyota to an 8th-place finish after qualifying a career-best 5th. Munter is one of four entries received from Venturini Motorsports for Talladega. She'll join teammates Michael Self, Natalie Decker and Brandon Lynn for ARCA's 56th race at the 2.66-mile superspeedway. Like Daytona, her crew chief will be 10-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards champion Frank Kimmel.

This will be Kaz Grala’s first NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Talladega Superspeedway and second restrictor-plate race of the season.

In this year’s previous restrictor-plate race (Daytona), Grala clawed his way up from a 27th-place starting spot and survived the record number of cautions to finish fourth, his best NXS result of 2018. Grala won his first-career superspeedway race in NASCAR, earning both the pole and checkered flag at Daytona in the Truck Series. In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Grala has one previous start at Talladega, which resulted in a lap-18 crash, which took him out of the race and eliminated him from the NCWTS Playoffs.-JGL Racing

Matt Kenseth is returning to the NASCAR Cup Series to drive Roush Fenway Racing’s No. 6 car in select races this season, multiple sources told SB Nation.

Kenseth will share the No. 6 Ford for the remainder of the 2018 season with Trevor Bayne, who has driven the car on a full-time basis since 2015 but will now move to part-time status rounding out the races Kenseth does not compete in. RFR will announce the news at a press conference scheduled for Wednesday at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. Kenseth’s first race with Roush Fenway is expected to be May 12 at Kansas Speedway.

JP Motorsports (JPM) announces that full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, Jennifer Jo Cobb, will pilot its #55 Toyota Camry in this Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Sparks Energy 300 at the Talladega Superspeedway.

This will be Cobb's first NXS race of the season, who is fresh off of her NASCAR Whelen Euro Series debut in Valencia, Spain where she raced the #10 Motorvision.TV Chevrolet for Racing-Total Team from Germany. Cobb will continue to race full-time in the NCWTS but is also seeking sponsorship opportunities to race more with JPM in the NXS series.-ESPN

It was one for the ages, especially for Middletown, N.Y.'s Christian Eckes who held off a hungry pack over the final 50 laps to earn his career-first ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards victory Sunday afternoon at Salem Speedway.

Eckes, in the No. 15 JBL Audio Toyota for Venturini Motorsports, first fought off Zane Smith, then held back the nonstop hard charge from Chandler Smith to win the 103rd running of the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200. Zane Smith, in the No. 41 LaPaz Margarita Mix Toyota, held off his MDM Motorsports teammate Sheldon Creed to finish second. Creed, in the No. 28 United Rentals Toyota, came home third.

Elliott Sadler (No. 1 Chevrolet) finished third in Friday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond (VA) Raceway.

He started eighth on the grid, led 30 laps and completed all of the 250 laps run. Sadler retains his position as the points leader in the 2018 NXS championship standings after the event, leading Christopher Bell (winner of the ToyotaCare 250) by 29 points.

Tyler Reddick (No. 9 BurgerFi Chevrolet) finished 11th in Friday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway.

He started 10th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 250 laps run. Reddick, who entered all eight NXS races so far this season, is currently third in the 2018 NXS driver championship point standings after this event, 31 points behind leader Elliott Sadler.

Daniel Hemric (No. 21 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet) finished 29th in Friday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway.

He started fourth in the lineup, led 11 laps and completed 246 laps of the 250 laps run. Hemric, who entered all eight NXS races so far this season, is currently fourth in the 2018 NXS driver championship point standings after this event, 38 points behind leader Elliott Sadler.
