Greg Biffle finishes 7th in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Phoenix International Raceway.

He started the No. 16 Ford Fusion 6th in the lineup for The Profit On CNBC 500. He is currently 10th in the 2014 NSCS point standings.

Bobby Labonte will get a chance to keep his perfect record of running in every Brickyard 400 held after getting the nod to drive a second Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet this week. In a field of 46 cars, he will need to qualify on time first, however.

Labonte has not scored a top-10 on this track since winning the 2000 edition for Joe Gibbs Racing, but he managed to finish on the lead lap in two of his last three starts with JTG-Daugherty Racing with a best of 17th in 2011. His equipment might not be quite as strong this week, but his skill should make up the difference and provide a top-25 finish.

Alex Bowman will make his first Indianapolis Motor Speedway Cup start this week, but fantasy owners can look to his flat track record to predict his finish. His last three starts on this track type ended in a 28th at Richmond, and 31st-place finishes at Pocono and New Hampshire.

Bowman has been relatively consistent with results hovering around the 30th-place mark on most track types. While this does not make him immediately fantasy relevant, it gives the team a solid set of notes from which to work and improve.

Austin Dillon will pilot a new chassis this week that has not been run in race conditions.

For Dillon a new car on a track where he has a single start provides a fresh beginning. That leaves fantasy owners with little to consider other than his practice times. Wait until final practice and qualification is in the books before deciding on whether to start or park him.

Brett Moffitt will get his third start of the season in the Michael Waltrip Racing No. 66 this week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Crown Royal 400.

It is beginning to look as if the organization is shopping him around to sponsors and a high profile race like the one at Indy is a great place to get exposure. This will force Moffitt to race conservatively in order to stay out of trouble, but he could gain some positions late in the event if attrition is high. He will be cheap in salary cap games, which could make him a great value.

All has not been perfect for Trevor Bayne this year, but he has been consistent on unrestricted speedways. His four attempts in 2014 at Las Vegas, Texas, Charlotte, Michigan each ended in either a 19th- or 20th-place finish.

Notably, all three of his plate race attempts ended outside the top 30, but since dark horses abound on that track type fantasy owners could quickly compensate. Some players will note his recent bad run at Daytona, which could be a chance for astute owners to use him to differentiate their roster.
Jul 25 - 10:25 AM

Tony Stewart will race a new chassis designated 14-827 this week. It has not seen race conditions, but performed exceptionally well in last December’s open test at Charlotte with teammate Kevin Harvick behind the wheel.

In that session, Harvick posted the fastest speed. Charlotte’s high banks provided a different set of circumstances than the flat corners it will face this week, but the team’s enthusiasm about the car echoes their feelings after Stewart returned to Victory Lane in a sprint car during the off week.

Matt Kenseth is still seeking his first 2014 win to solidify a position in the Chase. Two of his last three Indy attempts resulted in top-five finishes, so there is reason for his fantasy owners to be hopeful.

Players will also want to consider his flat track record this year. He finished sixth and fifth on the short tracks of Martinsville and Richmond. Last week, he spent the majority of the Camping World RV Sales 301 in the top 10 before scoring a fourth-place finish. Kenseth has some impressive near misses this year, but that could make the competition leery of starting him; he could make him a good differentiator on a player’s roster.
Jul 25 - 9:55 AM

Danica Patrick will run chassis 10-794 which has been utilized as a primary chassis on a few occasions and a backup several times this year.

This chassis last saw a complete race last September in Atlanta where she finished 21st. It was intended to be the primary at Bristol this spring but was sidelined following an accident in practice. Given the chassis’ checkered past, it might be best to leave Patrick in the garage on Sunday.

Most of David Stremme’s Indianapolis Motor Speedway success came behind the wheel of a Chip Ganassi Racing or Penske Racing South car, but he also managed to complete the distance in 2012 in the No. 30 owned by Timothy McSweeney. He finished 24th after starting 26th.

Flat tracks tend to be driver’s tracks, and while that is less noticeable in marquee races like the Brickyard 400, dark horses occasionally score top-25 finishes. Stremme will fly under the radar screen this week, which could provide an opportunity for fantasy players who are willing to roll the dice.
Jul 25 - 9:13 AM

David Ragan has earned three top-20 finishes and one pole at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His best result was a 14th in the 2008 edition of this race that was plagued by tire failures.

Ragan’s last taste of success at Indy was in his last ride with Roush-Fenway Racing. He won the pole for the 2011 Brickyard 400 and finished 23rd. In two starts with Front Row Motorsports he has failed to crack the top 25, so fantasy players should look elsewhere for their dark horse pick.
Jul 25 - 8:50 AM

Brad Keselowski will drive a new chassis this week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His backup is the same that he last drove at Kansas in the 5-hour Energy 400.

Fantasy owners will need to watch him closely in practice to see how this new chassis will run. If he is forced into the backup, Keselowski finished 13th in the Kansas race after spending approximately half of the time among the top 10. That was not one of his more dominant races so fantasy owners should not expect the same level of performance he showed last week in New Hampshire.
