Johnny Sauter's won two of the last three spring Martinsville Speedway NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races so he has no reason to believe he can't defend his victory in Saturday afternoon's Kroger 250.

After winning last season's Daytona kickoff, Sauter equaled some relatively unique NASCAR history by also winning the season's second race, at Martinsville -- something only five other drivers in NASCAR's national series history have done.-ThorSport Racing

Kevin Harvick will lead the Coca-Cola 600 field at Charlotte Motor Speedway to green Sunday night with a speed of 193.424 mph.

Harvick also led the field to green last fall in the Bank of America 500 but a blown engine sent him home 38th. Don’t worry too much though because prior to that he had two wins, three second-place finishes and a seven-race streak of top-10s on this track.

With a speed of 190.346 mph, Jimmie Johnson failed to advance to the second round of qualification for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and will roll off the grid 14th.

Johnson has plenty of room to improve during the race, but unless he looks strong in practice he will be a questionable value. This team has not exactly burned up the track in 2017.

In relief of Aric Almirola, Regan Smith was the first driver who failed to advance to the second round of qualification and will start 25th in the Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Smith felt he had a little more in the bank and that could be good news for fantasy owners looking for a bargain-priced driver. Watch the No. 43 closely in practice.
May 25 - 7:44 PM

Kyle Larson’s Chevrolet failed to clear inspection and as a result he did not make a qualification lap. He will line up at the tail end of the field for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Only he and Corey LaJoie failed to clear inspection this week, so Larson has a lot of cars ahead of him. The good news here is that he is going to make up a ton of place-differential points en route to a top-10 finish.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series regular Ryan Blaney, driving the No. 12 Snap-On Ford Mustang, had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in the XFINITY Series final practice for the Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The average speed of 179.673 mph was best of the 19 cars that ran at least 10 consecutive laps on the track for this final practice session. No. 2 Austin Dillon, No. 41 Kevin Harvick, No. 18 Christopher Bell and No. 42 Tyler Reddick on the rest of the top five on this list.
May 25 - 7:38 PM

William Byron (No. 9 Axalta Chevrolet Camaro) tops the speed chart in the Final Practice session for the XFINITY Series Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

He ran a fast lap of 182.716 mph. No. 18 Christopher Bell, No. 33 Brandon Jones, No. 23 Spencer Gallagher and No. 39 Ryan Sieg round out the top-five of the 37 cars out on the track. The No. 40 Dodge, driven by Austin Wayne Self, was the slowest in the final practice session.
May 25 - 7:37 PM

Justin Allgaier (No. 7 Breyers Chevrolet Camaro) had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in the first practice for the XFINITY Series Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

His average speed of 179.538 mph was best of the 11 cars that ran at least 10 consecutive laps on the track for this session. No. 19 Matt Tifft, No. 22 Brad Keselowski, No. 41 Kevin Harvick, and No. 20 Denny Hamlin make up the rest of the top five on this list.
May 25 - 5:56 PM

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series regular Ryan Blaney (No. 21 Ford), driving the No. 12 Snap-On Ford Mustang, led the first practice session for the XFINITY Series Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The lap of 182.834 mph was the best of the 42 cars completing laps in this session. No. 48 Brennan Poole, No. 20 Denny Hamlin, No. 22 Brad Keselowski and No. 2 Austin Dillon made up the rest of the top-five on the speed chart. The No. 40 Dodge driver, Austin Wayne Self, was the slowest.
May 25 - 5:52 PM

Erik Jones posted the fastest single lap in Thursday’s practice session for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway when most drivers were working on qualification trim.

His top speed of 192.713 mph was .035 seconds faster than Jimmie Johnson. Charlotte is a great showcase for young talent and veterans alike.
May 25 - 3:30 PM

Kyle Larson hit the wall hard exiting turn two during Thursday’s practice for the Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and appeared to do fairly major damage to his Chevrolet.

The car just shot up the track and took a hard lick on the right rear tire. This might necessitate the rolling out of a backup. He was seven minutes from the end of the session.
May 25 - 3:22 PM

Halfway through Thursday’s practice for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Clint Bowyer scraped the wall and flattened the right side of his Ford.

The damage did not appear to be major, but it doesn’t take much to hurt one’s car. This is a backup after he sustained damage in last week’s All-star race.
