Chase Elliott wins the 32nd Annual VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200, his second victory in seven NASCAR Nationwide Series races.

This is the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro driver's second victory and sixth top-10 finish in 2014. It was his first start ever at Darlington Raceway. Elliott becomes the youngest driver to win two NASCAR Nationwide Series races (18 years, 4 months, 14 days). He leads the Nationwide Series point standings by 13 points over JR Motorsports teammate Regan Smith.

In a substitute roll for Brian Vickers this week, Moffitt more than acquitted himself. He finished eighth in the Quik Trip 500 after starting the event 22nd.

Moffitt used a little strategy to gain track position late in the race, but he had to hold off determined charges from the likes of Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, and Carl Edwards. This was his first lead lap finish and he could be risky when he is in the No. 66 later in the season.

Matt Kenseth made the decision to stay out on old tires with 15 laps remaining and the gamble paid off with a fifth-place finish. For most of the day, even tires with only a handful of laps fell off quickly and sent drivers dropping rapidly to the back.

Kenseth is one of the best at handling a car with used tires and he proved as much this week. Fifth is a far cry from victory, but it seems unlikely that the No. 20 team will go winless two seasons in a row.

Joey Logano was the class of the field for more than 82 laps at the beginning of the Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500. After a couple of caution flags, the field improved but he remained the same. That cost the No. 22 a victory, but fantasy owners will be happy with points for fourth-place.

Along with last year’s champion Kevin Harvick, Logano is picking up where he left off at the end of 2014. This trend should have fantasy players thinking seriously about the impact of momentum on a driver even when it bridges the off-season.
Mar 1 - 6:39 PM

Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished third in the first two races of this season. Last week he was third in Daytona and he repeated that effort at Atlanta.

This was Earnhardt’s fifth top-10 and sixth top-15 in the last six races dating back to last fall’s Martinsville victory. He started last year with a three top-fives and should be considered one of the favorites next week at Las Vegas.
Mar 1 - 6:32 PM

Kevin Harvick finished second to Joey Logano last week at Daytona and he finished runner-up for a second consecutive week at Atlanta—this time to Jimmie Johnson. After blowing an engine in practice, he was forced to come from the back of the pack along with Johnson.

Harvick is closing in on a victory and in the meantime he is scoring a lot of fantasy points. Las Vegas is a similar track to Atlanta and Phoenix—where Harvick has dominated for the past two years—is also just around the corner, which makes Harvick a place-and-hold driver for the moment.

Failing to clear inspection in time to take a qualification lap on Friday, Jimmie Johnson had a lot of ground to make up in the Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500. He started 37th, cracked the top 10 by lap 40, led 92 laps, and scored his 71st Cup win.

This was also his 21st victory on a similarly-configured, 1.5-mile track and his second consecutive after winning at Texas last year. There are no more questions about what might be wrong with the No. 48 team.
Mar 1 - 6:18 PM

Kevin Harvick (engine change), Michael Annett (driver change), and Tony Stewart (missed drivers meeting) will officially drop to the back of the pack at Atlanta to start the Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500.

In the case of Stewart, he was already at the back because he failed to post a qualification time. Annett also does not have far to go based on Brian Scott’s attempt, but Harvick will have to give up his second-place spot on the grid and could be impacted by the change.

Chris Buescher moved into first place in the NASCAR XFINITY Series point standings after a fourth-place finish in his Fastenal Ford Mustang in Saturday afternoon’s 250-mile race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

After earning an 18th-place starting position during Saturday morning’s qualifying session, he quickly broke into the top-10 by Lap 17. With less than 30 laps remaining, the team visited pit road for the final time of the day, opting for four tires, fuel and a wedge adjustment. Buescher lined up fifth for the final restart. With eight laps remaining, he passed Paul Menard, moving into fourth. Buescher closed out the day in fourth, moving into first-place in the point standings, sharing the lead with Ty Dillon.-Roush Fenway Racing

Matt Crafton wins the Hyundai Construction Equipment 200, his sixth victory in 340 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.

This is the No. 88 Fisher Nuts/Menards Toyota Tundra driver's first victory and second top-10 finish in 2015. It is his first victory and eighth top-10 finish in 14 races at Atlanta Motor Speedway. With the victory today, Crafton moved up three spots to second in the 2015 NCWTS Championship standings, 2 points behind leader Tyler Reddick.

Sprint Cup regular Kevin Harvick wins the Hisense 250, his 45th victory in 317 NASCAR XFINITY Series races.

This is the No. 88 Bad Boy Buggies Chevrolet Camaro driver's fourth victory and 11th top-10 finish in 14 NXS races at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This is also Harvick's third consecutive NXS victory at the Hampton, Georgia track. He led a race-high 101 laps of the 163 lap event.
Feb 28 - 4:34 PM

Denny Hamlin has three top-10s in his last four Atlanta races. Starting fourth this weekend, he would like to make that four-for-five.

Hamlin posted the fourth-fastest time in final practice and had the quickest 10-lap average so he has a good shot at doing so. He should be considered one of the favorites this week.
