George Brunnhoelzl hasn’t enjoyed the type of season he’s used to in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, but picking up a win and setting a new record might help make him feel a little better.

Brunnhoelzl passed Andy Seuss on Lap 119 and remained out front the rest of the way to win the Caraway 150 at Caraway Speedway. Brunnhoelzl also used the win to break a tie with Seuss for the most tour wins at Caraway with his 13th triumph in the 60th race held at the unofficial home track for the southern modifieds. Points leader Burt Myers finished second with Jason Myers third. Seuss followed in fourth and Danny Bohn completed the top five.

Justin Bonsignore knows if he's going to catch Doug Coby in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship race, he's going to need to all the points he can get in the final three races and that means finding success at a place that's long plagued him: New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Mission accomplished for the Holtsville, New York, driver Saturday afternoon. Bonsignore dominated the FW Webb 100, lead 77 laps and holding off the field in a green-white-checkered finish to score his first win at the "Magic Mile." It was also Bonsignore's third win of the season. More importantly, it allowed him to slice seven more points off Coby's lead. Coby, the three-time tour champion, holds a 13-point advantage on Bonsignore with two races remaining. Ron Silk finished second, followed by Coby, Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate Matt Swanson and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman.
Sep 24 - 7:01 PM

William Byron (No. 9 Liberty University Toyota Tundra) won the UNOH 175, his sixth victory in 18 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races.

This is his sixth victory and 11th top-10 finish in 2016. Christopher Bell (second) posted his first top-10 finish in one race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). It is his eighth top-five and 12th top-10 finish in 2016. Matt Crafton (third) posted his ninth top-10 finish in 14 races at NHMS. Byron clinched a spot in the NCWTS Chase Round of 6 with the win.

Jeremy Gerstner (No. 15 GMR Lawncare/Carriage House Chevrolet) is at the top of the speed chart in the lone practice for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Caraway 150 at Caraway Speedway (Sophia, NC).

The 101.368 mph lap was the quickest of the 11 cars out on the track for the session. No. 11 Andy Seuss, No. 40 Danny Bohn, No. 28 George Brunnhoelzl and No. 14 Trey Hutchens are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 79 David Calabrese was the slowest in this practice.
Sep 24 - 5:03 PM

Jamie McMurray posted the 18th-fastest speed in final practice with a speed of 131.229 mph. That makes him one of only three Chase contenders who did not post a top-15 lap in this session.

The difference between making the second round and qualifying for it is going to be slim. McMurray needs to find speed overnight or use strategy to get to the top 10. He is not favored as one of this week’s top dark horses and should be used sparingly.
Sep 24 - 12:47 PM

Kasey Kahne posted the fastest single lap in final practice for the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway among non-playoff contenders. His speed of 132.489 mph was good enough for third on that chart.

Kahne has been resurgent in recent weeks with three consecutive top-10s. He should challenge for another finish in that range this week as Hendrick Motorsports finally seems to have regained their overall strength.
Sep 24 - 12:29 PM

Kyle Larson posted the fastest single lap in final practice for the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, which completed a perfect sweep of these sessions. He was also fastest on Friday and Saturday morning.

Larson was concerned about this race, but he seems to have found the rhythm he needs. It will pay to remember that he finished second and third in his first two New Hampshire attempts as a rookie and he seems to have regained that confidence.
