Kyle Busch finished second to Brad Keselowski at New Hampshire and Kentucky, which brought his top-10 average up to 47 percent at the end of the Camping World RV Sales 301.

Busch has to be disappointed with finishing in the runner-up position in those races to the same driver, but players should remember just how dominant Keselowski’s Ford was in each event. Busch and the Joe Gibbs Racing team could be poised to score another one or two victories before the Chase begins.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series regular Ryan Blaney (No. 21 Ford Fusion), driving the No. 12 Snap-On Ford Mustang, won the Hisense 4K TV 300, his fifth victory in 56 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races.

This is his first victory and fifth top-10 NXS finish in 2017. It is his first victory and third top-10 finish in five NXS races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS). Cup regular Kevin Harvick (second) posted his 18th top-10 finish in 28 NXS races at CMS and his third top-10 NXS finish in 2017. Austin Dillon (third), another Cup regular, posted his sixth top-10 finish in nine NXS races at CMS. Cole Custer (seventh) was the highest finishing Rookie of the Year contender. Elliott Sadler leads the NXS point standings by 6 points over Justin Allgaier.
May 27 - 4:27 PM

Kyle Larson posted the fastest single lap in final practice for the Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a speed of 186.400 mph.

Larson will have to roll off from the back of the pack because he was unable to clear inspection. He is going to earn a ton of place-differential points on his way to the front of the pack and should be on most fantasy rosters.
May 27 - 12:29 PM

Jordan Anderson (Mike Harmon's No. 74 Dodge) does not qualify for the XFINITY Series Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The team is not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s NXS race. Based on NASCAR’s time trial knockout procedure, upon completion of the first round of qualifying, the 40 eligible cars for starting positions one to 40 is determined. The car was listed as 42nd on the chart.
May 27 - 11:53 AM

Jeff Green (No. 78 Chevrolet) will miss the XFINITY Series Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The team is not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s NXS race. Based on NASCAR’s time trial knockout procedure, upon completion of the first round of qualifying, the 40 eligible cars for starting positions one to 40 is determined. The car was listed as 41st on the chart.
May 27 - 11:51 AM

Brad Keselowski clipped the wall early in final practice for the Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and spun into the infield grass.

It does not appear that Keselowski did much damage to his car and will probably not need to roll out a backup.
May 27 - 11:43 AM

Justin Allgaier won the Coors Light Pole Award for today's Hisense 4K TV 300 with a lap of 182.488 mph.

This is his fifth pole in 217 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) races. It is his first pole and fifth top-10 start in 2017 and his first pole in 14 races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS). Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series regular Austin Dillon (second) posted his sixth top-10 start of 2017 and his ninth in nine NXS races at CMS. Ryan Blaney (third), another Cup regular, posted his first top-10 start at CMS. It is his fourth in five NXS races this season. Daniel Hemric (fourth) was the fastest qualifying Rookie of the Year contender.
May 27 - 11:34 AM

Ross Chastain is going racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, and the Delaware Office of Highway Safety will be along for the ride.

Chastain is scheduled to make his debut in the Cup Series in the AAA 400 Drive for Autism June 4 at Dover International Speedway. He also will drive in the June 3 OneMain Financial 200 Xfinity Series race and the June 2 Bar Harbor 200 Camping World Truck Series race. His vehicles in all three events will carry sponsorship from the OHS in support of safe driving. Chastain’s entries will carry the familiar theme of "Protect Your Melon" for the Dover races. Chastain is involved with Florida watermelon growers, so the idea of buckling up and "protecting your melon" fits perfectly.
May 27 - 11:22 AM

Ryan Blaney posted the single fastest lap in Saturday morning’s practice for the Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway session with a speed of 188.055 mph.

This will be Blaney’s fifth attempt at Charlotte and he has not yet cracked the top 10. His best starting position before this week was a 16th and he will lineup seventh on Sunday. That could make a difference, but he has fallen back from his grid position in three of the previous four times.
May 27 - 10:02 AM

Kurt Busch has the ninth-best three year average at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a 13.33 in his last six races.

As noted in this week’s Statistically Speaking column, he will move up the grid if he finishes anywhere near the top 10 this week because he has a five-race, top-10 streak going. He is likely to finish in the top 15 and that makes him a provisionally good value.
May 27 - 12:23 AM

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is on the verge of finishing in the top 10 on a similarly-configured, 1.5-mile track. Four of his last five races on this track type ended in results of 16th or better.

Stenhouse came close last week in Kansas Speedway with an 11th-place result. That snapped a three-race streak of finishing in the top 10 this season, so he has two reasons to want to get back to the front.
May 27 - 12:11 AM

Danica Patrick has failed to finish two of her last three races on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks with an engine failure at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and a crash at Kansas Speedway.

Patrick has been getting increasingly frustrated with her results and that makes her a poor value for fantasy players.
