Erik Jones leads the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice session at Eldora Speedway.

He ran a quick lap of 90.749 mph in the No. 51 Toyota Tundra. No. 35 Mason Mingus, No. 88 Matt Crafton, No. 19 Tyler Reddick and No. 32 Kyle Larson rounded out the top five of the 32 trucks practicing for the 1-800 Car Cash Mudsummer Classic. Jennifer Jo Cobb, in the No. 10 truck, was the slowest. Jones also had the fastest 10-lap average speed (77.068 mph) among the 25 trucks that ran 10 consecutive laps on the track for this session.

Seth Barbour, crew chief for the No. 6 XFINITY team of Darrell Wallace Jr., was fined $5,000 on Wednesday for lug nuts not properly installed following Saturday's Service King 300 at Auto Club Speedway.

Wallace Jr. finished sixth in the Southern California race, his fourth consecutive sixth-place finish in the XFINITY Series this season.-NASCAR.com

Advance Auto Parts will serve as primary sponsor for the No. 7 Chevrolet for three NASCAR Xfinity Series races in 2017 as part of a continued partnership between Valvoline and JRM.

The automotive parts provider will be on Justin Allgaier’s Camaro next week at Texas Motor Speedway (April 8), as well as at Darlington Raceway (Sept. 2) and Charlotte Motor Speedway (Oct. 6).

Joe Gibbs Racing announced late Wednesday that crew chief Dave Rogers will step aside from his duties as crew chief leading rookie Daniel Suarez's No. 19 Toyota team in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, effective immediately.

The team issued a very brief statement -- only two paragraphs long -- saying that Scott Graves will assume the role of crew chief on Suarez's team while Rogers will be gone for "an indefinite period of time." A new crew chief will be named at a later date for the No. 18 XFINITY Series team, where Graves had been. Graves served as Suarez's crew chief last year, and the duo won the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship.-NASCAR.com

The Alpha Energy Solutions 250 will be Chase Briscoe's first start at Martinsville Speedway and his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) short track race.

The No. 29 Ford F-150 driver participated in a test session March 14-15 at the 0.526-mile speedway. Currently ranks eighth in the NCWTS points and second in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings. Best finish in two NCWTS starts this season is third place at Daytona.-Brad Keselowski Racing

Austin Cindric (No. 19 LTi Printing Ford F-150) will be making his ninth-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start and second at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

He made his Truck Series debut at Martinsville in October 2015, scoring a lead-lap finish. Claimed his best series start on an oval (third) on March 4 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. His career-best qualifying effort is second place (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in 2016). Best NCWTS finish came at Phoenix in 2015 (14th).-Brad Keselowski Racing

Stewart Friesen will be making his first start at the famous .526 mile "paperclip" and 9th overall NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start in the No. 52 Halmar International Chevrolet Silverado.

A rookie test session two weeks ago has the excitement high as Halmar Friesen Racing heads to the track. "Although this is our first trip to Martinsville Speedway, we were able to get a test session in a few weeks ago so hopefully the things we learned will help us get up to speed quickly in practice on Friday and get our truck race ready for Saturday," said Friesen.-140 BUZZ

Jeb Burton will pilot the JGL Racing No. 24 Estes Express Lines Toyota for the first of his scheduled NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) events on April 8th at the Texas Motor Speedway.

As previously announced, Burton will pilot the No. 24 Toyota for multiple races during the 2017 season. The 24-year old racer will be making his 17th career start in the NXS. He will also pilot the No. 24 at Bristol (4/22), Daytona (6/30), Kentucky Speedway (7/7), Indianapolis Motor Speedway (7/22) and Bristol.-Integrity Sports Marketing
