After finishing 22nd this past weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Mike Bliss is looking forward to returning to Iowa Speedway this weekend.

In his nine previous starts at the speedway, Bliss has one top-10 finish and has an average starting position of 19.4 and an average finishing position of 17.9. Earlier this season when the Nationwide Series visited the .875-mile track, Bliss was unable to finish the race due to front-end damage after making contact with the wall.-TriStar Motorsports NC

Rubén Rovelo collected his second straight NASCAR Mexico Series win in the RedCo 240 at Súper Óvalo Chiapas.

It marked Rovelo's third win in the last five series races dating back to the visit to Tuxtla last October. Rovelo used lapped traffic on the .75-mile tri-oval to maneuver his No. 28 G3C Racing Team/GESTI Dodge past race leader Felipe Luis Montaño and take the win. It was Rovelo's 10th career win and the first time he's won back-to-back races. Montaño settled for second and Irwin Vences was third. Martin Truex Jr. is back on track with another top-10 at Richmond International Raceway in the Toyota Owners 400. He ran in the top five for much of the day, slipped outside that mark, and then hovered around 10th. He edged Newman at the end of the race to earn his eighth top-10 in nine races of 2015.

It is notable that all three drivers who had perfect top-10 records end at Bristol Motor Speedway each bounced back at Richmond. At the very front of the field, this has been a fairly predictable season.

Clint Bowyer earned a top-10 in the first race of the season at Daytona International Speedway. It took nine weeks, but he finally scored a second with a ninth in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway

That comes just before Bowyer and the field heads to Talladega SuperSpeedway, which is a track where he has excelled in the past. He would be a favorite there without the added momentum, but this certainly helps make him a popular pick for Sunday.

Jeff Gordon was one of the few drivers last week at Bristol Motor Speedway who entered the weekend with a top-10 streak and did not see it come to an end on the high-banked bullring. He finished third in the Food City 500 and backed that up with an eighth in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Gordon’s priorities to this point have been to climb into Chase consideration after suffering three accidents in the first three weeks of the season. Now that he is 11th in the points’ standings, look for that focus to shift to winning his first Cup race of 2015.
Apr 26 - 8:38 PM

Matt Kenseth finished sixth in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway to keep his short track streak alive. He finished fourth at Martinsville Speedway and won Bristol Motor Speedway from the pole.

Joe Gibbs Racing has been solid on this track type all year, but Kenseth had to carry the banner for the organization at Richmond. With last week’s win, he has become their top driver and that will positively impact his fantasy handicap moving forward.
Apr 26 - 8:33 PM

Woody Pitkat, the 35-year-old Stafford, Connecticut, driver powered to the victory in the NAPA Spring Sizzler 200, the traditional season-opening event for Stafford Motor Speedway.

In the process, the driver of the No. 88 Buzz Chew Chevrolet/Elbow East Chevrolet became the first hometown driver to win the prestigious NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event. It was Pitkat's third career tour win. He scored his first career win last year in the August event at Stafford before following it up with a win a month later at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Sunday, Pitkat led the last 40 laps after muscling his way past Todd Szegedy through the bottom of Turn 3. It was the last of 11 lead changes.
Apr 26 - 7:10 PM

A missed setup dropped Kahne well down the order to start the Toyota Owners 400. He qualified 40th at Richmond and in the history of this 0.750-mile track, only four drivers—or one percent of the starters—earned a top-10 after rolling off the grid that deep in the pack.

Kahne worked his way into the top 10 relatively quickly and once there, he managed to overcome minor setup adjustments to stay with the leaders. As much as any other performance, this will go a long way to establishing him as a front running fantasy value.
Apr 26 - 6:45 PM

Joey Logano led the first 94 laps of the Toyota Owners 400 and then fell back outside the top five for a long time during the middle of the race. He rebounded in the final sequence and narrowly edged Kasey Kahne for fifth on the three-quarter-mile Richmond International Raceway.

This is a pattern that has been repeating itself with regularity this season. Since Logano has been able to overcome these problems and finish in the top 10 nearly every week, he remains one of the best fantasy options. This was his fifth top-five and eighth top-10 in the first nine races of 2015.
Apr 26 - 4:56 PM

Jamie McMurray had the fastest car on long green flag runs, but the end of the race developed yellow fever. McMurray’s fourth-place finish in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway was his second top-five of the year.

This top-five was important because it did not come as the result of a strategy call like the one at Phoenix International Raceway. McMurray is cementing his position in the top 16 in points and making the No. 1 increasingly fantasy relevant.

Ken Schrader (No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet) broke his own record as the oldest winner in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards history, winning the Federated Auto Parts 200 at Salem (IN) Speedway.

Schrader, who turns 60 next month, held several challengers over the last 50 laps to win for the first time at Salem since 1999. Kyle Weatherman finished second, Dominic Ursetta third and J.J. Haley fourth in front of a big crowd under sunny skies at Salem Speedway. It was the 97th ARCA race at the high-banked, half-mile.-ARCA Racing Series

Jimmie Johnson struggled badly in practice and rolled off the grid 36th Sunday afternoon. He carved his way to the front easily and scored his fourth top-five of the year.

Equally important three of these top-fives came after he qualified outside the top 25 (Atlanta Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway). In addition to race points, Johnson earned major place differential points, which has made him one of the top values in those events.
