After departing from Roush-Fenway Racing, Ragan suffered through three Pocono races without a lead lap finish. His two most recent efforts have not been stellar, but at least he finished on the lead lap last August and this June.

Ragan came close to cracking the top 15 in the Pocono 400 with an 18th. If he backs that up on Sunday he could be an acceptable value, but his average finish on this track with Front Row Motorsports is a modest 26.2.

Bubba Wallace will make his fifth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Dover International Speedway on Saturday afternoon.

In four previous starts at the one-mile oval, he has earned two pole positions and a best finish of second coming in the Spring 2016 event. In two starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Dover, Wallace has one pole and earned a best finish of 10th in May 2013. Recapping Kentucky: Wallace led 10 laps and ran up front for much of the evening before recording an eighth-place finish in the opening race of the NASCAR XFINITY Series chase for the championship at Kentucky Speedway.-Roush Fenway Racing

Tyler Reddick (No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford F-150) grabbed a fourth-place finish one week ago at New Hampshire and is riding that momentum into the DC Solar 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Reddick is just six points behind ninth place in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship standings entering Saturday evening's race. His best finish in two previous races is seventh place (2015).-Brad Keselowski Racing

Daniel Hemric (No. 19 Blue Gate Bank Ford F-150) has one previous start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway - started 12th and finished sixth in 2015

His 28th-place finish at New Hampshire was just his second DNF in 43 NCWTS starts and his worst finish since making his Truck Series debut at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway in the fall of 2013. Tied for most top 10 finishes (13) in 2016. Eighth in the NCWTS championship standings, 21 points behind the cutoff to advance to the Round of 6.-Brad Keselowski Racing

This Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) race at Dover International Speedway marks a milestone for Roush Fenway Racing’s Ryan Reed.

Reed (No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang) will make his 100th start in the NXS. On the cusp of his 100th NXS start, Reed also approaches another milestone – his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start. Announced earlier this week, Reed will attempt to qualify for the NSCS event at Talladega Superspeedway later this season. Reed will pilot the No. 99 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford. To date this NXS season, Reed has one top-five and five top-10 finishes and has led a total of eight laps.-Roush Fenway Racing

Greg Biffle has a three-year average finish of 21.2 at Dover International Speedway, but that is only half the story. His last three spring races have been marred by crash damage.

If one looks only at his last three fall races, his average improves to 14.3 with one top-10 and another top-15. This pattern suggests he should be watched closely in practice for signs of becoming a solid dark horse in the Citizen Soldier 400.

Tony Stewart has finished worse than his previous start in six consecutive races at Dover International Speedway.

He got off to a great start in June 2013 by winning the FedEx 400. He missed that fall’s race, and still no one knew what was coming when he finished seventh the following spring. Since then, his results have been 14th, 16th, 26th, and finally 34th this spring. He still has some room to fall, but without a substantial improvement he will not be a good value even if he beats this spring’s result.

In his last two races on this track, Josh Wise finished 36th at Dover International Speedway. As it turned out, he was followed across the finish line both times by Michael Annett, who has back-to-back 37ths.

Annett has been the worse option not only for that one lost position, but also because he has failed to score more than one positive place-differential point in these two combined starts. In fall 2014 and spring 2015, he lost positions from his qualification effort and fantasy owners will want to look elsewhere for a dark horse.

Chris Buescher needs to finish 16th or better to avoid having the lowest average finish among Chasers since NASCAR implemented a playoff-style package. He was 18th in this spring’s Dover International Speedway AAA 400.

Buescher needs to pick up only two positions to have an average finish better than 25th, but that will not be an easy task. This spring’s race was marked by an 18-car pileup on a restart that skewed the finishing order and his 18th-place finish came with a lot of help.
Sep 29 - 6:57 PM

Josh Wise finished 36th in back-to-back races at Dover International Speedway. He started 41st last fall and 40th this spring.

Essentially, he has moved up via attrition, but could earn a few roster slots in games where he is bargain-basement priced. If a "Big One" occurs, he is likely to be out of harm’s way.
Sep 29 - 6:56 PM

Denny Hamlin finished 15th in the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire, which was the first time in nine races that he failed to crack the top 10.

Hamlin now has a current 12-race streak of top-15s and a 19-point advantage over the bubble. This was actually a good time for him to break the streak because it gives him ample time to recover and keep advancing through the Chase.
Sep 29 - 5:44 PM

Chase Elliott was overhauled during the final restarts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and forfeited a top-10 finish for a result of 13th.

Elliott told reporters after the race that he was forced to play defense. He did the right thing because he left New Hampshire with a 16-point advantage over 13th in the standings instead of a wrinkled car. Maturity is what will advance Elliott to the next round of the Chase and it makes him a solid value.
