Martin Truex Jr. finished fifth in the ISM Connect 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway on the heels of his Chicagoland Speedway win.

That comes on the heels of a third-place finish this summer at New Hampshire. This has not been a very good track for Truex, but he is rapidly improving on every course type.

Matt Kenseth scored his fifth straight top five at New Hampshire with a third-place finish in the ISM 300.

Kenseth was this week’s anchor on our Daily Fantasy article and he rewarded us with a great finish. Since Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch led the most laps, however, he did not get a chance to post enough laps led to be at the every top.

Kyle Larson finished second in the ISM Connect 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway. He added another point to his fantasy total for leading one lap.

Larson entered the race second in the standings on the strength of a good run at Chicagoland and 33 bonus points from the regular season. He is becoming a weekly threat on every track type. New Hampshire was statistically a good track for him and that made him a predictable value. In the post-race interview, he pointed out that top-fives will get him to Homestead-Miami Speedway with a shot at the championship.

Kyle Busch won the ISM Connect 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway one week after getting penalized at Chicagoland Speedway for a pit road infraction.

Busch gets an automatic advance to the second round of the playoffs. The restores this momentum and makes him a great value next week at Dover International Speedway.

Kasey Kahne broke a track bar about 40 laps from the end of the ISM Connect 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway. He finished 35th.

That made him the third-worst playoff contending driver. Coupled with a position entering the race 15th in the standings, this virtually puts him in a position where he will need to win Dover International Speedway in order to advance to round two.

Noel Dowler (No. 5 EMCO/MFP/Empire Mechanical Dodge) finished ninth in Saturday night's NASCAR Pinty's Series season-ending Pinty's Fall Brawl 200 at Jukasa Motor Speedway in Hagersville, Ontario.

He started 12th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 200-lap race. Dowler competed in six of the 13 Pinty's races this year and closed out the season 15th in the 2017 driver championship standings.

Kyle Benjamin (No. 18 Hurricane Relief Toyota) finished 12th in Saturday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY.

He started on the pole, led 52 laps and completed 199 of the 200 laps run. Benjamin entered only five of the 27 NXS races so far this season and is 31st in the 2017 driver point standings after this event.

NASCAR K&N Pro Series regular Todd Gilliland, driving the (No. 51 Pedigree Toyota Tundra, finished third in Saturday's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) UNOH 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.

He started fifth in the lineup and completed all laps of the 175-lap race. Gilliland competed in four of the 17 truck races so far this season and is 29th in the 2017 NCWTS point standings after this event. Gilliland is also the current points leader in both the East and West divisions of NASCAR's K&N Pro Series.

Brian Scott (No. 3 Daniel Defense Chevrolet Camaro) finished eighth in Saturday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY.

He started 10th in the lineup and completed all of the 200 laps run. Scott entered only two of the 27 NXS races so far this season. Both starts resulted in top-10 finishes; the other was a third-place in the Iowa Speedway race in July.

Donald Chisholm (No. 89 Keltic Ford/Nova Construction Ford) finished eighth in Saturday night's NASCAR Pinty's Series season-ending Pinty's Fall Brawl 200 at Jukasa Motor Speedway in Hagersville, Ontario.

He started sixth in the lineup, led 11 laps and completed all laps of the 200-lap race. Chisholm competed in two of the 13 Pinty's races this year and closed out the season 31st in the 2017 driver championship standings after this event.

After 13 races that took the series to five different provinces, it was only fitting a champion was crowned at the birthplace of NASCAR in Canada. Following the Pinty's Fall Brawl at Jukasa Motor Speedway, Alex Labbe claimed his first NASCAR Pinty's Series championship by 16 points over rival Kevin Lacroix.

The 24-year-old from Victoriaville, Quebec, finished the year with an impressive five wins, 11 top fives and 12 top 10s. Tallying up 542 points, Labbe claims the highest honor in Canadian stock car racing, the 2017 NASCAR Pinty's Series championship. Following his championship season, Labbe announced his intentions to run full time in NASCAR's Xfinity Series in 2018.
