Tony Stewart will race chassis No. 14-874 in the Cheez-it 355k at the Glen. It has been raced once previously in this June’s Toyota / Save Mart 350k at Sonoma.

Stewart could manage to finish only 19th on the California road course, but he was hit with a speeding penalty during the afternoon and that contributed to his disappointing run.

When it comes to Bobby Santos III and the NAPA Spring Sizzler® at Stafford Motor Speedway, not many drivers can claim a better record.

In only 8 career starts in "The Greatest Race in the History of Spring," Santos has recorded 3 wins, 4 top-5, and 5 top-10 finishes for an average finish of 10.9. Santos has also led in four of his eight career Sizzler starts with a total of 488 laps led in those 4 races. With the NAPA Spring Sizzler® taking the green flag this weekend, Santos is ready to try to add a fourth Sizzler win to his racing resume and tie Mike Stefanik for 2nd place on the All-Time Sizzler Winners List.

Thomas "Moose" Praytor and his Mobile, Alabama crew are continuing their long standing relationship with the Alabama Institute of Deaf and Blind (AIDB) this weekend during the running of the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Jeffrey Oliver, a student at AIDB, will become a pit crew member this weekend with Praytor's Max Force Racing team. "We always enjoy having students come over from AIDB and having Jeffrey come back to help us out is really cool," said Praytor. And, fresh off a gold medal performance at the Special Olympics, Reese McGagahin, the Moose’s ride-along buddy from Mobile International Speedway a few weeks ago, will be with the team this weekend at Talladega. "Talladega is so much fun for us…so many people hanging out," Praytor said. "I wish we had two Talladegas, one without the race where we can just have fun with everyone that supports us and one where we race."

On the heels of a top-10 finish in his ARCA Racing Series debut at Daytona in February, rookie Max Tullman hopes to duplicate his performance in Friday afternoon’s General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway.

"I’m very thankful and excited to get back behind the wheel of a Mason Mitchell Motorsports car this weekend at Talladega," said Tullman. "It seems forever since I’ve raced at Daytona and I’ve been able to keep myself busy; but I’m eager to get back on the track and continue to build my resume surrounded by great people." Rewinding back to the comedy smash "Talladega Nights", Tullman’s (No. 78 Yurpal.com Chevrolet) will simulate a replica paint scheme of Ricky Bobby’s car played by actor Will Ferrell in the 2006 blockbuster film. Veteran Motorsports crew chief Doug Richert, who led Dale Earnhardt Sr. to his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) championship in 1980, will continue to call the shots for Tullman in the 200-mile race.

Martin Truex Jr. has not earned a restrictor-plate, superspeedway top-10 since the 2016 Daytona 500 when he finished second.

Truex has only two top-15s in the last eight restrictor-plate, superspeedway races and an average finish of 25.6. He is certainly capable of beating that average, but in both allocation management and salary cap games there are going to be much better choices.

Trevor Bayne has scored two top-10 finishes in his last four attempts at Talladega SuperSpeedway.

Matt Kenseth is scheduled to take over the No. 6 in select events this year – and depending on how that goes, Bayne could get limited seat time or none at all for the remainder of the year. It is imperative that he have a good run, and Talladega is not kind to drivers with something to prove.

Harrison Burton completed a test at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in preparation for his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race there later this year.

While the NASCAR Pinty’s Series is still one month away from holding its annual season opener during Victoria Day weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Harrison Burton brought his Kyle Busch Motorsports truck up to turn some laps for the first time. The second generation driver will compete in the Truck Series event Aug. 26, his first on a road course in the series.

David Ragan finished 10th in both Talladega SuperSpeedway races last year.

Ragan also had a sixth-place finish in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway, which means that he is more than capable of staying out of trouble on the restrictor-plate, superspeedways. He has experienced trouble in the last two Daytona 500s, however, so he is far from guaranteed.

Timothy Peters will make his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut this week in the Geico 500 at Talladega SuperSpeedway.

Peters has never driven on the restrictor-plate, superspeedways in any anything except the Camping World Truck Series, so this is going to be a rude awakening. He’s competing for a new team and is likely to struggle to stay on the lead lap without frequent cautions.

Returning to the site of his career-best finish in NASCAR, veteran Timmy Hill has been tapped to drive the No. 51 Keen's Building Chevrolet in Sunday's Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway for Rick Ware Racing (RWR).

Hill, the 2011 NASCAR Xfinity Series Rookie of the Year will make his third Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start of the season and third at the 2.66-mile superspeedway. "I can't wait to get to Talladega this weekend," said Hill who posted a sixth-place run at Talladega driving for Rick Ware Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2013.-RWR

Fresh off a top-10 finish in last Sunday’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race at Salem Speedway, Bluffton, SC's Gus Dean and his Win-Tron Racing team trek to Talladega Superspeedway eyeing a win in Friday afternoon’s General Tire 200.

A victory would certainly not be a stretch considering Dean won at Talladega in his second career ARCA start in 2016. At Daytona in February, he contended for a top-five finish before getting caught up in two incidents, including one on the last lap. Dean’s superspeedway car was heavily damaged in the season-opening race, but diligent work by Win-Tron and Performance Vehicle Works have repaired the car to bring him an equal or better car to Talladega.

Sheldon Creed (No. 28 United Rentals Toyota) finished third in Sunday's ARCA Racing Series Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway in Indiana.

He started seventh in the lineup and completed all laps of the 200-lap race. Creed took over the lead in the 2018 ARCA championship standings after this race. He leads Zane Smith (finished second in the race) by 90 points.
