For the first time in his last five attempts, Timmy Hill was running at the end of a race on one of NASCAR similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks at the end of the GoBowling.com 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Hill finished eight laps off the pace, but with attrition that gave him a 28th-place result. He has made two prior starts on this track type this season with a broken suspension at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and blown engine at Texas Motor Speedway. In 2015, he failed to qualify in his last two attempts.

In 10 NASCAR XFINITY Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Brendan Gaughan (No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet) has completed 1,943 of 1,979 (98.2 percent) laps that he has competed.

He has led seven laps, accumulated one top-five and two top-10 finishes, and averages a starting position of 20.1 and a finishing position of 14.9. Gaughan also has eight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at the 1.5-mile speedway. Brandon Jones (No. 33 Wood Ducks Baseball Chevrolet Camaro) has two previous NASCAR XFINITY Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which has resulted in one top-10 finish.

The 20-year-old competitor also has three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts under his belt at the 1.5-mile track. Across the two series, Jones has completed 739 of the 813 laps (90.9 percent) he has competed in at CMS.-Richard Childress Racing

Daniel Hemric (No. 21 Blue Gate Bank Chevrolet Camaro) will be making his first NASCAR XFINITY Series start at the 1.5-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway during this weekend's Hisense 4k TV 300.

He has two previous NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at CMS, recording an average start of 6.5 and an average finish of 13.0. Hemric also made a name for himself at CMS by winning more than 25 Legends Car races, including the inaugural Legends Car Million in 2010.-Richard Childress Racing

In addition to driving his regular No. 33 GEICO Chevrolet SS in Sunday's Cup Series Coca-Cola 600, Ty Dillon will pilot the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday.

In his six previous NXS starts at Charlotte, Dillon has scored four top-10 finishes. His highest finish of sixth place came in the fall of 2015. He has two starts at the intermediate track in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, starting from the pole in 2012 and in the second position in 2013. He earned top-10 finishes in each start. Dillon will make his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start at the track this weekend.-Richard Childress Racing

In addition to driving his regular No. 3 Chevrolet SS in Sunday's Cup Series Coca-Cola 600, Austin Dillon will pilot the No. 2 Rheem Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Hisense 4k TV 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) on Saturday.

In eight NXS starts at CMS, the Welcome, NC native has acquired an average starting position of 3.1 and an average finish position of 6.4, leading 228 laps. Randall Burnett, who previously served as a crew chief for RCR's technical partner JTG Daugherty Racing, will assume a new role as crew chief of the No. 2 Chevrolet in the NXS beginning this weekend.-Richard Childress Racing

Bubba Wallace (No. 6 Globe Life Ford Mustang) will make his fifth career NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday.

In four previous starts at the 1.5-mile oval, Wallace has two top-10s with a best finish of fifth in May 2015. Wallace also previously made two starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Charlotte. Recapping Talladega: Wallace, who had overcome damage sustained in a multi-car incident on Lap 20, was running inside the top 10 before contact on the final lap sent him into the inside wall, ultimately, scoring him with a 13th-place finish.-Roush Fenway Racing

After 13 seasons in the Camping World Truck Series, Red Horse Racing is shutting down effective immediately, due to lack of funding.

Veteran Timothy Peters finished a career-high second for the team in 2012 and scored his 10 career victories all under the Red Horse banner. Team owner Tom DeLoach said he’s still looking for potential partners/funding to keep the operation afloat. The team currently sits sixth and tenth in the driver's standings with Peters and Brett Moffitt, respectively.

Austin Theriault (No. 52 Midwest Logistic Systems/K&L Ready Mix Ford) finished sixth in Sunday's ARCA Racing Series Menards 200 at Toledo (OH) Speedway.

He started ninth in the lineup and completed all laps of the 200-lap race. Theriault continues as the points leader in the 2017 ARCA championship standings. He leads Dalton Sargeant (finished second in the race) by 110 points.

Dalton Sargeant (No. 77 Big Tine Ford) finished second in Sunday's ARCA Racing Series Menards 200 at Toledo (OH) Speedway.

He started on the pole, led a race-high 161 laps and completed all laps of the 200-lap race. Sargeant is currently second in the 2017 championship standings after this event, 110 points behind leader Austin Theriault (finished sixth in the race).
