His top speed is thousandths of a second off the track record and there is a strong likelihood that speeds will pick up before the evening qualification session. Logano should be considered a favorite to win the pole for the Pure Michigan 400. Logano is the defending winner and pole sitter for this race.

In 10 NASCAR XFINITY Series starts at Iowa Speedway, Brendan Gaughan (No. 62 Kum & Go Chevrolet Camaro) has earned one top-5 and three top-10 finishes.

Last Time at Iowa ... The No. 62 Richard Childress Racing (RCR) team started from the eighth position last July at Iowa Speedway. The U.S. Cellular team battled in the top 15 for a majority of the 250-lap event. Gaughan recovered from an early race incident and climbed back to an 11th-place finish.-RCR

Daniel Hemric (No. 21 Blue Gate Chevrolet Camaro) will be making his first NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Iowa Speedway during this weekend's American Ethanol E15 250 Presented by Enogen.

He has two previous NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Iowa Speedway, earning an average finish of 11.5. Rearview Mirror: Michigan ... Hemric earned his 10th top-15 finish of the season Saturday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway. Scott Lagasse Jr. has been tapped to drive the No. 02 Young's Building Systems/Randco Chevrolet Silverado in Friday night's M&M's 200 at Iowa Speedway.

Lagasse will make his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start of the season and the first since Daytona where he finished in seventh-place. His only other visit to Iowa was in 2009 in the XFINITY Series where he finished ninth. Like Daytona, Lagasse will pull double-duty this weekend. On Saturday, he'll pilot the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro and compete in the American Ethanol E15 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race, his third start of the year. This weekend at Iowa Speedway located in Newton, Iowa, Brandon Jones will return to the seat of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) No. 99 Soleus Air Chevrolet Silverado for MDM Motorsports.

Saturday's M&M's 200 will be Jones' third NCWTS start of the season. He scored a sixth-place finish in the Bar Harbor 200 at Dover on June 2. This weekend, Ben Kennedy returns to the track that he made his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut at last year.

The Florida native heads to Iowa Speedway in the No. 2 Rheem Chevrolet Camaro for his second start with Richard Childress Racing this season. In his single NXS race at the short track last year, Kennedy finished on the lead lap in 10th place. 22 Racing welcomes veteran racer Marc-Antoine Camirand to their stable of drivers for 2017 in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series (NPS) in the No. 22 Chevrolet Impala.

He will take part in the four remaining road course events in 2017 at Circuit ICAR, Pinty’s Grand Prix at Toronto Honda Indy, the Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Camping World Truck Series weekend. In 19 NPS starts Camirand has 6 top fives, 10 top 10s and one pole at the Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres in 2014. In his only full-time season in the series in 2015, he finished in seventh in the Championship standings.

Dylan Lupton (No. 24 Nut Up Toyota) will be making his second career XFINITY Series start at Iowa Speedway to go along with four prior starts in the K&N Series at the Newton, Iowa track.
