Jimmie Johnson finished 10th in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and was pleased with the progress of the team.

"I think top 10 is where we need to be. Top five right now on sheer speed is something we are achieving and trying to get to," Johnson said after the race. "We scored some great points in the stages. … All-in-all we had a good day, always could be better, but a nice solid step forward." It will take a while before players know if they can trust his results going forward.

Joey Logano finished ninth in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after starting the day in the middle of the pack in 19th.

Logano hovered around the top 10 most of the day. His finish was not enough to make him one of the better overall values, but it was his fifth top-10 in the last seven races. None of these have been top-fives.
Jul 22 - 9:13 PM

Kurt Busch led 37 laps at the beginning of the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and paced the field later for a total of 92 - but he faded at the end of the race to finish eighth.

Busch's laps led offset the minimal place differential loss. He is not setting the series on fire, but he has been one of the most consistent drivers in the field and deserves to be considered when he fits the appropriate niche on one's roster.
Jul 22 - 9:10 PM

Ryan Blaney finished seventh in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, which was his second consecutive top-10 after finishing second at Kentucky Speedway.

Blaney was fairly dominant in the early stages of the race, but he lost track position in the middle of the event. He should be able to rebound at Pocono Raceway next week and challenge for another top-five.
Jul 22 - 9:06 PM

Ryan Newman finished sixth in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after starting 18th.

This was Newman's first top 10 on an unrestricted track since he was 10th at Bristol in April. He has a pair of top-10s on plate tracks since then, but those are of limited use because of the difficulty in handicapping them. Watch him closely next week at Pocono Raceway since it is another flat track.
Jul 22 - 9:03 PM

Chase Elliott finished fifth in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after finishing second in Stage 1 and winning Stage 2.

This was Elliott's first stage win of the season and the 19 stage points he scored helped him pass Erik Jones in the points standings. He hopes this is a step in the right direction - and it is a signal that he should be on fantasy onwers' radar screens.
Jul 22 - 8:58 PM

Martin Treux Jr. dominated the first stage of the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and finished third in Stage 2, but he slipped to fourth in the final run to the checkers.

It is a testament to how strong this team is that a fourth-place finish is considered a slip, but with Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch finishing ahead of him, this means that he lost ground in the playoff chase. Still, the Big 3 remain must haves in games with unlimited allocations.
