After a successful first season with Kyle Larson and the No. 42 team, Credit One Bank, the Official Credit Card of NASCAR, will expand the relationship with Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) by becoming the largest sponsor of the No. 42 for the 2018 season.

Credit One Bank’s multi-year deal will kick off with the 2018 season-opening Daytona 500, which will be the 60th running of the Great American Race. In addition to the Daytona 500, Credit One Bank will serve as the primary sponsor for Larson, who will be in his fifth full-time season in NASCAR’s premier series, and the No. 42 team throughout the 2018 season. Credit One Bank, who first partnered with CGR in 2016 for several races with the No. 1 team, will also continue as an associate sponsor with Jamie McMurray and the No. 1 team in 2018.-CGR

Codie Rohrbaugh (No. 7 Chevrolet) finished 12th in Friday night's ARCA Racing Series season-ending Kansas ARCA 150 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City.

He started fourth in the lineup, led five laps and completed 99 laps of the 100-lap race. Rohrbaugh competed in eight of the 20 ARCA races this year and closed out the season 20th in the 2018 driver championship standings after this event.

Aric Almirola finished 10th in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway for his third consecutive top-10 on this track.

The most notable thing about this statistic is that it comes on the heels of an accident last spring that threatened to end his career. Almirola advanced to the Round of 8 and will continue to challenge for top-10s.

Alex Bowman finished ninth in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway - recording his best result of Round 2.

Bowman had a fourth-place finish on the Charlotte Roval for his best result of that round. A sense of urgency seems to reward this team. Unfortunately, that is gone now that he has been eliminated from the playoffs.

Joey Logano had the most dominant car in the first stage of the Hollywood Casino 400. He was incredibly strong in Stage 2, but he faded at the end to finish eighth.

Logano earned one bonus point for his stage win, but overall his result was disappointing. He realizes that he needs to win in order to advance out of Round 3 and that seems unlikely with Team Penske's current performance.
Oct 21 - 8:04 PM

Ryan Blaney finished seventh in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway and will not advance to Round 3 of the playoffs.

Blaney started out strong. He finished second in Stage 1 and third in Stage 2, but he lost ground in the final stage. The same thing happened to his teammate Joey Logano, suggesting their cars were set up for shorter runs.
Oct 21 - 8:00 PM

Brad Keselowski finished sixth in the Hollywood Casino 400 after starting the race fifth.

Keselowski lost his momentum following a three-race streak of wins that culminated with a victory in Las Vegas. This is only his second top-10 since then and his best finish. Even so, Keselowski did not spend much time challenging for the win and he finished outside the top 10 in both early stages of the race.
Oct 21 - 7:53 PM

Martin Truex Jr. spent much of the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway outside of the cutoff line to make Round 3 of the playoffs. He surged at the end of the race and finished fifth.

That has been a hallmark of this team and it is earning fantasy players a lot of points. Truex has not shown very much dominance in recent races, however, and that is eroding his confidence and that of the team. He is not a place and hold driver at the moment and should be evaluated each week.
Oct 21 - 7:49 PM

Erik Jones finished fourth in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, which makes him the highest finishing non-playoff driver.

We predicted Jones would be one of the top two non-playoff drivers at Kansas throughout the pre-race coverage. Jones now has three consecutive top-10s, which makes him one of the top contenders entering next week despite the fact that there are now four additional non-playoff drivers to consider at Martinsville.
Oct 21 - 7:45 PM

A third-place finish in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway earned a lot of fantasy points for Kyle Larson, but it was not enough to overcome a 36-point deficit that began the day.

Larson actually sounded slightly relieved to have run well even if he was no longer part of the playoffs. In his last nine races, he has earned four top-fives, but he has also finished outside the top 10 on four occasions.
Oct 21 - 7:40 PM

Kyle Busch was able to close the distance on Chase Elliott in the closing laps of the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway and finished second by less than a second.

This is only Busch's second top-five during the playoffs. There are two 1.5-mile tracks remaining on the schedule and this could be the turn around that he needs in order to carry confidence along with him to Homestead.
Oct 21 - 7:35 PM

Chase Elliott inherited the lead from Kevin Harvick midway toward the end of Stage 3. He held off a determined Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson to score his third career win and his second during Stage 2.

Elliott adds five bonus points to his total and he is going to need that to get out of Round 3 of the playoffs and to Homestead with a shot at the championship. Elliott will now have the fourth-most bonus points among the Top 8.
