Before Fantasy NASCAR owners get overly excited about Martin Truex Jr.’s third-place finish in last fall’s Can Am 500k, they should be aware it was his first top-five on this track in eight years.

His most recent top-five before that came in fall 2009 and he has accumulated an average finish of 17.7 in the intervening races. Truex will probably manage to score a top-10 this week, but there are much better venues for him.

Kerry Micks (No. 02 Ford) finished 13th in Saturday's NASCAR Pinty's Series Visit New Hampshire 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.

He started 14th in the lineup and completed 98 laps of the 100-lap race. Micks is currently 13th in the 2018 Pinty's Series driver championship standings, 245 behind leader L.P. Dumoulin after this event.

Bobby Santos (No. 44 Chevrolet) was credited with a 22nd place DNF in Saturday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) Musket 250 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.

He started 11th on the grid, led 13 laps and completed 216 laps of the 250-lap race before exiting the event (Rear end). Santos, who competed in six of the 14 NWMT races run so far this year, is currently 28th in the 2018 championship standings, 416 points behind leader Justin Bonsignore after this event.
Sep 23 - 11:41 AM

Andy Seuss (No. 57 Chevrolet) finished fourth in Saturday's NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) Musket 250 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.

He started sixth in the lineup and completed all laps in the 250-lap race. Seuss, who entered five of the 14 NWMT races so far this season, is currently 33rd in the 2018 championship standings after this event.
Sep 23 - 11:36 AM

Derek Kraus (No. 1 Toyota) finished second in Saturday's NASCAR K&N Pro Series-East (KNPSE) Apple Barrel 125 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.

He started on the pole, led 49 laps and completed all laps of the 129-lap event. Kraus, who competed in seven of the 12 KNPSE races so far this year, is currently 13th in the 2018 point standings, three points behind 12th-placed Juan Manuel Gonzalez and 295 behind leader Tyler Ankrum after this event.
Sep 23 - 11:32 AM

Ryan Sieg (No. 39 Chevrolet) finished 17th in Friday night's NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) Go Bowling 250 at Richmond (VA) Raceway.

He started 18th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 250 laps run. Sieg, who entered all 27 NXS races so far this season, is 15th in the 2018 NXS driver point standings, 12 points behind 14th-placed Jeremy Clements after this event.
Sep 23 - 11:19 AM

Joey McColm (No. 46 Dodge) finished 14th in Saturday's NASCAR Pinty's Series Visit New Hampshire 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH.

He started 16th in the lineup and completed 95 laps of the 100-lap race. McColm is currently 14th in the 2018 Pinty's Series driver championship standings, 33 points behind 13th-placed Kerry Micks and 278 behind leader L.P. Dumoulin after this event.
Sep 23 - 11:07 AM

Brad Keselowski winning streak is over but the Penske driver was still able to hold on to a top-10 finish at Richmond Raceway. Keselowski led the 3rd most laps of the race but not when it counted at the end of a stage or under the checkered flag.

Keselowski lost the points lead this week to the race winner Kyle Busch but he heads into Roval week with one thing the majority of the drivers don't have, their ticket punched to the Round of 12. Keselowski will be under less pressure and can play it safe while others might make dangerous moves to either keep or gain their spot.
Sep 23 - 12:01 AM

Jimmie Johnson finished eighth at Richmond Raceway in the Federated 400.

This is meaningful because it is one of the first times that he ran among the top 10 all day. He is 14th in the standings and this strong run might have come too late to advance him through the playoffs. If he continues to improve and misses Round 2, he might become the go-to driver among non-playoff drivers.
Sep 22 - 11:43 PM

Kyle Larson finished seventh in both Richmond Raceway events this year.

Larson had a good finish and ran among the top 10 most of the evening, but he lacked domination. Seven is the operative number; he is seventh in the points as well. Larson needs more momentum than this to contend for the championship.
Sep 22 - 11:33 PM

Clint Bowyer improved 14 positions from his starting position of 24th to nab the final position in the top 10 in the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway. While Bowyer finished ahead of six of his fellow playoff contenders he currently finds himself four points below the Round of 12 cutoff line due to his 23rd place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Bowyer's position on the outside of the bubble going in to the final race of the Round of 16 is precarious as all will be decided at the wild card Roval track. Bowyer will need to avoid becoming a casualty to gain entrance into the next round.
Sep 22 - 11:29 PM

On the heels of a sixth-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Aric Almirola finished fifth at Richmond Raceway in the Federated 400.

Almirola was not expected to advance out of Round 1 of the playoffs. He benefitted from attrition last week, but this finish came out of flat out of speed. Almirola can be inconsistent and we suggested caution after practice. If he survives the Roval, he could be a great dark horse going forward.
