Kody Vanderwal will look to keep his momentum rolling, as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West shifts from Tucson to San Bernardino for the Sunrise Ford 150 presented by NAPA Auto Parts.

The 17-year-old from LaSalle, Colorado swept the Port of Tucson Twin 100s at Tucson Speedway and heads to a track where he had his best finish (fourth) as a rookie last season. The K&N West returned to Orange Show in 2016 for the first time since 1978, and Chris Eggleston put Bill McAnally Racing in Victory Lane each of the last two seasons.-NASCAR PitBox

Denny Hamlin posted a lap of 121.847 mph and will line up second for the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway.

This is the fifth time in 24 Richmond races that Hamlin has started on the front row. He has one win and another top five after doing so. His other three attempts ended 15th or worse.

Kevin Harvick won the pole for the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway with a lap of 121.880 mph in the third round of qualification.

Harvick has earned one previous pole at Richmond. He finished 10th in 2016 after leading the field to green that fall. When last we saw Harvick at Las Vegas, he was not happy. This will improve his mood. Harvick also started on the front row in 2016 when the race was set by points.

Chase Dowling will have the best view of anyone for the green flag in the inaugural Musket 250.

The 20-year-old scored his fourth career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour pole award on Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Dowling, a Roxbury, Connecticut, driver, earned the pole for the inaugural Musket 250 with a lap of 29.447 seconds (129.344 mph) behind the wheel of the No. 15 S&S Paving Chevrolet. The pole was his fourth career in Whelen Modified Tour competition, his third of the season and first career at New Hampshire.

Chase Elliott recorded a lap of 120.903 mph and will line up 19th on the Federated 400 grid at Richmond Raceway.

Elliott is outside of the top 12 in points and needs a solid run Saturday night. He should be able to advance during Stage 1, but earning stage points is going to me more challenging that it should be. By the end of the race, Elliott should have a top-10 in reach.

Jimmie Johnson posted a lap of 120.332 mph in the second round of qualification for the Federated 400 at Richmond Raceway and will line up 22nd for Saturday night's race.

Johnson had the third-slowest lap among playoff contenders and he currently sits outside the top 12 in points. He is going to have to find speed overnight, but with practice in the books, that is not likely.

Drivers seem to find their groove at certain tracks, and for Derek Kraus, New Hampshire is that place. For the second time this season, Kraus will lead the K&N Pro Series field to green at the ‘Magic Mile’.

Kraus, a native of Stratford, Wisconsin, topped the charts with a time of 29.273 seconds (130.113 mph) around the 1.053-mile oval. The pole marks the seventh of his K&N Pro Series career and second at New Hampshire, after he set fast time back in July. He went on to finish fifth in that event.

Christopher Bell (No. 20 Toyota) won the Pole Award for tonight's Go Bowling 250 with a lap of 118.990 mph.

This is his fifth pole in 35 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) races. It is his fourth pole and 19th top-10 start in 2018 and his first pole in three races at Richmond Raceway. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (second) posted his first top-10 start of 2018 and his seventh in eight NXS races at Richmond. Ross Chastain (third) scored his first top-10 start at Richmond and his third in 27 races this season. Alex Labbe (19th) was the fastest qualifying Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender.

Clint Bowyer failed to advance to Round 2 of qualification for the Federated 400 at Richmond Raceway. With a speed of 121.049 mph, he will line up 25th.

This is only the fourth time in 25 Richmond races that Bowyer has started this deep in the pack. He won the May 2008 race after starting 31st, but his other two attempts ended in a 22nd from 33rd and a 33rd from 39th in 2016

Austin Dillon posted the slowest qualification lap for the Federated 400 at Richmond among the playoff contenders with a speed of 120.816 mph. That put him 28th on the grid.

Dillon has qualified outside the top 25 four times in nine previous attempts. His best finish after starting that deep in the field was a 20th.

Cole Powell scored his first E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award on Friday for the Visit New Hampshire 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Powell’s No. 3 Copps Buildall/Kubota Canada Chevrolet set a fast time of 31.860 seconds (119.548 mph), good enough to claim his first career NASCAR Pinty’s Series pole, and it comes for the inaugural event in the United States for the Pinty’s Series. The 25-year-old driver from Mount Brydges, Ontario, has four previous starts at the 1.058-mile oval, all coming the on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. Powell currently sits 24 points back of championship leader L.P. Dumoulin, and looks to score a win Saturday to close the points gap.

Justin Bonsignore rolled into New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon and posted the fastest lap time in both practice sessions in advance of the inaugural NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Musket 250.

The fast time for Bonsignore was a 28.870 seconds (131.929 mph), which came in the morning practice round. He also paced the final 45-minute session of the day with a time of 28.883 seconds driving the No. 51 Phoenix Communications Inc. Chevrolet.
