With his top-10 performance at ISM Raceway last Sunday, William Byron clinched the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series rookie of the year title.

This is his fourth rookie of the year title in as many years (2017 – NASCAR Xfinity Series, 2016 – NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, 2015 – NASCAR K&N Pro Series East). He joins Jeff Gordon (1993), Kyle Busch (2005) and Chase Elliott (2016) as the fourth Hendrick Motorsports driver to earn a rookie title. Byron is only the second driver – joining Erik Jones – to win all three NASCAR national series rookie of the year titles in consecutive years. He is also the third-youngest driver to earn the title, behind Joey Logano and Busch. With just one race remaining in the 2018 season, the 20-year-old has racked up four top-10 finishes and led 61 laps through 35 points races.-Hendrick Motorsports

Chase Briscoe earned his first NASCAR win one year ago at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

He qualified on the pole and led 81 laps throughout the 134-lap race to cross the finish line first. Briscoe on Homestead: "I’m excited to get to Homestead as it’s one of my favorite tracks and it’s special because it’s where I got my first NASCAR win. It’s Ford championship weekend so hopefully we can have a good run to end the year for everyone on the Nutri Chomps 60."-Roush Fenway Racing

Ryan Reed will make his sixth NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) start at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend. In his five previous starts, his best finish of 13th came in 2013.

Reed has an average starting position of 15th and an average finish of 18.6 at the 1.5-mile track. Homestead 2017: He closed out the 2017 NXS season eighth in the driver standings following his 20th-place finish in the season finale at Homestead. Reed had a fast No. 16 Ford, but was assessed a pass through penalty after avoiding a car sideways in front of him at the start of the race. A caution never fell his way to get back on the lead lap.-Roush Fenway Racing

This weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, as Kaz Grala (No. 61 Ford) closes out his rookie year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and FURY concludes its first season as a NASCAR competitor, they welcome new partner Hot Scream, The Spicy Ice Cream, to the sport.

This will be Grala's first oval race in four months. His last four races have been road courses including the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL. In that September 29 event, Grala earned points in both Stage 1 and 2 before claiming an eighth-place finish at the track. He will be making his first Xfinity Series start Homestead-Miami Speedway, though the 19-year-old has five starts at 1.5-mile tracks in the series this year. Grala also has one previous start at Homestead in last year’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season finale.-FURY Race Cars

Brad Keselowski has earned four top-fives in his last five attempts at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Keselowski's career-best results are a pair of third-place finishes in 2014 and 2015. Last year, he scored a seventh, which suggests he should easily contend for another top 10 - unless the bulk of resources at Team Penske go to supporting Joey Logano's championship effort.

Kyle Larson has been almost perfect on 1.5-mile tracks this year with top-10s in all but one race.

Larson suffered crash damage at Texas in the spring and finished 36th. In the remaining nine races on 1.5-mile tracks, he has six top-fives and Homestead-Miami Speedway has always been one of his better tracks with a current streak of three top-fives.

Matt Kenseth enters this week's Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway with seven top-10s in his last eight attempts on this track.

Kenseth could be one of this week's best dark horse contenders. Last week he finally broke through the top 10 barrier at Phoenix with a seventh-place finish. Now that he knows the way to the front, he might find his way there again. If not, he will still be a good value with a top-15.
Nov 13 - 2:37 PM

Denny Hamlin enters the Ford 400 Championship weekend with five consecutive top-10s.

Hamlin's five consecutive could make him on of this week's top choices among non-playoff drivers. He is unlikely to challenge the Championship 4 for the victory, however, since his last four efforts have ended outside the top fie. Hamlin won on this track in 2009 and 2013.
