Michael Annett (No. 5 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet) has earned a top-five and five top-10 finishes in nine NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) starts at Kentucky Speedway, topped by a fourth-place run in June 2012.

He has an average finishing position of 13.2 on the 1.5- mile oval, which is his best on that type of track in the NXS, and second-best overall, among active tracks, behind a 12.8 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. His 11th-place run at Daytona moved Annett from 16th to 13th in the series point standings, 42 points out of the top 12 with 10 races until the Playoff field is set. Annett has finished seventh at Kentucky on three occasions, in 2009, 2011 and 2012.-JR Motorsports

Cole Custer (No. 00 Ford Mustang) won the Pole Award for the Ford EcoBoost 300 with a lap of 165.598 mph.

This is his sixth pole in 71 NASCAR XFINITY Series races. It is his sixth pole and 28th top-10 start in 2018 and first pole in three races at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Christopher Bell (second) posted his 23rd top-10 start of 2018 and his second in two Homestead races. Kyle Larson had the third-quickest average in Saturday morning's practice for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway with a speed of 160.127 mph over 41 laps.

Larson is within shouting distance of the top of this leaderboard despite running 10 more laps than Erik Jones (first at 160.385 mph). Over the course of a long run, that could be significant. Larson qualified 11th after scraping the wall in the final round of time trials.

Erik Jones posted the quickest average speed in Saturday morning practice for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway with a speed of 160.385 over 31 laps.

Jones also had the fifth fastest single lap in that practice. He qualified seventh and these factors combine to make him a serious threat in race trim. He should be one of the top choices among non-playoff drivers.

After qualifying second for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Kyle Busch was allowed to pick pit stall number 1 when teammate Denny Hamlin opted to take pit stall number 4 at the encouragement of team owner Joe Gibbs.

As NBC's Dustin Long points out, this does not violate NASCAR's "100% rule" that says teams can be punished for laying over during a race to allow their teammates to pass - because that rule is intended for race competition. Last year Hamlin had pit stall number 1 and could only finish ninth in the race.
Nov 17 - 12:36 PM

Joey Logano posted the fastest single lap of practice Saturday morning with a speed of 169.609 mph.

Logano was reportedly fastest on the five-, 10-, and 15-lap averages as well. He ran a total of 40 laps and over that duration - which included several runs - he has the fourth best average of 159.980. That makes him fastest among the championship contenders and fourth overall.
Nov 17 - 12:31 PM

Christopher Bell (No. 20 Toyota) had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in the XFINITY Series final practice for Saturday's Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida.

Nov 17 - 11:06 AM

Ryan Reed (No. 16 Ford) tops the speed chart in the Final Practice session for Saturday's XFINITY Series Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida.

He ran a fast lap of 166.451 mph. No. 22 Austin Cindric, No. 1 Elliott Sadler, No. 9 Tyler Reddick and No. 20 Christopher Bell round out the top-five of the 40 cars out on the track. The No. 45 Toyota, driven by Josh Bilicki, was the slowest in the final practice session.
Nov 17 - 11:04 AM

He won Friday night's NCWTS finale, the Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, to win the title. Moffitt finished the 2018 season with six wins, 13 top fives and 13 top 10s. During the Playoffs this season Moffitt has posted two wins (ISM Raceway and Homestead) and five top fives. Owner Champion: Shigeaki Hattori, Hattori Racing. Kevin Harvick qualified 12th for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Harvick complained of a tight condition during the third round of qualification. There is no big concern, however; in 2015 he qualified 13th and finished second.
Nov 16 - 8:31 PM

Denny Hamlin won the pole for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the second consecutive year and the third time in his last four races.

Nov 16 - 7:24 PM

This is his third pole in 60 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races. It is his second pole and 16th top-10 start in 2018 and his first pole in three races at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Stewart Friesen (second) posted his 16th top-10 start of 2018 and his second in three races at Homestead.
