Ten years ago, an ambitious young boy buckled into a bandolero race car at a track not far from the Twin Cities. Little did he know that in 2018 he would return to his roots where his racing journey began.

On Saturday July 14th Joe Graf Jr. will return to the high-banked 3/8ths mile Elko Speedway with the ARCA Racing series presented by Menards. He will be competing in his No. 77 Big Tine Ford race car in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 250. Graf Jr. who now resides in Mahwah, NJ is in his first year of the ARCA Series and a challenger in the Scott Rookie of the Year battle.

Natalie Decker will be joining Ave Motorsports for her second start in the Trans Am series on September 22, 2018 at Virginia international Raceway (VIR).

In August, Decker made her Trans Am debut competing at the 4.048 mile Road America course in her home state of Wisconsin where she made her way up to 9th place at the halfway mark. Unfortunately her transmission broke shortly thereafter, ending her race early leaving her 15th at the finish. The native of Eagle River, Wisconsin, has her hands on the wheel as a full-time ARCA driver with Venturini Motorsports. At VIR, Decker will pilot the Ave Motorsports No. 44 N29 Capital Partners Corvete, with associate sponsorship from Yamaha Power Products.

JD Motorsports with Gary Keller (JDM) announced Thursday that BUBBA Burger will sponsor Katherine Legge's No. 15 Chevrolet in Friday's Go Bowling 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Richmond Raceway.

BUBBA Burger is a sponsor in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Series, where Legge is a regular competitor. The British driver has raced in two other Xfinity events this year, finishing 30th on the road course at Mid-Ohio and 14th in another road-course race at Mid-America. Both races were in JD Motorsports with Gary Keller cars. Friday night's race will be her first NASCAR oval attempt.-JDM

Austin Cindric clinched a spot in the NXS Playoffs with a ninth-place finish last weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The series rookie and Mooresville, NC native will compete for both the drivers championship, as well as the owners title, with the No. 22 Ford Mustang team. The No. 22 team leads the NXS owner standings by six points over the No. 42 of Chip Ganassi Racing entering the Richmond Raceway race weekend.-Team Penske

One K&N Pro Series West contender is switching teams — and series — for a couple weeks. Derek Kraus will be taking his talents from the West coast over to the East coast, as the 17-year-old Stratford, Wisconsin, native will compete in the final two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East events for DGR-Crosley starting with Saturday’s Apple Barrel 125 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Kraus, who competes full-time in the K&N Pro Series West for Bill McAnally Racing, will also drive the No. 1 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota at Dover International Speedway in the East finale next week.

Matt Tifft (No. 2 Anderson's Maple Syrup Chevrolet Camaro) will be kicking off his run in the 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs by making his fifth series' start at Richmond Raceway this weekend.

He finished fourth at the 0.75-mile track earlier this year. The 22-year-old driver also has two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East starts at the 0.75-mile raceway, collecting one top-10 finish in the series.-Richard Childress Racing

Daniel Hemric will be making his fourth career NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Richmond Raceway during Friday night's 250-lap event.

Ryan Reed (No. 16 Ford Mustang) has competed at Richmond Raceway 11 times in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS).

He made his first career NXS start at the track in 2013, earning a 16th-place finish. He has two top-10 finishes at Richmond and an average finish of 13.9. Last Time at Richmond: Reed capitalized on consistency at Richmond Raceway and drove his No. 16 Ford to a ninth-place finish under the lights. He was a top-10 car in practice, qualified 13th and was able to make the right adjustments and maneuvers throughout the race to earn a top-10 finish.-Roush Fenway Racing

NASCAR handed down a penalty to Matt Tifft's No. 2 team for pre-race inspection infraction prior to last weekend’s Xfinity Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Tyler Reddick (No. 9 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Chevrolet) will make his third career Xfinity Series start at Richmond Raceway this weekend.

The Corning, Calif. native earned an 11th-place finish earlier this season at the Virginia short track. In nine career starts on short tracks in the NXS, Reddick has one top-five and four top-10 finishes, with a best finish of third in the June 2017 event at Iowa Speedway. Reddick enters the NXS Playoffs as the fifth seed, four points ahead of the eighth and final cutoff position.-JR Motorsports

Elliott Sadler (No. 1 One Main Financial Chevrolet) will take the green flag at his home track of Richmond Raceway as the third seed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff standings, the first event of the Round of 12.

In 30 NXS starts at the Virginia short track, Sadler has claimed six top-five and 15 top-10 finishes, along with 108 laps led. The Emporia, Va., native has an average finish of 4.4 in his last five starts at the track, all with JR Motorsports. On short tracks measuring 1 mile or less this season, Sadler has earned three top fives and seven top 10s. The veteran driver’s best finish is second at Dover.-JR Motorsports

Michael Annett has a top-five (fifth) and three top-10 finishes in 12 Xfinity Series starts at Richmond, with his best finish coming in the fall race of 2012.

Annett has completed 98.6 percent of the laps contested in his 12 starts at Richmond. He finished 15th in this race last season on the .75-mile oval. Pilot Flying J is back on the No. 5 this week, with the company’s familiar red, yellow and white scheme. Nine of Annett’s 12 Richmond starts have seen Pilot Flying J on his machine.-JR Motorsports
