Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series regular Kyle Busch, driving the No. 18 Toyota, had the best 10-lap consecutive average speed in the XFINITY Series final practice for the Alsco 300.

The average speed of 178.593 mph was best of the 13 cars that ran at least 10 consecutive laps on the track for this final practice session. No. 21 Daniel Hemric, No. 42 John Hunter Nemechek, No. 2 Matt Tifft and No. 20 Christopher Bell are the rest of the top-five on this list.

Gus Dean used a unique - if risky - pit strategy and had help from some well-timed caution flags to score his first ARCA Racing Series victory of 2018 in the Sioux Chief PowerPEX 250 at Elko Speedway.

He stayed out under the first pit stop at lap 60, and led until lap 68. He eventually fell a lap down to leader Chandler Smith before spinning in turn two on lap 160. Dean pitted for four tires and took advantage of the cautions to regain track position and get back onto the lead lap. He took the lead on lap 237 and held off a strong challenge by Joe Graf, Jr. on a restart with three laps to go to score the victory. He defeated pole-sitter Christian Eckes by 0.857 seconds to pick up his second career ARCA win (first came in 2016 at Talladega).

After being sent to the rear for failing to pass post qualifying inspection, there was nothing that was going to stop Tyler Ankrum from charging through the field to win the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East King Cadillac GMC Throwback 100 on Saturday at Thompson (CT) Speedway.

After setting the pace in practice and breaking the track record in qualifying, Ankrum was forced to start the 100-lap event from the rear. After nearly 70 straight green flag laps, the field was brought back together for the only restart of the night on Lap 73 after Ruben Garcia Jr. spun in Turn 3. Ankrum capitalized and on Lap 94 he made the winning pass around Dillon Bassett en route to his second win of 2018.

Joey Logano finished 10th in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway, which was his seventh top-10 in the last eight races on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks.

Unfortunately, only one of these has been a top-five. For a driver and team of this caliber, more is expected and with the dominance of the Big 3, fantasy players really need their other picks to challenge for top-fives. Approach him with a modicum of caution.
Jul 15 - 12:46 AM

Kyle Larson had to overcome a broken track bar adjuster on his way to a 9th-place finish in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway.

If not for that problem, Larson would most likely have contended for a top-five. The tenacity of this team and driver is going to pay dividends in the form of more wins in the future, so keep him on your roster in keeper leagues.
Jul 15 - 12:42 AM

Aric Almirola finished eighth in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway after starting the race 12th.

Almirola said after the race that track position was the key. He pushed too hard in the final round of qualification and was forced to start 12th. He could never get into the top five. Still, this is his fifth top-15 in seven races on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks this year.
Jul 15 - 12:17 AM

Erik Jones finished seventh in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway after starting on the outside of the front row.

Jones was not able to maintain great track position, but his seventh-place finish keeps him consistent. This is the sixth time he has finished 11th or better in seven races on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks in 2018.
Jul 15 - 12:02 AM

Kurt Busch finished sixth at Kentucky Speedway in the Quaker State 400 after starting the evening in ninth.

This was Busch's fifth result of sixth though eighth in seven starts on this track type in 2018. He is quietly amassing points and that makes him a good differentiator – but he will not anchor many rosters until he begins to challenge for top-fives.
Jul 14 - 11:59 PM

For the 11th time in the last 15 races on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks, Kevin Harvick earned a top-five with his fifth-place finish in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway.

This is the first time Harvick has finished among the top five at Kentucky, however, so he viewed it as a moral victory. Harvick might have challenged Kyle Busch for fourth, but he hit the wall with 15 laps remaining.
Jul 14 - 11:53 PM

Kyle Busch finished fourth in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway to keep a perfect streak of top-10s on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks alive.

Busch qualified third and challenged for the top five throughout the race. The Big 3's domination continues with this run and Busch actually managed to make up a couple of points on Harvick. His biggest concern was that he lost seven bonus points to Truex.
Jul 14 - 11:47 PM

Brad Keselowski overcame a speeding penalty in Stage 1 of the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway to finish third.

Keselowski was one of the favorites at the start of the race, but he shook the faith of many players when he made that mistake. He was unable to score any stage points during the race and that hurt his numbers in the NASCAR Fantasy Live contest.
Jul 14 - 11:36 PM

Ryan Blaney made a race of it late, but he followed Martin Truex Jr. across the Quaker State 400 finish line in second, about two seconds behind the leader.

Blaney had one of the fastest cars in practice, so his strength came as no surprise. He scored the second-most points in NASCAR Fantasy Live game, but was on only 18 percent of the rosters, which made him a great differntiator.
