Former Duke guard Jon Scheyer has agreed to play for Maccabi Tel Aviv.

After being undrafted out of college, Scheyer reportedly received an invite to Clippers training camp, but with the lockout in full effect, that's not something he can readily rely on. Most interestingly, because Scheyer is Jewish, his signing will not count against the league cap on foreign players for his new team.

Isaiah Canaan made a big impact during his Suns debut in a 108-106 win over the Wolves on Saturday, scoring 15 points with five rebounds, seven assists and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.

He was awesome as he took Mike James' spot in the rotation and he closed this game out in style with three clutch free throws with six seconds left to get the game to its final score. Canaan was added via the injury hardship exception, so looking ahead this may change things for when Devin Booker (groin) is set to come back. Still, the Suns have been dying for someone to produce some offense, so maybe they ride Canaan for a bit. His long-term upside isn't great, but he does get four games next week. If you don't like the guy at the end of your bench in a 16-team league, he could be worth a shot. To be clear, it's certainly possible he's out of the rotation in a few days and maybe the Suns pull the same move with their point guards as they did with their centers.
Dec 16 - 11:34 PM

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 28 points during a bad 108-106 loss to the Suns on Saturday, adding 11 rebounds, four assists, one block, two steals and matching a career-high four 3-pointers.

This was a terrible loss and somewhat surprisingly it's the second time they've lost to the Suns on a Saturday with another loss in Phoenix last month. Plus, this was Minnesota's first home loss to a Western Conference opponent all year. Bad loss aside, Towns is absolutely crushing over his last five games, averaging 25.2 points, 13.0 boards, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals, 2.6 blocks and 1.6 treys on 55.1 percent from the field. KAT being at 30 games already has him as fantasy's No. 4 player in standard leagues to this point and he still hasn't missed a game yet in his NBA career.
Dec 16 - 11:27 PM

Josh Richardson carried the Heat during a 90-85 win over the Clippers on Saturday, scoring a career-high 28 points with three rebounds, two assists, one steal, three blocks and six 3-pointers.

Those six treys were also a career mark as part of his 10-of-16 line from the field and 2-of-2 from the line for a beautiful 82.9 TS%. Richardson more than doubled the rest of his teammates in scoring tonight and he brought outstanding defense as per usual. It's all coming together for Richardson over his last 10, averaging 15.8 points, 3.2 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.6 treys on 55.1 percent from the field and 82.4 percent from the line. He's been a third-round player per game in standard leagues over that 10-game span, so his patient owners can pat themselves on the back.
Dec 16 - 11:10 PM

Michael Beasley moved right into Kristaps Porzingis' role in a 111-96 win over the Thunder on Saturday, matching his season-high 30 points with five rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

The Walking Bucket was awesome, making 11-of-18 from the field, 6-of-7 from the line and only turning it over twice with all that usage. Beasley dropped another 30-point gem against the Rockets earlier this year when KP was out, so he's thrived in this understudy role. The Unicorn was somewhat close to playing and he did some work in warmups, so there's a decent chance Beasley will have to move back to the bench on Monday against the Hornets. Hopefully you didn't fade him in DFS.
Dec 16 - 10:33 PM

LeBron James finished with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in Saturday's win against the Jazz for his 60th-career triple-double.

LeBron moves into sixth place on the NBA's all-time triple-doubles list, as he broke a tie with former Boston Celtics standout Larry Bird. Next up in LeBron's crosshairs will be Wilt Chamberlain (78). He said earlier this week that he is feeling better than at any point in his career and that's best news for the rest of the NBA.
Dec 16 - 10:29 PM

Carmelo Anthony didn't have a successful trip in his return to Madison Square Garden on Saturday, making 5-of-18 from the field for 12 points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes during a 111-96 loss to the Knicks.

He got mostly cheers during this game and the Knicks gave him a proper intro with the P.A. announcer saying his name just like he normally would as a Knick. Although, part of the MSG crowd was chanting "O-la-di-po" during this game, so Paul George got some love. Melo hit a 3-pointer on the first possession of this game, but he did cool off and he didn't have a strong defensive showing either. Plus, Anthony has been ice cold lately, failing to score in the teens in three of his last four games. Melo will forever be a legend in NYC and his Big Apple legacy will never die for showing up at a bodega wearing a robe.
Dec 16 - 10:19 PM

Russell Westbrook made 9-of-18 from the field for 25 points with seven rebounds, seven assists, two steals and four turnovers in 36 minutes against the Knicks on Saturday.

Hey, he didn't get 33 shots. Westbrook also had one of his lowest board-dime totals in this game and maybe he didn't have the same juice after playing 52 minutes on Friday against the 76ers. Westbrook is still getting a crazy amount of usage this year with only DeMarcus Cousins having more possessions this season, but he still has to up his efficiency. He has really just been a five-cat player in points, boards, assists, 3-pointers and steals, but he he's been pretty bad in the other four in standard leagues (percentages, blocks and turnovers).
Dec 16 - 10:14 PM

Dwyane Wade (rest) will be rested on Sunday night at Washington in the second end of a back-to-back, head coach Tyronn Lue confirmed after Saturday's game.

Wade could probably use the rest after a 3-of-11 shooting performance on Saturday against Utah while finishing with just seven points. He was able to salvage the fantasy line with six rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot across 20 minutes off the bench. The good news for fantasy owners of D-Wade is that the Cavs do not face another back-to-back situation until Jan. 2-3.
Dec 16 - 10:11 PM

Damian Lillard scored 18 points with seven rebounds, 11 assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes during a 93-91 win over the Hornets on Saturday.

Make it three straight road wins for the Rip City crew. Dame took some contact to his upper right leg in the first half and had the training staff look at him, but Lillard checked back in to close the second quarter with three 3-pointers to help give the Blazers a 12-point cushion at half. Lillard was laboring through this injury, but he shined through the pain to close the half and looked better in the third. Lillard's durability puts him in the conversation to be a top-five player in standard leagues.
Dec 16 - 9:35 PM

C.J. McCollum scored 25 points against the Hornets on Saturday, adding two rebounds, three assists and four 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

He was hot early to start this game and did cool off a little later. The Blazers blew a big lead in the fourth and McCollum said after the game that he has to finish games better. On the season, McCollum has been hotter in the second half with a tidy 60.0 TS% compared to just 51.6 TS% in the first half. Additionally, he's been awesome with his jumper and he's actually been more efficient on jumpers than he has been in the restricted area. Detailed stats aside, McCollum is a stud and will turn in early-round value this year as he looks to play 80-plus games for the third straight season.
Dec 16 - 9:34 PM

Bam Adebayo started the third quarter for James Johnson (ankle) on Saturday against the Clippers.

Coach Erik Spoelstra will go double center against DeAndre Jordan here. He's been more inclined to go with Bam next to Kelly Olynyk, so that'll be used even more today. Adebayo has value in deeper leagues and gets a slight bump here.
