Police say Zach Randolph met a man dealing marijuana aboard a charter cruise ship in Portland on Friday and invited him to his mansion later in order to sell weed to the 20 or so guests at Randolph's after-cruise party.

James Ruben Beasley told police he was encouraged to sell marijuana to anyone interested, until he was beaten with pool cues around 4 a.m. Saturday. Randolph has been in similar situations before, but is usually able to escape without penalty. We recently predicted the lockout was going to be bad news for him, and it didn't take long for Z-Bo to get into trouble with the law. The good news for Randolph is that no drugs were found when police searched the residence later.

John Wall (migraine headache) is considered questionable for Friday's game vs. the Nets.

Wall did not participate in the team's shootaround on Friday morning. He will be re-evaluated pregame on Friday night to determine his availability. This is shaping up as a game-time decision. It is worth noting that the Wiz are playing the lowly Nets. Many teams have used games against Brooklyn to rest their star players. Luckily, the game tips off at 7 pm, so we will have an official update before DFS lineups get locked in.
Mar 24 - 1:40 PM

Jahlil Okafor (right knee soreness) is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision Friday night in Chicago.

Okafor got hit on the outside of his troublesome right knee in Wednesday night's the loss to OKC. Okafor was unable to participate in shootaround on Friday morning. All indications from the Sixers and coach Brett Brown point towards Okafor being closer to "doubtful" than "questionable." We will have to wait until later this evening for confirmation. If Okafor does not play, Richaun Holmes will draw the start and would see plenty of minutes.
Mar 24 - 12:26 PM

Kenneth Faried (left shoulder contusion) is questionable for Friday's game vs. the Pacers.

Just when it appeared that Faried was injury-free and the Nuggets were at full strength, a new ailment pops up on the radar. Denver has plenty of depth up front with Danilo Gallinari (knee) expected to return to the lineup on Friday, so the Nuggets may prefer to err on the side of caution and keep Faried sidelined unless he is close to 100 percent.

Danilo Gallinari (left knee bone bruise) said he will play Friday vs. the Pacers.

Gallinari, who has missed four straight games, has clearly been inching closer to a return over the last few days. With Gallo back in the mix, the Nuggets will have their full complement of frontcourt players for the first time in quite a while. This will present a welcomed dilemma for coach Mike Malone on Friday. It will be interesting to see how Malone divvies up minutes amongst Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Kenneth Faried, Mason Plumlee, Will Barton and Juan Hernangomez.

Hassan Whiteside downplayed the ankle injury he suffered Thursday night and said he plans on playing Sunday vs. the Celtics.

Whiteside, who received 13 stitches in his hand on Tuesday, rolled his ankle late in the fourth quarter of Thursday's loss to the Raptors. "It’s not crazy like Dion’s," Whiteside said of the injury, referring to the badly sprained ankle of his teammate Dion Waiters. "More just annoying." Coach Erik Spoelstra was not quite as confident. "We'll know more, how severe or not severe," he said after the game. Stay tuned for updates out of Miami this weekend.
Mar 24 - 9:12 AM

Damian Lillard scored 30 points during a 110-95 win over the Knicks on Thursday, adding four rebounds, five assists, two steals and four 3-pointers.

That's seven 30-plus scoring games in March to tie him with James Harden for the most in the NBA this month. Since the break, Lillard averaged 31.1 points, 4.6 boards, 5.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 3.4 treys on 49.5 percent from the field and 90.0 percent from the line. His Blazers are just 1.0 games behind the Nuggets for the No. 8 seed, so this will likely come down to the wire. Lillard has been the No. 2 player for total value in standard leagues since the break.
Mar 24 - 1:04 AM

Coach Rick Carlisle said the Mavs "need" to take an extended look at Seth Curry as a point guard going forward.

Interesting. Curry played mostly the two during a win over the Clippers and he's played a lot of two since his breakout. Curry was not a very good point guard earlier in his career, and the change to the SG is part of the reason he's been so good. Regardless, Curry has a big role coming his way and he should continue to be a must-start player in all formats. Curry turned in a strong Thursday game, scoring 23 points with three rebounds, four assists and three 3-pointers in a win over the Clippers.
Mar 24 - 12:08 AM

DeMar DeRozan scored 40 points during a 101-84 win in Miami on Thursday, adding six rebounds, three assists and one steal in 36 minutes.

He just scored 42 points on Tuesday to make this the first time he's scored 40-plus points in consecutive games in his career. The Raptors have had tremendous success when DeMar drops 40, going 8-0 in those instances. DeRozan did tweak his ankle earlier in the game, but obviously it wasn't affecting him too much. The Raptors are playing solid ball again with a four-game winning streak to put them just 0.5 games behind the third-seeded Wizards.
Mar 23 - 11:20 PM

Delon Wright scored 13 points in a 101-84 win at Miami on Thursday, adding seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two turnovers in 24 minutes.

The younger Raptors came to the rescue to earn this comeback victory with Wright posting a +26 in +/- today. We've seen Wright play important minutes before and did so against John Wall back on Mar. 3, but he still wasn't able to get consistent run even after his coach talked him up. This is probably only going to be a timeshare for Wright and Cory Joseph, so most fantasy owners may want to steer clear.
Mar 23 - 11:06 PM

Hassan Whiteside rolled his ankle at the end of Thursday's game.

Coach Erik Spoelstra said he doesn't know how severe the ankle injury is, so we'll have to wait on the details. Whiteside had a right ankle injury before the All-Star Game and there's a chance that injury affected him for arguably the worst part of his season. As for this new injury, the schedule helped the Heat out this week because they won't play again until Sunday. Whiteside already was playing with 13 stitches in his hand, finishing with 16 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in this loss to the Raptors.
Mar 23 - 10:39 PM

J.J. Barea was ejected for a flagrant 2 foul on Blake Griffin in the third quarter on Thursday.

This was probably one of the worst flagrant 2 fouls of the season. Barea only have Griffin a shove and may have made some contact to his face. He won't be suspended for this one and will be ready for Saturday against the Raptors. Barea finished with five points, three assists and one 3-pointer. He isn't worth owning in most leagues.
