The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that the Grizzlies are expected to match any offer that restricted free agent Marc Gasol receives.

The paper cites sources close to owner Michael Heisley, but it's pretty obvious that this was the plan all along. The Grizzlies have a ton of cap space and need to re-sign Gasol to continue the promising development the club showed last season. He's one of the premier free agents available but is unlikely to sign elsewhere. Gasol should be a top-10 fantasy center once again this year.

Chris Kaman (wife having baby) will not play on Friday night.

There was a report that the Kamans would induce labor on Christmas, but apparently they waited a day. Kaman should be back for Sunday night. While he's out, expect Joel Freeland, Meyers Leonard and Thomas Robinson to hold down the frontcourt minutes.
Dec 26 - 8:29 PM

LaMarcus Aldridge (illness) will not play on Friday against the 76ers.

He missed Monday and played on Tuesday with an illness, so this is a surprise. Aldridge is not at the arena and he should be considered questionable for Sunday against the Knicks. With Chris Kaman also out, expect Thomas Robinson, Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland to get more looks.
Dec 26 - 8:28 PM

Nicolas Batum (wrist) will play against the 76ers on Friday.

He might not be looking for his shot due to the pain in his wrist, but Batum isn't a high volume scorer anyway. His fantasy owners can plug him back into their lineups in this favorable matchup. Allen Crabbe will likely move back to the bench.
Dec 26 - 8:20 PM

Jon Leuer will start in place of Zach Randolph (knee) for Friday's game vs. the Rockets.

Leuer had a nice outing during his last start, putting up 16 points and seven rebounds over 30 minutes of action. He looks like a nice low-budget plug-and-play option tonight.
Dec 26 - 7:55 PM

DeMarcus Cousins (illness) will not play against the Suns on Friday.

Ouch. Cousins has been ill more often than any player this season and his stomach bug will keep him out tonight. The Kings play again on Saturday, so Cousins should be considered questionable for that one. Expect Reggie Evans, Derrick Williams and Jason Thompson to get more run.
Dec 26 - 7:53 PM

Ricky Rubio (ankle) did some 5-on-0 work at shootaround Friday.

He's getting closer and it would appear contact is just around the corner. Rubio has been out since Nov. 7 with his severe ankle sprain and the Wolves have been forced to play Zach LaVine a little more than they planned. If you're looking to stash Rubio in a shallow league, now is probably the time.
Dec 26 - 7:38 PM

Tony Parker (hamstring) could get an extended break to recover from his hamstring strain.

"It keeps coming back," coach Gregg Popovich said of Parker's hamstring strain. "That’s not good, so we’re just going to sit him out for a while." The last thing the Spurs want is their point guard hurt in the playoffs, so it sounds like Parker could miss multiple weeks. Of course, the Spurs have declared Parker out for an extended period of time and he's come back sooner in previous years, so it's all a guessing game. Regardless, Cory Joseph is worth a look in all leagues.
Dec 26 - 7:11 PM

Kobe Bryant (general soreness) has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Mavs, but coach Byron Scott likes Kobe's chances of playing Sunday vs. the Suns.

Kobe was doubtful heading into this one, so this news shouldn't come as a surprise. "I just need to kind of hit the reset button," said Bryant. "What happens is my body realizes how messed up it is. Then everything starts hurting. It’s an opportunity to treat everything." While Kobe is sidelined, Nick Young, Wes Johnson, Wayne Ellington, and Carlos Boozer will all see some increased opportunity on offense.
Dec 26 - 7:02 PM

Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis will play against the Lakers on Friday.

Dirk missed shootaround today and was questionable for this one. There is no worth on how much he will play, but the Mavericks are not on a back-to-back set or anything. He should be ready to roll for his fantasy owners in a great matchup tonight.
Dec 26 - 6:54 PM

Boris Diaw (illness) will be available to play Friday vs. the Pelicans.

Diaw picked up a DNP-CD on Thursday, but coach Gregg Popovich explained he was dealing with a 100-degree fever, and was suffering a bit of strep, and his decision to withhold him from Thursday's game was to have him available for Friday. However, Diaw will likely be limited tonight playing through an illness, and given the difficult matchup, he's not a very attractive option in daily leagues.
Dec 26 - 6:51 PM

Coach Gregg Popovich said everyone is good to go for Friday except for Tony Parker (hamstring), Kawhi Leonard (hand) and Patty Mills (shoulder).

The Spurs are not playing their best ball these days and are going to need a win against the Pelicans tonight more than usual. Duncan should see his normal playing time, but anything goes with Pop. We'll be on the lookout for the starting lineups a bit later.
