Dwyane Wade said that he has a lot of fluid in his knee, and he is still scheduled to have it drained on Saturday.

"I have a lot of fluid," Wade Said. "In a perfect world I would love to get some fluid out." This obviously isn't thrilling news for the Heat, and given Wade's injury history, it's possible that he ends up missing some time after this procedure. The Heat play the Pistons on Sunday, but Wade's owners should probably have a backup plan ready. If he is unable to play, Mario Chalmers will likely benefit the most, while Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson would get more opportunities on offense as well. We will provide another update as soon as the Heat update Wade's status.

Gordon Hayward (shoulder) returned from a two-game absence in Friday's loss to the Nuggets, scoring 24 points on 9-of-19 shooting (1-of-7 3PTs, 5-of-6 FTs) with seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 32 minutes.

Hayward looked fine and made it through the game unscathed at least as far as the postgame reporting indicates. If Derrick Favors misses any time with his back injury, you'll see Hayward get a few more touches.

LaMarcus Aldridge hit a few wild shots against the Suns during an 87-81 victory on Friday, scoring a game-high 27 points with nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 35 minutes.

The Suns did a decent job on defense, but Aldridge was just knocking down contested shots. He made all six shots from the field in the fourth quarter for 15 points in that frame. Aldridge doesn't appear to be bothered by an index finger injury that kept him out of action on Tuesday, so his fantasy owners can keep him locked and loaded for Saturday because coach Terry Stotts isn't a fan of resting players. In his three previous games against the Nuggets, LMA averaged 26.3 points and 3.0 blocks per game, so his owners should have high hopes.

Updating an earlier item, Monta Ellis (calf) left the locker room on crutches and as we passed along earlier he will be evaluated on Saturday.

Crutches can be used as a precautionary measure but it's certainly not good to hear. Ellis is one of the toughest players in the league and doesn't miss games, but the Mavs may be able to convince him that it would be necessary in advance of the playoffs. Rajon Rondo (seven points, five boards, five assists, one steal) and Chandler Parsons (nine points, six boards, two assists, three steals, one trey) would be beneficiaries if he misses any time.

Dwight Howard played 20 minutes against the Wolves on Friday, making 8-of-9 from the field for 18 points with four rebounds, two steals and one block.

All eight of his makes came off an assist and most of those were as the roll man in a pick-and-roll. Howard is not going to play in back-to-back sets, so he's going to miss either Sunday or Monday. On the nights he plays, he should be worth starting as long as you're fine with him not making free throws.
Mar 28 - 2:10 AM

Josh Smith logged 40 minutes against the Wolves on Friday with 16 points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks and three 3-pointers.

He was the ball handler in a lot of pick-and-roll sets and had a nice rapport with Dwight Howard. Smith is basically the last man standing at power forward and should see major minutes for the next couple games until Terrence Jones (ribs, lung) can return. He'll be a must-start option until further notice.
Mar 28 - 2:07 AM

Stephen Curry torched the Grizzlies in an easy road win on Friday, scoring 38 points on 12-of-22 shooting (8-of-12 3PTs, 6-of-6 FTs) with three rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and one block.

This is just a crippling line if you had to go against Curry this week and right next door Klay Thompson wasn't bad either with 28 points and six treys of his own. Steve Kerr has made a number of overtures to the effect that rest is good, and owners have to hope that this just means they get hit with a game or two of rest and nothing more.
Mar 28 - 2:04 AM

Jason Terry made 6-of-7 from the field with five 3-pointers for 17 points against the Wolves on Friday with three rebounds, four assists and one block in 28 minutes.

That's good for a pristine 121.4 effective field goal percentage. As great as this line is, he still only had an 11.7 usage rate, which usually won't result in double-digit scoring unless it's in a 40-minute game. Fantasy owners looking for treys with some dimes can give him a look as long as they're not expecting a line like this one.
Mar 28 - 2:01 AM

Andrew Wiggins scored 31 points against the Rockets on Friday during a 120-110 loss, adding four rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer.

He's having a very strong second half and no player has logged more minutes than him since the break. Wiggins has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five, averaging 22.6 points, 5.0 boards, 2.4 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.8 blocks and 0.4 treys. He and Nerlens Noel are making it tough on voters for Rookie of the Year.
Mar 28 - 1:55 AM

Chase Budinger scored 23 points against the Rockets on Friday with four rebounds and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

He's basically the sixth man for the Wolves right now. The Wolves only had seven guys log more than 10 minutes for the second consecutive game, so being the sixth man is a pretty good gig. Budinger scored 22 points on Wednesday and is worth owning in standard leagues right now.
Mar 28 - 1:48 AM

Tyreke Evans scored 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds, 10 assists and one steal in the Pelicans' 102-88 win over his old Kings squad on Friday.

Evans is towing the line big-time for his fantasy owners as he continues to produce despite an ankle injury. Anthony Davis added 24 points on 11-of-26 shooting with nine rebounds, one steal and six blocks in the win.
