The Lakers are interested in Elton Brand, Antawn Jamison, and Jermaine O'Neal for the "veteran minimum."

The Lakers would be banking on the Mavs and other under-the-cap teams from bidding on Brand on the amnesty waiver wire, which sounds unrealistic. Jamison is drawing interest from multiple teams and is said to favor the Nets right now, and though he has a connection to Mike Brown it's unlikely he throws away MLE-like money to join in L.A. That leaves Jermaine O'Neal, who fits the definition of 'veteran's minimum.' Jordan Hill and the Lakers are still "far apart," and Josh Robertson's expiring contract is drawing interest in trade scenarios.

Kris Dunn thrived as a starter in place of Ricky Rubio (personal) on Sunday, finishing with 10 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, three steals, one block and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Dunn averaged just 4.4 points on 28.0 percent shooting in five starts earlier this season, but he's come a long way since then, and tonight's assists and rebounds were both career-highs. Rubio suffered a hip injury recently, and he's a prime trade target, all of which makes Dunn an appealing stash both short- and long-term, especially after tonight's showing.

Karl-Anthony Towns carried the Wolves to a 111-108 home win on Sunday, racking up 32 points (13-of-19 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), 12 rebounds, seven assists, four blocks, one steal and six turnovers in 40 minutes.

The offense ran through Towns a lot tonight, which was no surprise with Ricky Rubio (personal) out of commission -- before the game, former Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau referred to running Chicago's offense through Joakim Noah when Derrick Rose was injured. KAT is the second Wolves player with consecutive 30/10/5 games (Kevin Garnett did it five times), and he's simply on fire as we cruise into the latter half of the regular season.
Jan 22 - 10:15 PM

Ryan Anderson (illness) is expected to play in Monday's game against Milwaukee.

Ryno has missed three of his last four games due to a stomach virus. He told ESPN that he was not able to eat for three days, but has eaten over the last two days and "feels better." Sam Dekker and Corey Brewer will lose some minutes when Ryno returns.

DeMar DeRozan injured his right ankle during Sunday's game, which he finished with 22 points (6-of-17 FGs, 10-of-11 FTs), four assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block.

He was visibly frustrated after landing on a teammates foot halfway through the fourth quarter. He continued to play for a while, but didn't return after exiting with 1:30 left in a one-point game. The Raptors have a day off before facing the Spurs on Tuesday, so we'll keep a close eye on his status in case the ankle worsens overnight. If he misses any time, expect Terrence Ross to gain the most, with help from Norman Powell and DeMarre Carroll.
Jan 22 - 8:54 PM

Eric Bledsoe hit 11-of-17 shots for a career-high 40 points with 13 assists, six rebounds and four 3-pointers on Sunday against the Raptors.

Bledsoe set a career-high in points and a season-high in assists tonight, while leading the Suns to a victory over the Raptors. He also recorded his sixth double-double of the season. He is averaging 26.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 9.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in his last five. He's one of the most consistent guards in the league over the past few weeks, and he shows no signs of cooling off.
Jan 22 - 8:45 PM

Brandon Ingram struggled in a start at PG on Sunday, going 2-of-12 from the field and 2-of-3 from the line on his way to six points, one board, one steal, three turnovers and zero assists in 36 minutes.

Ingram air-balled his first shot, and just never really got things going after that, but he wasn't the only guy to struggle today as only two Lakers (Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams) managed to crack double-digits in the scoring department. Nick Young finished with nine points, two boards, one triple and one assist, and Julius Randle put up nine points, six boards, four assists, one steal and three turnovers in the blowout. The Lakers lost by 49 points today, their worst loss in franchise history.
Jan 22 - 6:51 PM

Wesley Matthews (right hip strain) is expected to play vs. the Knicks on Wednesday, according to coach Rick Carlisle.

We'll hedge our bets until he's officially cleared to play, but this is still an extremely encouraging report after watching him limp off the court on Sunday. When asked if he'd play vs. the Knicks, he replied, "That's the plan." He benefits from having two days off, and he's known for battling through injuries, so it would be a surprise if he's ultimately ruled out.
Jan 22 - 6:05 PM

Danilo Gallinari (ankle) will play on Sunday, as expected.

Gallo was listed as probable, so this isn't a surprise, but his status was worth confirming with Denver in the second half of a back-to-back set. Deploy him as usual tonight.
Jan 22 - 5:51 PM

Deron Williams scored 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting during Sunday's 122-73 blowout win over the Lakers, adding eight assists, five boards, one 3-pointer and zero turnovers in 26 minutes.

Williams surpassed Kevin Johnson for the No. 20 spot on all-time assist list in this one, and he now needs just 11 more dimes to pass up Muggsy Bogues for the No. 19 spot. Williams was widely regarded as one of the best point guards in the league during his Utah days, but in 2017 he’s past his prime and just clinging to late-round value.
Jan 22 - 5:49 PM

Gary Harris (ankle) will start Sunday's game vs. the Timberwolves, sending Will Barton back to the bench.

Harris will be returning from a three-game stint on the sidelines, and he'll be on a minutes limit, but he offers enough upside that he should be scooped up in most leagues if he was cut during the injury. With Harris on a minutes limit, Barton shouldn't take too drastic of a hit, but once he's fully up to speed both Barton and Jamal Murray will lose some minutes.
Jan 22 - 5:36 PM

Ricky Rubio (personal) is expected to rejoin the team on Monday, and he will fly with the squad to Phoenix for Tuesday's game against the Suns.

Rubio will miss Sunday's game against the Nuggets, but it sounds like this will only end up being a one-game absence due to the personal issue. Kris Dunn will draw the start tonight sans Rubio, and he's on the radar in daily leagues with an uptempo matchup against one of the worst teams in the league at defending the point guard position.
