The Desert News believes that Derrick Favors will start at power forward ahead of Paul Millsap.

This could be really big news for Favors' fantasy outlook if he winds up with the starting gig. Beat writer Jody Genessy speculates that Favors is the favorite because of his "enormous potential" and argues that "the time has probably come" for Favors to take the starting role permanently. We'll have to see how things shake out in training camp, but Favors is a name fantasy owners don't want to overlook. He averaged 7.8 points and 7.0 rebounds on 50 percent shooting over four games as the starting PF last season.

Isaiah Thomas finished Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Cavaliers with a team-high 22 points, two 3-pointers, five rebounds, 10 assists and one steal in 32 minutes off the bench.

It was Thomas' first double-double with the Celtics, but more impressively he joined Oscar Robertson and LeBron James as the only players to get at least 20 points, 10 assists and five rebounds in their NBA playoffs debut. His acquisition was a catalyst for the Celtics' playoff push after the All-Star break, and Boston got a bargain with three years remaining on his contract at a total of $19.7 million.

Avery Bradley returned from a bruised quad on Sunday to score seven points on 3-of-10 shooting with two rebounds, three assists and one turnover.

He went 1-of-6 from downtown in 31 minutes and seemed a bit out of sorts after missing Boston's final game of the regular season. Bradley also struggled to contain Kyrie Irving defensively and he'll need to have a better game for the Celtics to even the series at 1-1 on Tuesday.

Jeff Green (back) was spotted going through pregame warmups, and he's expected to play Game 1 against Portland on Sunday.

Green has been playing through the pain, and all signs are pointing towards him being available tonight. Check back for another update closer to tip-off, but it's very likely Green will be active tonight.
Apr 19 - 6:51 PM

Tony Allen (hamstring) is a go for Sunday's Game 1 against the Trail Blazers.

With Allen active, he'll take away some minutes from Courtney Lee, Jeff Green and Vince Carter. Allen spent the last nine games of the season on the sidelines, so he may have his minutes limited tonight.
Apr 19 - 6:41 PM

Mike Conley (foot) will play Game 1 on Sunday against Portland, as expected.

Conley was listed as a game-time call, but there was never really any doubt that he'd suit up for Game 1 of the playoffs. Head coach Dave Joerger said he'd play Conley as close to 45 minutes as possible, so he's looking like a quality guy to target in daily leagues.
Apr 19 - 6:37 PM

Updating a previous report, Arron Afflalo (shoulder) has officially been ruled out for Game 1 against the Grizzlies.

Head coach Terry Stotts said that Afflalo is getting better every day, and that he's getting his range of motion back, so it sounds like he's getting close to being available. However, he’ll be forced to spend Game 1 on the sidelines, and it'll be Allen Crabbe and C.J. McCollum being asked to fill the void in his absence, with McCollum offering the most upside.
Apr 19 - 6:34 PM

Arron Afflalo (shoulder) was spotted going through a pregame workout at full speed, and it's looking like he'll be a game-time decision for Sunday's Game 1 vs. the Grizzlies.

Afflalo is still being listed as doubtful, but the fact that he's going through a workout at full speed is certainly a positive sign. He's currently in the second week of his initial 1-2 week timetable, so there is a chance he takes the floor tonight, and we'll be monitoring this situation closely. If he is able to play, C.J. McCollum's value would take a sizable hit, and Allen Crabbe may fall entirely out of the rotation.
Apr 19 - 6:28 PM

Kevin Love looked great in his playoff debut on Sunday, scoring 19 points (5-of-14 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), with a game-high 12 rebounds, four assists, two 3-pointers, one steal and one turnover through 33 minutes of action.

Love struggled from the field a bit, but he made shots when it really counted, and his aggressive play on the glass was a big boost for Cleveland. Boston isn't a great team at defending the power forward position, so Love should continue to put up quality numbers throughout the series. It'll be interesting to see if a deep playoff run tilts Love's hand towards re-signing with the Cavs this offseason.
Apr 19 - 6:19 PM

LeBron James filled up the stat sheet during his 42 minutes of action on Sunday, scoring 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting (3-of-4 from the stripe), with six rebounds, seven assists, one 3-pointer, two steals, one block and five turnovers.

LeBron also passed Michael Jordan for ninth-most assists in the NBA post-season history with this performance, so there's yet another accolade James can add to his Hall of Fame resume. He did bump knees with Tyler Zeller at one point and limped back to the bench, but he played through it, and his 42 minutes would suggest that this will be a non-issue moving forward.
Apr 19 - 6:04 PM

Kyrie Irving was fabulous in his playoff debut on Sunday, scoring a game-high 30 points on 11-of-21 shooting (3-of-5 from the line), with five 3-pointers, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one turnover through 41 minutes of action.

Irving looked confident during his first-career playoff game, and Boston really didn't have any answers for him. He also become just the second player in Cavs' franchise history to score 30 points in his playoff debut, with the other guy to accomplish the same feat going by the name of LeBron James. This should be a relatively short series.
Apr 19 - 5:45 PM

Draymond Green rolled his ankle during Game 1 on Saturday and was limited during Sunday's practice, but head coach Steve Kerr said it's not a big deal.

The Warriors had a light practice today, and there's nothing suggesting this will cause Draymond to miss any time. He logged 42 minutes on Saturday and filled up the stat sheet, so he'll be a quality daily league target for Game 2 on Monday.
