Doug Collins said that he plans to use Thaddeus Young off the bench next season.

"I'd like to continue to play Thad off the bench," Collins said. "I like his energy and his attitude he brings to us." Some were expecting Young to be the starting PF heading into next season, but it sounds like Young will be in his familiar reserve role. Young's weight is up to 229 lbs after finishing last season at 215, and that's good news considering Collins wanted him to put on weight in the offseason. The 24-year-old averaged 12.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 28 minutes off the bench last season.

Justise Winslow (wrist) will not accompany the team on their upcoming three-game road trip.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra did say that Winslow was making progress with the wrist injury, so perhaps he can get back on the court for Monday's (Dec. 12) home game against the Wizards. Dion Waiters (groin), Josh Richardson (wrist, ankle), Luke Babbitt (hip) and James Johnson (rotator cuff) will also miss Miami's upcoming road trip, so guys like Wayne Ellington, Tyler Johnson, Derrick Williams and Josh McRoberts should be steady fixtures in the rotation moving forward.
Dec 6 - 6:08 PM

Luke Babbitt (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.

Dion Waiters (groin), Justise Winslow (wrist), James Johnson (rotator cuff) and Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist) will join Babbitt on the sidelines on Tuesday, leaving Miami with just nine healthy players for tonight's game. Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson and Hassan Whiteside will dominate the offensive possessions tonight, and guys like Derrick Williams and Rodney McGruder are viable punt play options in DFS.
Dec 6 - 5:59 PM

Josh Richardson (ankle, wrist) will not play Tuesday game vs. the Knicks.

Dec 6 - 5:59 PM

J.R. Smith's MRI revealed no structural damage to his injured left knee, and he is being listed as day-to-day.

X-rays taken on Smith's knee also came back negative, and with the day-to-day tag, it seems like there's a possibility he could return to action as soon as Wednesday's game in New York. Owners can expect to get another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround.
Dec 6 - 5:29 PM

Seth Curry (right knee sprain) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Kings.

Rick Carlisle said on Monday that he didn't expect Curry to play Wednesday, so he's on the doubtful side of the questionable-tag, and owners can expect to get another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround. If he's out, Deron Williams will see his playing time in the high-30s while Devin Harris will earn close to 20 minutes off the bench. Stay tuned.
Dec 6 - 4:23 PM

Dirk Nowtizki (Achilles) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Kings.

Wednesday will be Nowtizki's sixth straight game on the sidelines, and Rick Carlisle hasn't given any clues regarding when we can expect Dirk to get back on the court, although with this season quickly turning into a lost cause for Dallas we'd speculate that he's doubtful for Friday's game against the Pacers. Dorian Finney-Smith will likely continue to start, but Dwight Powell is the guy you want to target.
Dec 6 - 4:16 PM

An MRI revealed a minor bone bruise in Andrew Bogut's right knee and he's expected to spend at least the next two weeks on the sidelines.

This is probably the best news the Mavs could have got regarding their oft-injured center, but with Bogut and Dirk Nowtizki (Achilles) out of commission, Dwight Powell will get his time to shine and he's someone to consider swooping up as a speculative add in standard leagues. Salah Mejri should be able to earn some starts sans Bogut, but he's more of a wait-and-see guy in deep leagues. Bogut only has 14th round value on the year, so he's not really worth holding through the injury.
Dec 6 - 4:00 PM

Vince Carter (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the 76ers.

Tuesday will mark Carter's fifth straight game on the sidelines, which will likely result in Troy Daniels and Tony Allen getting all the minutes they can handle, and perhaps Toney Douglas can get into the game for longer than the eight minutes he played Monday night. For now, we'll be considering Carter questionable for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Dec 6 - 3:57 PM

Zach Randolph (personal) will return to action for Tuesday's game against the 76ers, as expected.

Randolph will be returning from a seven-game absence, and the Grizzlies sure could use him with Vince Carter (hip), Chandler Parsons (knee), James Ennis (calf), Mike Conley (back) and Brandan Wright (ankle) all set to spend Tuesday night on the sidelines. Randolph should be heavily involved in Memphis' offense with all those guys out, although he could also be dealing with a minutes limit after a lengthy absence, so he's a risky DFS target. JaMychal Green could lose some minutes with Z-Bo back.
Dec 6 - 3:56 PM

George Hill (left big toe) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Suns.

This will be Hill's fourth straight game on the sidelines, so while he's been phenomenal while on the court this season, his penchant for hitting the sidelines has been extremely frustrating. Dante Exum should continue to start with Rodney Hood and Gordon Hayward running the show on offense. For now, we'll be considering Hill questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: With Hill out again, DFS players will want to flock towards Gordon Hayward and Rodney Hood. With Hill and Derrick Favors off the floor this season, Hayward owns an elite 32.7% usage rate (per RotoGrinders CourtIQ), making his salary across the industry seem to low given the match-up. Hood's usage also jumps to 29.7%, making him a very strong mid-range play at a thin SG spot. Pairing the two together is viable in any format, as it gives you ample exposure to an offense that will play way up in pace tonight.
Dec 6 - 3:51 PM

Larry Nance (knee) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game in Houston.

Nance was a full participant during Tuesday's practice, and he was officially "available to play" on Monday, so he's probably much closer to probable for Wednesday's game. Owners can expect to get another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround, but Nance's return to action will syphon away some minutes from Thomas Robinson and Julius Randle.
