Serge Ibaka (swollen left knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks.

Nov 17 - 12:26 PM

Steven Adams (calf) will play Friday night vs. San Antonio.

Adams had missed three straight games. Coach Billy Donovan said that Adams will not have a specific minutes limit, but that Adams' playing time would be dependant upon how he felt during the game. With Adams back in the mix, Dakari Johnson will get bumped to the bench, and Jerami Grant will see his minutes reduced as well.
Nov 17 - 12:06 PM

Ricky Rubio (Achilles soreness) has been ruled out of Friday's game vs. the Nets.

Rubio has been struggling all season, so here's hoping that resting his Achilles may help. Raul Neto and Donovan Mitchell will see an uptick in minutes with Rubio sidelined. Over the 97 minutes Mitchell has logged over his last three games, 32 of those minutes came at point guard. Mitchell is an intriguing DFS option for Friday, especially considering Utah is playing the fast-paced Nets. The Jazz has also recalled Nate Wolters from the G-League. He will be active on Friday and will serve as Utah's third-string PG.
Nov 17 - 12:02 PM

James Harden went berserk during a 142-116 win over the Suns on Thursday, making 12-of-22 from the field for 48 points with two rebounds, seven assists, two steals, one block, five turnovers and six 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

The Rockets became the first team since 1991 to score 90 points in a half with 45 points in the first and second quarters. Harden also made all 18 from the line tonight and all 19 on Tuesday, which helped him get to 43 consecutive free throws and counting. Those free throws are part of the reason why he's scored 40.2 points per game over his last six on a ridiculous 68.8 TS% and a 39.0 usage rate. He did actually bang knees with Josh Jackson with nine minutes left in the second quarter tonight, but he stayed in the game and it clearly didn't affect him in a negative way. Yeah, Chris Paul could hurt him slightly, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see Harden finish the year as fantasy's top player.
Nov 17 - 1:35 AM

Greg Monroe scored 20 points in his Suns debut on Thursday, adding 11 rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 26 minutes during a blowout loss to the Rockets.

The Rockets went right at him early in the game and it's part of the reason the Suns were out of it early. The Suns are almost certainly going to be trading him or buying him out at some point because of his expiring contract and maybe this will help them move that along faster than expected. His long-term upside doesn't sound great, but the Suns really don't have much direction. If you want to pick him up to use him before he's dealt and you need a big man, it's not a bad idea.
Nov 17 - 1:04 AM

Chris Paul returned to action against the Suns on Thursday, scoring 11 points with four rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes.

The Rockets were just ridiculous while CP3 was out there with a +14 in those 21 minutes, but it was more about shot making from deep than anything else. Paul did leave the arena in the fourth to do cardio with the training staff, and he told TNT's Kristen Ledlow he felt great. Coach Mike D'Antoni has said he wants to stagger Paul from Harden and that'll be when CP3 does his best work, but clearly there's enough to go around in this offense. After almost a month off, Paul's fantasy owners should start to see some dividends.
Nov 17 - 12:45 AM

Al Horford scored 18 points with 11 rebounds, two assists and five turnover during a 92-88 win over the Warriors on Thursday.

He was the best Celtic in this game and helped keep the Warriors to their lowest score since Kevin Durant joined forces with Stephen Curry and company. The Celtics went on a 19-4 run to close out the third to help them tie the game up heading into the fourth quarter. After their 0-2 start, the Celtics have their longest winning streak since 2010 and already have a three-game cushion for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Horford is locked and loaded as an early-round player at a premium position.
Nov 16 - 11:52 PM

Marcus Smart missed all seven shots from the field against the Warriors on Thursday, making one free throw with seven rebounds, three assists, one block, two steals and three turnovers in 31 minutes.

Yeah, so about those videos of him making 20 gazillion-bajillion triples over the summer. Sure, Skinny Smart has really made an impact on defense, rebounding and even passing at times, but he's now down to just 26.8 percent from the field on the season. He has a chance to average five boards, six assists and two steals, but goodness he can't hit a jumper. If you have him, hopefully you're punting FG% or it doesn't count in your league.
Nov 16 - 11:15 PM

Kevin Durant scored a game-high 24 points during a 92-88 loss to the Celtics on Thursday, adding three rebounds, three assists, one steal, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

He missed a key mid-range shot late in the game to lead to the loss. On the whole, the blocks were there yet again and Durant continues to show how he can be a plus defender. Blocks aren't the best way to measure defense, but KD comes in at 94th percentile at around-the-rim defense, and he's only allowed one make on 22 attempts as the defender with the shot clock under four seconds (Synergy). Oh and KD is on pace for his most efficient offensive season of his career. He'll be in the mix as fantasy's top player all season.
Nov 16 - 11:09 PM

Stephen Curry did not fare well in his return from a one-game absence, making 3-of-14 from the field for a season-low nine points with six rebounds, five assists, four steals, four turnovers and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

The Celtics were aggressive on defense and made him work on offense, which led to Curry making just 1-of-8 in the first half. He was also in some foul trouble with his fourth foul coming with nine minutes left in the third quarter and coach Steve Kerr pulled him -- Kerr doesn't usually pull Curry for fouls because he doesn't commit many. It's hard to chalk up this bad game to his thigh issue, so just expect him to turn it around against Ben Simmons and the 76ers on Saturday. That should be fun.
Nov 16 - 11:07 PM

Al-Farouq Aminu (ankle) remains out for Friday's game against the Kings.

He was expected to miss 2-3 weeks back on Nov. 3, so he's likely going to be on the back end of that or perhaps even later. It looks like Caleb Swanigan will have another chance to start and Moe Harkless should handle some minutes at the four as well.
